this is just stupid,i install it like any other FORGE mod and it won't show in my MODS folder (in-game,by options)

Good sir, with that attitude I assure you that the stupidity is on your part; there is a README file included that explains how to properly install the mod.
It has gotten simpler over time and I don't think it can really get any simpler than it is now without breaking functionality

    It works!
It is mildly annoying to have to create a new world each time, but I have my "super-massive world" save back!

Playing around a bit reveals the following:
Creating a new world, exiting, then loading one of the saves that used to crash on loading loads the save normally
Starting minecraft, loading the village-less new world, exiting, then loading one of the crash-saves produces a crash
Starting minecraft and loading one of the crash-saves crashes on load

It would appear that -something- isn't getting initialized properly, and creating a new world fixes the problem.
The fact that it's a null pointer exception lends credence to this theory

Good luck fixing the bug, Kinniken! This information should make it a little easier to track down

It is far outside of the scope of this mod, but I almost need some kind of shop to sell extra enchanted equipment to!
Perhaps more within the scope would be a configurable chance for an Infernal mob to drop an enchanted item?
I mean, it was neat getting diamond swords and armor in the early game but it was just a tad unbalanced. I was seeking Infernal versions of mobs out for the XP they give, but my chests were filling up...

Ah, life's been keeping my busy but today I've got a bit of free time before WWE Monday Night RAW's on in an hour and a half.
The new sounds for builders look like they'll be a good feature, and the reduction of the crashes is always good!
I was running fine without any sort of crash in a Millénaire 3.2.4 world and I had covered a LARGE area searching for the Alchemist's Tower when I too encountered the dreaded Server Tick error.
As it recurred on trying to load the save file several times I accepted the major loss and started a new world, wherein I discovered a small mining town (one of the add-ons from the library) near spawn. I sold them resources and made an effort to flatten the land a bit and it ran fine, but then I went out into the wilderness to see just how large the "Large Biomes" setting makes biomes and I experienced the same crash coupled with the same "game crashes on loading save" error.

These lead me to support Varka's theory above, as my experiences are in line with it.
Additionally, on the massive world I mentioned above I would have villages being frozen/active at strange distances; one village stayed active at 1000+ meters and another one didn't un-freeze until I was less than 100 meters from it.

Unfortunately it is rather difficult to create a believable female skin, as the character model doesn't really match a feminine form and the textures themselves are so low resolution.
There ARE mods out there to change the character model, but none for higher-resolution skins that I know of.

I do wish you the best of luck in finding someone able to get something decent going within these restrictions, though!
To make it easier for them you -may- want to specify the outfit you wish and include more pictures?
For instance, the you nowadays picture will probably serve just fine for facial reference, but you can only see a bit of the shirt you're wearing and the pants are not visible.
The second picture would be helpful with a second or third picture of that outfit to show any logos, what hairstyle you want ( although again, there's not a lot that can be done hairstyle-wise within Minecraft. :/ ), and so on. A shot or two of the outfit with different lighting would be ideal for determining the exact colors one should use for the shirt and pants and your hair as well, but that's only if you're not willing to accept something that's merely "close enough."

Wow, that was quite a wall of text! =P

Indeed! This mod goes GREAT with Kinniken's Millénaire NPC villages mod; simulating the world while you sleep means that children have a chance to grow up and new ones can be born; without it you have to either play through the night or live with villages that stagnate fast!

I follow this topic loosely all of the time and make sure to try the latest revision before my mods update to the newest Minecraft release and I've been enjoying it so far!
In a small world I created for 1.3.1 I let the generator create as many dungeons as it could to fill in the spaces, and I even managed to complete a few! :D
    I'm tempted to make a batch file to generate eight or so dungeons with randomized sizes that increase as distance from spawn increases, but I don't yet know how easy that will be to implement and knowing me I'll probably forget about it within a few hours from now! ^^;

Here's hoping they incorporate your patch quickly, man!
This mod is amazing, and I can't wait to be able to have sleeping in beds function normally in my 1.3.1 Minecraft saves! :D

Thanks! :) I uploaded it to the library, it's just awaiting approval from admins/mods for now. I'll see what I can do about toning it down, since I'm just now starting to play a new big mod that'll probably takes a chunk of time. I also have my village set to 85 (default was not enough for my village, for some reason, even though i cleared most stuff).

Ah yes, sometimes the default radius is -not quite- enough for a full village; I've had to clear terrain out and expand the village radius slightly in the past to make things work, although one of the 3.0* branch of updates was supposed to have done something about this by making villages more selective about where they spawn.

