posted a message on Unable to play LAN games
Ok, first thing of all i am willing to help you because no one is.
    Alright heres the Soulution.
[THIS METHOD IS FOR WINDOWS ONLY]
Minecraft's LAN is terrible. Here is how to fix it:
Go to the start menu on the host's computer

    type in "cmd"

upon opening the application, type in the following: ipconfig

    find your LAN iPv4 adress

start Minecraft and open your world to lan

look for the message that appears on your screen and find the digit(s) after the colon (ex: local game hosted on 0.0.0.0(whatever the numbers are)

on the other computer type in through DIRECT CONNECT (important!) the hosts iPv4 address, then add a colon after the address and put in the number you got from the "local game hosted on... etc" message

    Enjoy!

Okay, so you have your two computers set up next to each other. The computer that is going to host the Minecraft LAN server must go to his desktop and click the start menu in the bottom right corner. In the search bar of the start menu, he will type in "cmd". An application will show on the start menu, he opens it and types: ipconfig. From there, he must find his LAN iPv4 address. The other player, the player who will join the server will go onto Minecraft and under Multiplayer, go on Direct Connect. He will type in the iPv4 address. Then, the host will open his server to LAN. A message should appear on the host's computer, saying something like "Local game hosted on 0.0.0.0.xxxxx" The x's represent a number. Now, the player who is trying to join will add a colon after the iPv4 address and put the number that game from the Local game hosted message. Enjoy.
