posted a message on What the current status of snow golems?
    Quote from GerbilCrab475

Snow golems should have their old AI back, surprisingly enough the old one was better as sentry towers with fences made them invincible and still allowed them to hit monsters. Now they can't see through walls and just sit there even though the monster is in range, and they should still hit creepers and not skeletons, not the other way around like they do now. Oh, and get rid of the pumpkin on their head (I don't see any pumpkins on Iron Golems now do I).

Well they all had to get their AI "upgrade" at some point, and if you just use half slabs with a roof, I think you can make a lesser turret. Also, they have pumpkins on their heads because they're basically SNOWMEN, but called snow golems.

posted a message on When will minecraft end? (The last update)
Well even when Mojang is done working on it, the modding API will most likely already be complete. Before Mojang is even done with it, people will already rely on big mods that will just keep getting bigger. Before you know it, there will be more than just Tekkit. The possibilities will be endless. I don't even know how long it shall live. But first, they need to make it so that spiders look like they're climbing up walls..

posted a message on I can't believe Mojang gave up on the sky dimension
I agree that the aether mod adds too much to seem like vanilla. And it's not even for 1.3.2 atm or a completed mod (it is technically a WIP because they're working on 2.0, which apparently will have multiplayer, don't hold me to this, I don't remember exactly because it could be the opposite).

And now that I've put too much thought into that last paragraph, I can't really think of much else to say here except for, "it's a damn shame they got rid of the sky dimension, it would've been epic."

By the way, that idea that contained fish showing up more often and whatnot (can't remember name of poster..) doesn't sound half bad..

posted a message on Snapshot 12w39a Ready for Testing
    Quote from psionic_bgd

I just don't get these new snapshots... They brag around with big numbers, but the game seems like it is still in early alpha... And it's getting worse! New sounds are AWFUL (ffs, there are so many sound designers out there), I still have to use patcher for HD textures... Without Optifine, I can't get a decent fluid experience, expected on i72600, 12GB ram GTX580 and Win7 64bit. Why don't you implement some serious stuff in game, like built-in patch, selecting various options... Just integrate few of public mods, like optifine, make some appealing front end, and stop ruining the game with some useless features... Better make that API so users can write their stuff, they are better at it, anyways...

Sorry for being honest. Someone in their DEV team should really read something like this!

Well apparently the creator of optifine was being a **** and wouldn't let them use it. Apparently they were going to buy the mod or something (sounds strange), but they couldn't come up with a number. What the hell???

posted a message on Enough is Enough: Why Jeb's 1.4 is the new Notch's 1.8
    Quote from Side_salad

No no no, the witch doesn't fit in with zombies and skeletons. The witch fits in with bats and ghosts and silly skeletons made from cut-up milk cartons by grade-schoolers. The zombies and skeletons are stereotypical, yes, but they are standard. Many games have zombies and skeletons. Witches on the other hand are cliche and stupid, along with the bats. A better "evil" semi-boss mob would be a necromancer that summons zombies and skeleton and shoots flaming arrows (like fireballs). That would MUCH better fit in with the theme of zombies and skeletons (and be a lot more scary).

And OP, about your SMP wither complaint, I have yet to find a server that doesn't stop creepers and endermen from griefing. especially since in 1.4 you wouldn't even need a plugin for that anymore because of the new commands (as stated above by someone else).

TL;DR: Witches and bats are the stupidest things in minecraft ever and the wither will not grief servers.

First of all, bats are a real thing. I don't care how many times they have been in video games, they work well, and are damn cute, in Minecraft. Just read the title, MINEcraft. You mine, and craft. And where do you mine? In caves. And what living animals are in caves? Bats of course.
(The only other thing I can pull off the top of my heads is maybe glow worms, and that would be a pain to get into this here game, not to mention adding other worms, silk, and glow silk, which would be used to make all sorts of things that I don't care for.)

And screw the popular culture, I don't care how much of a stereotype witches may seem. Look beyond this foolishness your mind lets you see. For a witch is a practitioner of witchcraft. Not some silly, green, fat hag that wears black (including the hat) with a wart on her long nose. YOU sir, must understand that in a game where you combat zombies and skeletons with enchanted weapons and mystical potions, witches DO INDEED fit in. Now read this paragraph over until you understand what I am saying.

posted a message on The diversity of biomes
This has been mentioned many times, and I find that no matter the situation I agree. With that said, I will tell you what exactly I am talking about, the diversity of biomes, and more specifically, technical biomes and biome specific mobs (whether they're hostile or passive).

We have mooshrooms, and cave spiders (not sure that counts really). That's all of them. Where are the ice mobs? The desert mobs? The jungle mobs (other than ocelot)?

Right now I'm just throwing things out my ass, so I'll just get this topic started because I know that some of you have thought on this more than I have.

posted a message on New Updates: Your Thoughts
I like everything about these updates.

The endermen are scarier, the cows sound better (and have various moos now), I haven't tested many of the others, I've seen most of what the snapshots have to offer, and it's pretty epic. And to think that we will have about 5 more snapshots..

(And if anyone thinks that bats don't need, or wont have a drop, they're either lying out of their ass, or they're just dumb.)

    Quote from Locklear308

"YES. I totally agree all the way. Not every mob needs a drop. It just adds to the feel of the game."

    Someone make this a sticky.

Then you're a moron. Obviously it would mess with the ratio of total mobs in the game..

You've been cyberstalking my posts all day, each time I post something you just have to say I'm wrong, inferior and simply annoy the **** outta me. Stop it now!

Damnit, quiet you. You're really getting on my nerves. No one really uses youtube for Minecraft information. They either get it from the wiki, or the first page of this forum. And if Jeb were going to say anything of the sort, SOMEONE would say something about it here, with a source. And if you are quoting him then it's your own dang fault. Quit whining.