I thought the location had changed as well, but I have tried having the Byzantine folder in there too. It came with a "skins" folder for textures and other stuff, can you tell me where you place that? The source of my problems seems to be either the textures or the language file (console threw up error regarding those). I see you have the Misc lone building add-on, which I tried as well, and it also has its own texture folder (in a lower lettered miscellaneous folder - "miscellaneous\mobs\miscellaneous". Can you tell me where you placed those as well? Thanks a lot for taking the time out to make a screenshot and upload it! Much appreciated :)

    Oh, I had forgotten those!
    I'll show you, no problem!
You have to install them as you would normally install a mod; here is a rough view of what your "Mods" folder should look like:

Of course, the actual mods you use can and will vary but the main things of note here are the "Miscellaneous" and "skins" folders; the first is from MinerMiah's addon and the "skins" folder comes from Ticlon's culture.
If that's not enough, I have two images showing the directories of the skins files themselves:
    MinerMiah's Imaginations Pack
    Ticlon's Byzantine Culture Do note that for this one you will not have the Skins.zip that I have; Ticlon forgot some skins during one of his releases so I created a zip file containing all of the skins from a previous release just in case someone needed them and could not get them. This ended up not being the case as Ticlon quickly fixed the problem as soon as he knew about it, but I never got around to deleting the file! ^^;
If you need any more help then just let me know; it's always a good thing to see someone else enjoying a great mod like this! :D

That's really good! I suggest uploading it!
Don't worry about stepping on any toes; that was in my plans as of June and I haven't worked on anything for this mod since then!
I do suggest toning the scale down a few notches if you can, though; including the fence that looks like it will require quite a bit of the limited space available in a village, leading to players more often experiencing "Not enough space" errors than getting to enjoy your work!

I -believe- the locations for modded cultures has changed slightly; I'll download 3.0.0r3 and compare it to my backed up .minecraft folder from Minecraft 1.2.5 and see if I can figure it out for you all

Edit: Okay, after looking through it would appear that I was wrong; the locations for the modded cultures looks like it's the same!
In that case, this picture should help:

Just ignore the "1.2.5" in the path; I dragged everything in my .minecraft folder into that one before upgrading to 1.3.1. The "Miscellaneous" is MinerMiah's "Imaginations" pack. I don't -think- I had to make any changes to make it work, but it's been several months now so I'm not entirely sure!

If you plan on using any custom content in SMP, make sure you follow similar steps to install the content on the server as well, or it won't show on that server!

    I hope this helps!

Hi Kinniken. I really like the new release, but I have a question.

Which mods of the Library can I add? All of them? There are very interesting cultures and buildings, but I'm nost sure if they work or not.

They all -should- work, I think; I held off on the 3.0.0 branch as it was so close to the release of Minecraft 1.3 but I can guarantee that at the very least my Stables (Norman and Hindi variations are both included in the same download) work fine, and apart from a bugs (mostly involving bed placement) Ticlon's Byzantine culture works fine as well! Ghost1972 says his Norman Walled Town doesn't work as of the update that added the Alchemist's assistant moving into villages(?), but others in this thread have said that it works fine.
Really it's one of those "try it and see if it works! :D" things, but you can speed things up by creating a new world in Creative Mode and cheating in a Village Wand so that you can test it all out if you want the testing to go faster.

Firstly, WHAT makes this official? Do you have the blessing of the owners of both franchises?!

Well, It may pushes Millenaire to be SMP.... But, I worry if the mod will work or not.

Shadowclaimer answered the question before I could, yes.
I am a little worried myself as well!
I've got the money to spend to put together a decent server with plenty of RAM and a decent CPU for my friends and myself so it shouldn't be a problem for -us- but with a normal server all of the pathing calculations plus keeping track of multiple players could prove to be problematic!
I did put some preliminary thought into the problem but I was hesitant to post about it as the main problems I forsee are ones that I simply have no answers for! I mean, I can see the villager pathing and world generation being taken care of by the server and each client having their own reputation value without any major problems, but how do you decide what villages to keep active? Do you keep track of a radius around every single player? That does not sound like a cheap calculation to make every tick!
In addition, this will almost certainly lead to more villages being active at once. I mentioned this in the previous bit, but this could jump the CPU and RAM usage up quite a lot!

I'm sure you know that I and several others in this thread would -love- some SMP support for this mod, and with the code-merge coming in Minecraft 1.3 it -may- be possible. However, if you cannot find a way to make it work then I can respect this mod staying single-player only. It has been that way since it was first released over a year ago now and I have enjoyed every release! :D

...that's like saying "to get rich fast in real life: strike oil" or "to get rich fast in real life: win the lottery."
That being said, I've been slacking on playing this mod the normal way lately; with more stuff being added to world generation for Minecraft 1.3 I'll need to create a new world and I don't want to get -too- attached to a world that I'm going to have to abandon when this mod updates to that version of Minecraft!

If you don't mind me asking, Kinniken, are there any internal code changes you're thinking of for Minecraft 1.3 where client and server will run from the same codebase? If you think it's too early to worry about it and/or you do not wish to discuss this then I can respect your opinion on the matter; this is YOUR mod, after all!
