Naw man. For one, Dinnerbone has stated that this is an announcement for the distant future.
And when that happens, then what? Well, you can continue playing 1.6.2, or whatever the most stable version is the last thing you can play. This message is an early warning so people can prepare and upgrade if they can. We'll get more awesome new features, better performance and better graphics at the cost of lower-grade and old hardware not being supported. But honestly, those aren't the best or even comfortable choices for gaming.
If this were the older launchers where if this were happening then, you'd be screwed because you would need to get a questionable download of that version, or have prepared and backed one up, otherwise you wouldn't be able to play because you only could get the newest stable version.
With the new launcher that isn't an issue and you could hop onto just about any older version you want to! So, it seems they've actually started acting like the multi-million dollar company they are and are thinking ahead.
Yeah, I'm totally fine with this update. I don't play Minecraft much anymore because to laggy for me, when I get my new desktop I'll probably start playing again.

Doom was definitely an Arena shooter.
Anyways with the popularity of esports rising, and the fact that Arena Shooters are way harder than your average CoD or BF, I expect people will start moving to games like Quake Live and Unreal as they have extremely hard learning curves and are frickin awesome to watch as a spectator. Also games like TF2 and CS:GO are massively popular right now and while they aren't quite like Quake or Unreal, they are much more like Arena Shooters rather than Tactical FPS.

Both the PC's you linked to are actually worth the price listed. If you were to build the PC's yourself, you would get roughly the same price (give or take maybe $20). I feel like you didn't even like at Xiae's post.

Windows, believe it or not is actually more stable, better for programming and has way more software support.
First off, Windows is way more stable than Ubuntu. Why? It's developed by a massive company with tons of programmers, as well as if you have any problems there are thousands of forums online with very helpful people. Ubuntu is not run by a company with thousands of people working solely to create a bug free, stable OS. The forums are still really helpful for working around the issues you'll have with it and you can get lots of support for Ubuntu, but it's much more likely you'll encounter a bug that nobody can help you fix.
Windows is better for programming, why? Because of the wonderful program called Microsoft Visual Studios. There is no single programming environment I enjoy more than it. Ubuntu has nothing even close to it, Code::Blocks is decent, but Visual Studios outclasses it in every way. Also programs you make for Ubuntu are doomed to fail unless you port to windows, why? Nobody uses Ubuntu, Windows and Mac are by far the most used platforms in the world.
Also lastly, Windows has way more software support. Almost every program in the world that has ever been developed has a port for Windows. Every company that wants to make a profit has a version available for Windows. Also, you can't watch Netflix on Ubuntu (this was actually a dealbreaker for me).
In the end, if you want to use Ubuntu/A different distro of linux, your choice. But there is really no reason to use it over windows besides the fact that it's free.

While this isn't good, a 650 Ti pulling 40-50 does not surprise me at all. Now if he was playing at 1080p I would be quite surprised by the results (and probably call bs).

Or you know, you think swearing is classless.
Not to be rude but swearing just makes people seem ignorant and stupid most of the time. Of course it depends on the situation and context but in general that's how I feel.

You simply cannot upgrade your PC.
Finding a graphics card that would actually work for one is pretty hard, and for two it would be ridiculously expensive. I paid $60 for a GPU that is worse than Intel HD 2500, complete waste of money honestly.
You're better off saving money for a $350 PC, it's what I ended up doing and it works fine.
You could spend $60 and maybe be able to play MC at 10-20 FPS, or you could save up for a while and get a PC that can play Minecraft at 60 FPS. Plus a new computer won't die on you like mine did.

Tf2 isn't thaaaat great. It's decent, I personally never really had much fun with it.
Valve isn't greedy? Do you know how much money they make from game dev's who release their games on steam? Yeah a lot, like seriously a lot. Valve is greedy, just like every corporation (every corporation is by definition greedy), it's just valve is good at cloaking their greed.

I honestly don't understand the hate with Windows 8, I don't have any problems with it. If anything it's even better than Windows 7, and I've used both extensively.

I love League of Legends. It's got very simple mechanics but it is extremely complex and there is so much depth to it. The champions are fun and interesting but not confusing. The community is not the best, but that's really the only weak point of the game IMO.
Dawngate is probably my second favorite, it's very similar to league in many ways but the jungle is a lot more fleshed out and it has some interesting mechanics (turrets respawn for instance) and the item system is fairly simple.
Awesomenauts is my third favorite, it's a very casual game and has a cool art style along with fun champions. However there are 3 big issues with the game that stop me from playing, lack of teamwork, the matchmaking and fairly straightforward champions. While champions are cool from a design standpoint, they really lack gameplay. All champs pretty much play the same way and hard right click carries basically don't exist since burst abilities scale so hard. Matchmaking is absolute crap in the game and often you get put into a game that cannot be won (often you'll get put into a game that's already started). Also there is no teamwork, even in League 4 (which is where I used to be,when I last played I was League 6 and am probably like League 9 by now since I haven't played in forever).
Dota 2 is down here on the list because while it has great depth and IMO is the most balanced of any MOBA, the community is horrible (worse than league of legends imo, or I just get all the toxic players) and some design things annoy the crap out of me. For one items are like extra abilities, I don't like that at all (I can't really say why, it just grates on me) and the heroes annoy me (personality wise, it's not like they are bad from a variety or gameplay standpoint but it's like Valve was trying to make a cartoon). Dota 2 is a great game from a gameplay stand point I just can't stand it. Also pretty much all Dota 2 players are arrogant. I was playing a League game on my smurf account and we had a Katarina who was a Dota 2 player. She snowballed hard, because I helped her out a bunch. She wasn't that good at the game but she was so arrogant and saying stuff like "Dota 2 players can stomp League players" completely ignoring the fact that this was a really low level game and she was playing a pub stomp champ that no one actually knows how to counter below level 15 /rant
Smite is last on the list because I can't stand the champions or art style, played maybe 5 games and was done.

Honestly, for the money, PS4 gives you some decent hardware. Xbone just kind of sucks hardware wise, more expensive less powerful.
I'd definitely take the PS4 over my current computer any day of the week if it ran windows.

Both are complete crap, do not buy either.
