    posted a message on LiteLoader

The install instructions for adding Liteloader to Forge seem to be outdated. On the front page, it says to run the installer and inherit from the Forge version, but when I do that the game crashes without a report.

Instead I have to extract the Liteloader jar (using the installer) into the mods folder; it doesn't mention this on the OP or the website, and I was not aware of it until reading a comment on the previous page.

posted a message on I can't find any Enderman!

If cheats/commands are enabled in your world, you could try typing "/testfor @e[type=enderman,r=150]" to see if there are any endermen within a 150 block radius of you to see if they not spawning at all, or just spawning in remote locations.

posted a message on Minecart speed

I mostly play on Java edition so I can't relate, but I definitely agree that Minecarts should be faster and more reliable. They're much more expensive than other forms of transportation, yet barely faster than sprinting.

posted a message on A Change To Beds

I think sleeping in a bed should cause a few mobs to spawn on the surface once you wake up, in places that they would normally be able to spawn at night (e.g. places not above block light level 8, sky light wouldn't be considered for this spawning). This would make sleeping the same as going mining or waiting in an enclosed space for the duration for the night, which would cause some mobs to spawn (unlike beds which can suppress mob spawning completely if you sleep early enough).

Also, I think sleeping should reduce the remaining weather duration, but not cancel it entirely (especially if a storm just started right before you go to bed). That way you still have to deal with weather conditions.

posted a message on Reduce the Wither's health from 600 to 300

Considering that the Ender Dragon has 200 health, which is already more than every other mob, 600 just seems too much health for the wither.

I prefer the Bedrock Wither's AI to Java edition's, but the health would make more sense if it was 300, like on the Java edition.

posted a message on Woodland Mansion lava fire (combusts with no player assistance)

Skeletons being on fire shouldn't affect creepers in any way. I think the skeleton simply misfired at a creeper when trying to attack you, causing the creeper to turn hostile to it.

posted a message on When did the "Support / No Support" thing start?

I would also like to know; it seems to have been this way since 2014 at least (when I was last "active" on the suggestions forum).

Personally, I find the "Support/No support" system rather limiting and would rather just give feedback on the idea.

posted a message on Will 1.13 change more than textures and commands?

The textures won't be in 1.13, at least according to this tweet by JAPPA. I don't think they're doing much else except for bugfixes and some optimizations (some people already seem to have better FPS in the 1.13 snapshots).

posted a message on 1.14 mobs. What could they be?
    Quote from sunperp»

So far, they have released brief videos describing the first two mobs (here and here) and the mobs sound really interesting. I hope that this voting thing is just a trick and that Mojang is going to add all of these.

Agreed. Jeb basically admitted how the game is lacking content in certain areas (in this case, oceans and naturally-spawning Overworld flying mobs). It just sounds like a way to add "hype" to Minecon that will eventually leave people disappointed that 3 perfectly developed concepts were just tossed away due to a vote.

posted a message on (Discontinued) Modded survival journal with Quark and Twilight Forest

    Minor progress update:

The world is now 0.76 days old (55 in-game days). Besides the usual mining and farming, I found a zombie dungeon which I converted to a very basic farm (it simply causes spawned zombies to drop into water, which I can later kill myself for xp or an inefficient way of getting iron). I also found a village and boxed all of the villagers inside their houses, since I have severe trust issues in their ability to simply not get killed.

Zombie "farm"; there is a gap in the bottom floor which allows me to manually kill zombies without them attacking me. The spawner itself is just out of view around the top-left corner of the image.

A screenshot of most of the strip mine taken in Spectator mode with Night Vision; notice the distinct lack of caves in the area surrounding the staircase:

The ugly cobblestone house now has a roof. There is also an enchanting setup behind the house (evidenced by the edge of some bookshelves showing). I'm currently not planning on improving it, since I'm considering moving my base to the middle of a lake (so that some parts of the base can be underwater).

    posted a message on AoA--25 New Dimensions• 330 Mobs• 27 Bosses• Skills• Quests• 600+Items [LARGE Bugfix Update, May 2018]

Well, this is an interesting turn of events. It was as if just last week this thread was blooming with activity. And now its dead quiet....

    [..]

I think I will stick around, at least for now. However, I'll have you know that I'm not sticking around because I'm waiting for an update. As far as I know, just because a mod does not update, doesn't mean that people won't play it. Even though mods like OreSpawn and Twilight Forest have not received updates for extended periods of time, people still played them. And I imagine that people will keep playing AoA, regardless of whether it gets updated or not. And you know what? There's probably some people out there who never update their mods, even if their chat gets spammed with update requests every time they login to the game, they choose to ignore it. They're playing the mod for the mod, for what it offers, not for the updates. So really the only people who are affected by the lack of updates are the people that pay close attention to them, and update regularly.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do about the Upcoming content on the AoA wiki...

This pretty much describes how I feel. Honestly the reason I come to this thread was never to see if there were any updates; just to see what the community is talking about. Even without updates, I was pretty active playing this mod up until Armakeen's server stopped opening, as I don't have much incentive to play in Singleplayer.

Honestly, I'd say that this thread did pretty well given the lack of development; many other threads (such as the Twilight Forest, which is actively being developed) hardly get 1-2 posts a week.

posted a message on (Discontinued) Modded survival journal with Quark and Twilight Forest

This is actually one of the first times that I've legitimately played Survival (Vanilla or modded) since discovering Minecraft in 2012, so let's see how this goes. Usually I quit after finding diamonds and making a Nether portal without building anything, but hopefully I'll end up doing more with this world.

The only gameplay-related mods currently installed are Quark and Twilight Forest; they don't heavily modify the gameplay style as large modpacks do, so it will essentially be the same as Vanilla unless I go into the Twilight Forest dimension. The other mods are all ambience/performance related (Dynamic Surroundings, Sound Filters, Optifine, BetterFPS).

Here are a few screenshots/statistics of the world, which is only 12 hours old:

A roofless base at world spawn. Despite being crude it's an improvement from previous worlds, where I simply set up chests in an underground room and call it a day.
