posted a message on THE NO WOOD CHALLENGE
I don't understand these challenges at all. I don't understand the point. What is the goal? To survive one day? To survive ten days? To get to The End?

This one in particular is bizarre. Without wood you're hosed. No mining, no tools. You've told us where a village is, so you could just go and live in their village and eat their crops. But you wouldn't be able to do much of anything else.

Do people actually do these challenges? Anyone?

People who actually believe in Herebrine, yet are still capable enough to press the "post" button. Amazing.

I only play vanilla. I tried a texture pack, but went back to vanilla. I don't see anything wrong with vanilla and I refuse to be embarrassed about it.

I build in a creative world, just to checkout ideas and stuff. When I get a house I like that fits the biome I go back to my survival world and recreate it.

Around 75% of people report either worse lag or equal lag. So not entirely baseless, and considering that most people use optifine, this is pretty wretched...

Did you read the comment I made about self selection? A forum poll is statistically meaningless. It's not 75% of all users who play minecraft. It's not even 75% of users who play minecraft who also visit this forum. It's 75% of the people who play minecraft AND visit this forum AND who think the poll is meaningful enough to participate in. But beyond that you have what's known as self selection bias, since the people who have lag problems are MORE likely to respond than those who don't. And some of them who say yes don't have a lag problem at all, they just think they do because everyone tells them they do.

All online polls are meaningless. Even those in this forum.

"1.8 lags unless you have a computer designed for gaming and with the graphics that Minecraft displays we should not have to spend 600 dollars to get a good gaming experience."

This is not the case. The huge of users experiencing lag can get a noticeable improvement by using a 64bit Java. No need for a new video card or bigger CPU or more RAM. Just use 64bit Java if you have a 64bit Windows install. The fact that this doesn't seem to be a problem on other platforms strongly points to a mismatch of Java to OS.

"You don't lag? Good for you, however, about 80% of the community would say otherwise."

Nonsense. 80% of the community is NOT lagging. I dare you come up with a valid metric saying otherwise. The length of this thread is irrelevant, as the sample is extremely self selected. I am not doubting that you have a problem with lag. But your problem with it does not translate into 80% of users having a problem.

If you trying to send a message to Mojang, the forum is NOT the place to do it. If you are angry that they're not listening to you, consider that it may be because you aren't talking to them.

Temples are actually rather common. Guardians are not hard to find at all.

When I look for them I can't find them. When I am not looking for them they seem to be everywhere. Just one of those things.

things that command blocks do are things for people who essentialy want mods but are too lazy to use them.

Nope. Command blocks are for people who want to do things rather than wait around for someone else to do it for them.
