Are you out of your ****ing mind?! He adds a new ore, which people beg for incessantly. He adds booby-trapped crypts, which are mind-blowing. He adds Ender Chests, which are incredible. He adds more variety to villiage spawning and aesthetics. He slaps in a few other things like sandstone stairs. And you're COMPLAINING?!?!
This makes most LEGIT UPDATES look like crap. This update is PHENOMINAL!!!
Sorry guys, I totally stopped. School has taken the front seat for a long time. I plan to finish this over the summer, but here's a creative mode file if you guys want to take a crack at finishing it.
I think there's something about the fact that it has "bricks" in the name that implies that it can be produced.
considering it is specifically a building material, i think there should be some way to craft it.
and aside from that, there is no precedent for blocks like this. sponge cannot be obtained because it technically doesn't even spawn. monster spawners aren't used in the generator as a building material, so they make sense. every single material used in-game as a building material can be obtained through crafting except for decorative variations. And even some of the decorative variations are going to have crafting recipes, heiroglyphics for example.
would a 3x3 block of netherrack really break the game? it would become only marginally easier to obtain, and would, hey, allow you to build stuff with it without wrecking interesting structures.
well regardless of who came up with the idea first
pistons and kitties were mods to begin with....
how do they 'fit' in minecraft now that they are 'officially' in?
how do we determine what 'fits'?
to me mo'creatures mod 'fits' in minecraft just fine.. my worlds feel empty without all those creatures.
You bring up a really good point. How can we say what fits or what doesnt?
Personally, I cannot tell you. But thats the point, the surest way to know something fits in minecraft is that its part of vanilla minecraft.
I really want mod api to release, but I don't want jeb to feel like he can't add things that mods have added, because I only ever feel comfortable using features that jeb himself has acknowledged. Maybe if he acknowledged certain mods as "official" or something?
I'd love to see catacombs, i really hope there's mummies, even if theyre just reskinned zombies.
I'd like to see at least one specific mob for each biome. i'd like to see some biome-specific monsters, instead of just dungeon-specific monsters (however i think their plan is to keep it dungeon-specific)
I dunno, maybe a new biome. Volcano? Extremely sparse but sizeable floating islands?
So I'd like to experience some of the new content found since the full release of minecraft, but my world is too old. Which tools can be used to:
1. change the seed of my map (I don't care about ugly edges, I just want new stuff in new chunks) (new chunks are all ocean, at the moment)
2. upgrade my world generator to allow me to find jungles
I know I can use MC Edit, but I've built all over the place, and its a bit too big to really mess with. All I really want to do is generate new material in unexplored areas.
Snowmen should not have legs, but this isn't a snowman, Unless there was a name change. I say keep it, get rid pumpkin head adn give it a real snow head and make it inert and introduce something called a snow or frost golem that actually has legs.
oh be quiet, geez. Its clearly a snowman, but to please hardasses like you, he called it a snow golem.
there cannot possibly be too many mobs. And you're counting baby mobs? They are utterly trivial, and practically beyond comment. They don't take up any abstract space within how many mobs this game can handle.
I think lowering the gradient of caves wouldn't be too bad. I remember, back when Minecraft was in alpha, you basically had to search everywhere to find a cave, and while it was annoying, it was also kind of nice. Caves felt special.

So as I searched for a jungle (I refuse to just spawn an ocelot), I stumbled upon this.
The seed is -3691111310767300775
The coordinates are x: 1389.2
y: 74.24
z: 406.02
So far as I've seen, Jeb has not mentioned this.
Incidentally, there is a jungle right around the corner.
