Should have a set with all the blocks, at least in temp form, by the end of the month?
No promises as this is turning out to be a lot harder than I thought, heh.

Oh yea i just came back
Can you atleast make it compatible with MCpather so i can just patch it and play as fast as i can :smile.gif:
Yeah, it'll be compatible with Mcpatcher, that's how I'm running it.
If you mean right now, well, the temporary terrain.png is at the bottom of this post. Too many holes in it to be playable at the moment and some of the blocks [water/leaves] don't work quite right yet. You could throw it on top of another texture as long as it's just for yourself and you don't add it to a mix pack or something, if you really want it now, though.
And to everyone throwing suggestions, thank you!Keep them coming, I'll be playing with the mob ideas especially, once I've got more blocks done.
Here's the temporary terrain.png for you guys to have an idea where I'm at:
Critique would be awesome. Don't be shy.
Also, thinking of downgrading this pack to 32x [if I can make it look decent], in the hopes it'll cut down on the time it takes to make/tweak/fix textures, anyone horribly opposed?
Thanks guys!
Looks like getting the terrain finished first is what I'll be doing then. I've decided to stop ripping textures from the game, though, so the ones that are already done will be left but everything from now on will be hand-drawn based on environments. So it's going to take a little longer but I think it'll look better. I'll get a couple more things drawn and have a WIP version of the terrain.png up here soon.

Underwater colour should be misc\water.png and I'm not sure about the fog colour...
You could also alter the vignette.png so instead of a smooth vignette you get a twisted tentacles / tunnel-vision effect.
Thanks for that, I'll be editing those both.

Glad you think so! :wink.gif:

Player skin, I always though that SH3 was the stronger game, but SH2 or 1 were more interesting characters so... but then again there are some..........OMFG HAVE TO ADD ROBBY AS A MOB!!! (*sorry got distracted by google images)
That's about how I feel about the games.
Thank you for those links! Seeing that someone else has done a bunch of skins I'm a little tempted to do a monster skin [possibly Robby] for the player and just link people over there. And that map, ah, I thought none existed. I hope they finish it.

Also: Snow should be ash so just dark it a little, add some noise, and it should look fine. Water / Rain = Blood or something? Lightning... Uh... Did Silent Hill have lightning? The only thing that I can think of for lightning that isn't lightning would be a CHAIN THAT COMES FROM THE SKY AND SMITES THINGS.
Alright, snow will be ash!
Not sure about bloody water/rain as it might just create an overkill of red, but I'll try it out at as an alt texture, at least.
There wasn't lightning in SH as far as I know, but considering Downpour is coming out, that might change. Still, the chain idea is fun and I'll probably try it out.
It'll be a pig spawner if your difficulty is set on Peaceful.
Not necessarily. I play on peaceful while exploring, and have many examples of non-pig spawners
Weird, because when you play peaceful the spawners (are supposed to) show a pig in the box.
Not true. On Peaceful they just don't spawn mobs; I usually drop to peaceful temporarily while placing water in my dungeon grinders, never had one switch to a pig spawner.
Pig spawners are usually a glitch from either INVediting spawners or from exposing SMP spawners to sunlight.
Neat find there, OP. I'll have to go check that out.
I couldn't find a screenshot for exactly what I mean here, but water/lava could look like the red/blue/black from the sky in this for water? There was something kinda like it on the floors in the castle in a couple spots.
And that plasma-y green could work for lava, maybe?
My goal is to have the pack look similar to the default, I redid every block ever-so-slightly. Thanks for your input!
Ah, okay! If I look at it with that in mind it's very well done.
I actually do like it better than default, I just didn't get it was meant to be subtle.
I think the best thing out of this is that diamond armor. I like that enough that I'm tempted to replace the items in the pack I'm using just for that.
The mobs are okay too. Liking those pigs.
Otherwise, I think you should get a little bolder with your color choices and really try to go for the 'somber' look, if that makes sense? Currently it's a little too close to default to really see a ton of difference at first glance.

Your snow greatly improves the look of the thing I'm building:
GUI looks nifty too. Very smooth when you roll over the buttons.

What?
EDIT: No, wait, you did that on everything you edited?

Sorry you didn't get the music disc.

Zombie spawner and stuff in the chest.
[sorry about the bad F3 screen, my computer has seen better days.]
Looks like it was a fluke.
Still, I wonder what caused it? It's a neat glitch.

Just in case you missed the title somehow.
Are those the mountains of madness lurking over there?
[-18, -101]
...it seems we've hit a wall.
[112, -54]
But wait! There's this arch here. And once we walk beneath that...
[141, -53]
More mountains!
[164, -26]
Then past a waterfall there's a better arch:
[there's also a really shallow cave perfect for a base behind that waterfall.]
[173, -62]
And to cap off, a lavafall and another waterfall side by side:
[373, 86]
Just felt like sharing.
Haven't explored super far, if I find anything else neat I'll post more screens.
