I knew that art style looked familiar! I've been a fan of your storytelling for some time, but stumbled on this map as a happy accident. I'm glad too... this has been the most fun I've had on a skyblock survival map in some time. You've managed to removed a lot of the tedium, which helps shift focus to the creation side of the game, building your own little floating world. The map's limitations help inspire creativity too, and adding in some light adventure and story elements to help flesh out the experience makes it even better. I'll give this a proper critical review once we're wrapped up, but I'm really enjoying what I've played so far. I'd definitely be interested in any future maps you put together too. Heck, if you get the wild hair to do something ambitious, I can throw a few good builders and redstone people, and even a decent Forge modder, your way. I'd love to see what you can do.
I'm doing a Co-Op Let's Play series featuring this map, which will be going live over the next few days. If you have a use for it, I made a separate trailer version of the intro from the series, which links back to this thread:
Please excuse the hokey voiceover; I'm terminally silly, and couldn't get the Twilight Zone intro out of my head. Also, I'd like to apologize in advance for voicing the Herbalist as Bubs from Homestar Runner. Yes I know she's a lady-gnoll, but maybe she just has a deep voice? That, and I had some weird mental association between them. I think it's because they both sold me stuff, and the color scheme of their clothes matched.
Dude, next time you updated the map, just edit your first post! New threads for each revision make it harder for people to track down the newest version, and spreads feedback all over the place. At least post a link to the thread in your old thread, so people can find it!
Anyway, I tried this out with 8-10 buddies the other day; unedited videos are on my Livestream (links below). I'll try to have an edited compilation video on Youtube later this week. We tweaked the rules for simplicity; we had Hunters start with a diamond sword, and made it so they must kill their target to convert them... we tried out other rules, such as using Temples as safe-zones, some No Camping rules, and so on, which changed from map to map.
Linkos: Round 1: I start as Hunter with 10 players. Ended up being a reasonably quick game. Round 0: Mobs were turned on and more or less ROFLstomped the whole team.
Other rounds are in the library there, but they'll need editing, and are not as good.
I'd motion that this thread be locked, and in the future that Morning_Fresh just Edit the first post instead of making new threads... makes it tougher to track down working versions!

Hey, that download link is broken... was it taken down, and is there any chance it might be fixed soon? I've got a computer full of disk space, a room full of minecraftians, and a minecraft server full of empty.
1. An Argonian, Khajiit, and Orc from the Elder Scrolls series.
2. Legend of the Hidden Temple skins, for team-based games (Olmec for the Moderators).
3. 2 Dwarf Fortress Dorfs and a Kobold
4. Ruby and Tom from Rubyquest.
4. Geordi LaForge from Star Trek, and an Airship Engineer.
5. All 4 of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
6. Blue Crusader Girl
7. Quote from Cave Story
8. Ashitaka from Princess Mononoke
9. Wren Mk.2 from Phantasy Star IV
PM me if you want to use one. I just like doodling; they're all available for use.
I love this texturepack. Thanks for your dedication to keeping it updated!
Queary: Are you ever planning to design a Chain Armor? A lot of mods and adventure maps use it, and I keep having to mod something in, to keep it from being the pixelated, dithered default one.
I don't think so... the adventure is set up for up to 1-2 players, and we're going to be on a LAN (since my computer isn't really built to be a server). In the future, a big MP adventure could be pretty neat, though!

Me and a buddy of mine will be Livestreaming Billiardball's "The Redmurk Mystery" Minecraft Adventure, kicking off in mere moments.
It ought to be full of the proverbial lulz, if last week's Livestream of the Wizard Burgmund is any indication. For reference, midway through we were secretly hoarding our diamonds, and plotting one another's assassinations... when we weren't busy falling in lava and destroying plot-critical tools. A few highlights were at 35:00-38:00, 58:30-1:06, and 2:34-2:39, if you'd like to check it out.
Team Shirts from Legend of the Hidden Temple
- Orange Iguanas:
- Red Jaguars:
- Purple Parrots:
- Blue Barracudas:
- Silver Snakes:
- Green Monkeys:
I designed these for a Capture The Flag event on a friend's server, but they're also good for Spleef, or whatever other Multiplayer team games you might think up!
The helpful thing would be to compile the cause-effect relationship between what's happening in the game, and the slowdown you're experiencing. As a Beta Tester, that's what you do. Alternatively, unzipping your trousers and whipping out your gigantic entitlement complex, though quite funny, is neither helpful nor a way to show appreciation.
And so, what seems to cause the slowdown? And is it consistent across multiple maps, different display modes, and so on?
