    I'm playing 1.4 pre-release, and I tried to zoom out my map by recrafting it with paper. But in my first attempt, it didn't zoom out at all. So I placed the map on the crafting table with paper once more, and when I mouse over the output map it still doesn't change. Is this a glitch? Help plz kthnx.

    Call me crazy, but ever since they made single player run like a server game, killing enemies has been such a pain. I can't even kill a creeper without having it explode because of the slight delay in delivering damage when you attack them. Combat on single player just isn't the same anymore. Not only that, but world generation is just horrible now. Sometimes a certain chunk in single player won't load until you walk right into it. Every time you enter a new world you have to endure an eternity of watching yourself fall into an abyss. I'm ok with all of these things happening in multiplayer, but I really don't see a reason to bring it to SP.

    I'm sure that I'm not the first to complain about this.

    Once again, I took the portal and took the same one back, but it took me to a cave instead of home.

    That is the reason why it's not working.
    The Nether only has 128 layers so it can't connect to another portal that isn't even in it's range technically. Therefor it automatically creates a new portal for you.

    The 8:1 ratio for the Nether does not apply to layers... Height that is.
    It wasn't over layer 128.

    So I'm playing 1.2, and I made a nether portal. When I go to the nether through that portal, then go back through it to return home, it takes me to random cave instead. I destroyed the cave portal, then took the original portal again, but when I go back through it, it created yet another portal in the same random cave.

    Basically, I can't get the portal in the nether to take me back home correctly. Help plz.

    Overpowered? As if. It usually takes a while for someone to reach the point where they create an enchantment table. And then they have to get just the right enchantment by luck.

    That's a prize if you ask me. Don't complain about a great gift.

    I'm thinking they should be like this:

    -they never leave the village area and will teleport back if removed
    -they can only be killed by a sword and do not respawn
    -each villager should sell different things in exchange for ores (such as tnt, ender pearls, potions, dyes, records, etc.)
    -they should make the old school steve sound when hit (I personally think it's fitting)


    So far that's all I can think of. Anyone else got ideas?
