Me and a friend are both committed to different servers, but for the moment they are both down for 1.5 updates. So we're looking for a place to hang out if only until our home servers are up again, and maybe occasionally afterwards. Vanilla 1.5 is preferred. Thanks in advance for responses. =)

I'm happy to have so many responses. I've tried a couple servers recommended through PMs, and I've got a better feel of what I want out of a server... So let me put a small update here before I keep looking.

    IGN: Slait123

Vanilla?: Vanilla-ish. I don't mind a few mods. One mod I'd like to see is /home, or any spawn point mover, even if I can only do it once. When I build my own house, that's where I would like to spawn. =P Walking for ten minutes through creepers and skeletons after each death just to get to your home kinda sucks, ya know? In single player, I counter this by building my house around the spawn point... Which I know full well will NOT fly in multiplayer. lol.

RP?: I don't mind this either way. I rp on Gaia Online all the time, I've been part of small comunity there for years. In MC, I might be a bit disoriented though.

PVP?: I don't mind this, So long as I don't have to watch my back while I'm trying to build.

Griefing?: As stated before, I don't like griefing and would like to avoid any server that accepts it.

Whitelist?: I would prefer Whitelist, because it's so much easier to keep Griefers out. You can rest easier when you log out.

Donation and perks: I don't mind if people advertise for donations, nor do I mind if they give perks for doing so. I can't donate, myself. This is a fact because of multiple RL reasons. I consider it more challenging to play without perks anyways, but I still would like to see at least a one-time spawn point mover for non-donators. If your fine with all this, I'd be happy to play on your server. =)

I'm still looking for a good server, so let me know if your interested in having me. Thanks for all the wonderful responses, and the ones I've already recieved. =)

Why Do You Want To Join?: Because building alone in single player is fun, but it can get sorta stale. It's much more fun if other people can see what your doing. =)
Why Should We Accept You?: Because I'm a newer player looking to learn from the more experienced, I intend to follow the rules set by the server, and I honestly only have the best of intentions. I strongly dislike griefing, and would never imagine doing any myself.

Howdy. I've been playing Minecraft for a few monthes, and I'm having tons of fun in single player but I can't help but think it would be a lot more fun if I was playing with other people who could actually see the stuff I'm doing. =P

So, I'm looking for a Minecraft server that allows you to collect materials and build just like in single player. I piddled around a bit on some of the public servers listed on the main site, which gave infinite blocks but for what I could tell, didn't allow for the creation of objects such as doors or redstone. I pretty much just wanna continue playing with the single player mode perimeters... Just with other people, if you understand that at all.

I don't mind PVP... In fact, I've actually thought that might be a really cool aspect so long as it doesn't get in the way of the creation aspect. I've seen a few servers that seperate the PVP area from the Creation/building area... Something like that might be nice.

Having a few people to watch and learn from might also be a benificial thing.

I think that's pretty much everything I'm looking for in a server... Let me know if your interested in having me. =)

posted a message on Java SE Binary Failure <Revisited>
Last night, I was trying to mine when it crashed. Ended up suffocating in the wall, and losing 8 mining picks, 12 iron ore, 48 dirt, 37 coal, and a few Redstone dust, if I recall correctly. Decided to quit for now until I figure out how to fix this problem. =/ Rather not lose anymore resources if I don't have to.

I happen to be getting the same issue, more or less. I've been playing the game in offline mode for a month or two, and I'm still having a great time. The game occasionally crashes, which doesn't bother me because it's usually after a few hours and it's usually time for a break anyways. =P

But after the recent updates, I couldn't use my custom avatar unless I could connect to Minecraft.net, so instead of using the new launcher, I use my old exe which has been updated to the most recent Minecraft version. I've also received recent auto-updates from Java.

Between the two of them, I don't quite know what's causing these recent crashes... but it's crashing on me every half-hour to an hour of play. I'll be mining, building, or scouting then all of a sudden... Black screen, Freeze. And the only thing I can do is manually have windows shut the sucker down. I've never lost my data however, it's usually saved a minute or even the same minute as the crash takes place.

Perhaps it's crashing when it saves, Perhaps when it's loading a chuck, maybe it's a Java problem... I honestly have no idea. All I know is it's getting rather annoying. =| Does anyone have any suggestions?
