Is this mod modloader compatible? I want to use your No Creeper one, but both use sd.class, so I'm just wondering.

Oct 23, 2010SolarisFall posted a message on Dusty Textures [DISCONTINUED: see thread for new pack url]Is the water supposed to be animated when it's not moving? Right now with your latest pack and xau's patch, still water is animated, and flowing water has a moving texture, but it isnt animated, the texture just slides along. It looks pretty weird so I'm just wondering if it's supposed to be this way.Posted in: Resource Packs
Oct 18, 2010Posted in: Alpha - Survival Single PlayerQuote from Grix »So this basically overclocks the system? Doesn't that cause overheating of the hardware components?
Updating your clock is no where near the same thing as overclocking your CPU. The clock Scotty is reffering to is your actual time clock, like any other physical clock you might have in your house. Overclocking is increasing the speed at which your CPU processes data by changing the voltage multiplier of the CPU, and clock in this case is simply a term to define each "tick" or time that the CPU performs an operation. This can cause faster wear on your CPU because it's going faster than it was designed to do. This won't harm your computer in any way, minecraft just reacts strangely when you change the time on your PC.
Hope that helped.
Oct 17, 2010Definitely perfectionist and giganticist, with some medieval and a little bit of unconventional. I am working on my first big project atm, and, it's huge! The photoshop document with which I'm making my plan is up to 33 layers and counting. I'll be mining an estimated 650,000 blocks. And I'm already thinking about my next 3 projects lol.Posted in: Alpha - Survival Single Player
Quote from shmasmasnash »A water elevator is used to get up, which leads to a very long bridge. There are bunkers all along the bridge in case of an invasion, plus every bunker has a button that detonates a single packet of TNT underneath the bridge, destroying the only way in if it is being overrun. Above the entrance is a glass cube filled with lava and covered TNT behind it, so that I can detonate it from within the castle to flood the entrance. Finally, hidden underneath the indoor wheat farm is a small obsidian bunker, with 10 locking iron doors between the entrance to the bunker and the bunker itself.
Just who are you trying to keep out? lol, thats pretty intense.
Oct 16, 2010Posted in: Minecraft ToolsQuote from CrazyTerabyte »Just found a small rendering bug in Minutor (Hg revision 24:9a0e075066f1):
I have this issue as well on XP 32bit, tho not quite as bad as CrazyTerabyte. It seems to happen only if I resize the window after a world has been loaded.
Also, I left the application running while minimized for a few hours, and after I opened another world from the menu, the menu bar and slider didn't work properly. The slider area was all grey, and the menu bar opened black dropdown boxes. If I passed the mouse over the dropdown, it would update back to being "open world" and "open", etc, but they didnt work and would revert to being black every time I clicked the menu. The slider still worked but I had no way of knowing where the slider button was.
Hope that made sense!
Oct 16, 2010SolarisFall posted a message on Mob tower + gravity/lava trap. 11510 items/hr (Updated 11/1)This is really awesome. I plan on building one of these and will probably start with that to supply myself with enough TNT for the rest of my projects. Since I'm rather obsessive and tend to go overboard when it comes to my structures tho, I'm turning the tower into a 32x32 octagon with a winding staircase around the center tower :biggrin.gif:Posted in: Alpha - Survival Single Player
Oct 3, 2010SolarisFall posted a message on what are your computer specs that you run minecraft on?WinXP SP3 32bitPosted in: Alpha - Survival Single Player
Intel Core2 Duo E8600 3.16ghz
4GB Corsair 1066 DDR3 RAM (yes I know some of it is wasted on 32bit OS)
Asus P5Q-Deluxe Motherboard
BFG GTX260 860mb
Antec 750w PSU inside an Antec 1080-tx file server tower (modular, and quiet, even tons of fans. Love my case to death)
Used to be the **** 2 years ago, now I guess its average at best :sad.gif: Still runs minecraft like a champ tho.
Oct 2, 2010Nice! The large "river" where you went up alot would have probably been a good spot to loop around to get back to your construction area. You can see that there is just a little bit of land connecting two bodies of water.Posted in: Alpha - Survival Single Player
But, keep going! It's more fun that way!
Sep 26, 2010Alright, so I've dug down using a natural shaft and another I created to reach to cave system that's right above the diamonds. Explored that one for a bit (it's another huge one, with branches everywhere) and then using minutor to see more or less where I was, I dug another small shaft to reach them:Posted in: Alpha - Survival Single Player
I started exposing the diamonds but soon ran into the lava thats right above (and below) them, and I've been spending part of the day turning as much of it into obsidian as I can. It's longer than just plugging away the places where it flows into the area I'm clearing out, but I think it will be safer and I'm getting some obsidian out of it in the process.
I think that even though this is a bug/anomaly and that getting this many diamonds would otherwise be almost impossible, it's alot of fun to excavate and I don't mind putting in some work to be able to get to it.
I'll post more pics once I've done more excavating and maybe a video when it's all done, before I start to mine it. As for those who still think this was done with an editor, well to each their own I suppose, there's nothing I can really say to prove this was generated by the game either way, so I'm just trying to be as upfront and honest about it as I can.
Sep 26, 2010So I counted the ore in Fear0g's screenshot, and its 33x33, which gives 1089 diamonds just for that patch. Since the other 5 squares are partially inside each other it's harder to count, but there could easily be 5000 or more diamonds in all.Posted in: Alpha - Survival Single Player
@Whilpoolwas: I'm not sure why you'd say it would be in a 16x16? And if this was edited into the world, why would I place it all the way down there, and not directly above ground, or into my inventory? Anyhow, you are surely free to think that this is fake if you want, but I think I'm going to start using this map again and try and find a suitable site for my project!
Sep 26, 2010Well, usualy when I get into a new game, I try to learn as much as I can about it (sometimes a little too much). And I've been going through the forums alot and the wiki page as well, trying out the programs I thought would be useful. I mainly use cartographer as a map of my surroundings, and minutor since yesterday (I've been playing for a week). Building is my main focus for now and I have a clear idea what I want to build, and I'd like to have as few caves underneath my site as possible. I have no intrest in cheating to give myself everything I'd need, as the whole concept of building stuff is what made me start playing in the first place.Posted in: Alpha - Survival Single Player
Anyhow, I'm definitely not at the point of mining for diamonds yet, and this is a world I'd stopped using anyway. There's a huge series of caves I was having fun exploring (before using minutor), right near where these are, just not quite as deep I think. The spawn point is really close by as well, I got sidetracked into exploring that cave early in :tongue.gif:
Here's the save! http://www.mediafire.com/file/gye2shvc05tgh2z/World2.rar
Edit: oh and there doesn't seem to be anything particular about the surface. It's just some shoreline and rolling hills.
