posted a message on Need some assistance with RAM
Recently I had problems with some RAM in my computer, it blue screened while playing a game, and wouldn't boot. I believe the problem was a bad stick of RAM, I have 4x2gb, and after taking the first one out to test, my computer booted back up and runs fine.

Can I just leave my computer like this now? Or should I replace all of my sticks of RAM? I've also heard that the slots they are in might be incorrect, do I need to rearrange them or is it fine?

posted a message on PermissionsEX Ladder Help
I've spent several days scouring the Internet and trying on my own to fix my problem on my server, but I am unable to do so.

My server is a prison-theme but with some very unique elements. Which will explain the names of ranks.

My issue: I have 6 different ranks, in order: Slave, Apprentice, Warrior, Gladiator, Free, and Governor.

I set each of these up in PermissionsEX and integrated them with EZRanksLite, allowing me to rankup. It worked flawlessly.

My problem came when I tried to add more ranks. I have three separate donator ranks, which are Lanista, Lanista+ and VIP. I then have two seperate Guard ranks, Guard and Imperial Guard.

I want people to be able to become Lanista or any of the following ranks and still be able to rankup.

So when people are added to the group Lanista they retain the rank they were but can still go on to the next one.

I was told to setup ladders but ended with a few dozen different ranks and even more confusion than before. EX: LanistaSlave, LanistaApprentice, etc..

This entire process is very confusing to me, but nearly every other plugin is setup and ready to go, I'm just at an utter standstill with these ranks.

If anyone has any suggestions, can point me in the right direction, or needs any more information to help me solve please post below and I will reply as soon as possible.

    Thank you in advance.

Why do you want to become a member? This server looks like a lot of fun, and so far everyone has been pretty friendly. Would love to join and add to some of the creativity around the server :)

Oh boy do I miss this.
Easily the most fun I've ever had in a video game.
The majority of the guard rules you see on the front page were actually written by myself ;)
    Fun times.

Put the java installer and the minecraft launcher on the flash drive, install both then delete .minecraft and uninstall java with the uninstaller in the control panelby deleting the icon in the applications folder when you're done.
You can probably make a batch file to uninstall java but you can't for minecraft.

After messing with this I realized it didn't work across Mac. What I seem to need is the java portable for Mac, which apparently doesn't exist.

This is a great idea, but would it work cross platform? Say from Windows to Mac, what would I need to do in order to make that work?

Technically since Java is cross platform and runs in it's own self contained virtual machine, and correct me if I'm wrong, but it should work on Mac, Linux and Windows?

The portable version should work similarly, then..

I'm still having no luck 4 hours into researching this. I'm close to giving up. This shouldn't be so difficult.. I would figure more people would be interested in portable Minecraft for Mac and Windows but it seems all links are outdated, don't work when installed correctly, or are just plain broken.

just gonna go ahead and ask why your trying to do this...

It's pretty simple. I want to play Minecraft without downloading it or downloading Java onto computers that aren't mine. Such as at the library or on my parents' computers where I don't want those files on there.

Hi, I'm trying to figure out a way to play Minecraft off a USB stick- I understand ways to do this pretty easily for Windows but I'm having no luck on Mac.

It seems I can get the portable launcher onto a USB for Mac and it works; I just don't have the portable java for Mac and I can't find a way to download it.

Essentially I'd like to have this USB to have Minecraft on it to run portable without installing Java and for it to work on both Windows and Mac, but right now it's not looking very possible, and many links and such that I've found are outdated or broken.

    Any help would be appreciated.

posted a message on Gaming on a School-Issued MacBook
Hopefully this is the correct section, I also tried to find topics similar but was not able to.
Now then, basically I have a 2012 school-issued MacBook Pro, and I want to play downloadable games (would probably just play Minecraft since it is a simple game to install). We are not restricted much while at home with the laptops, flash games are allowed but you unfortunately cannot download anything.

Before you flip nuts on me "YOU CAN'T DO THAT ON SCHOOL LAPTOPS IT'S AGAINST THE LAW", I've done a little research and my idea is simply to use a USB loaded with games on it. It's no longer a school liability and I'm essentially allowed to do whatever I want on it.

My problem is I'm not sure how to do that. An hour or so of internet searching revealed nothing on how to do it on a MacBook. On Windows from what I've gathered you may be able to just load games onto the USB and the other thing I've read is you load a different OS and then a secondary USB with games on it.

I have the materials necessary to do this (USB, ancient Windows computer (fine to browse but trash for any for of games)). I just need the technical know-how.

Any help would be appreciated, again I apologize if this is already a topic.
    Thanks in advance.

Well whatever. Somehow I was able to uninstall the program (don't ask me, I just messed around restarting a bunch and it worked).

Anyways, I still have the problem when booting, it won't boot automatically, so you have to get to the drive menu to select a drive before it will boot. There's only one HDD so I'm not sure what the problem is.

(PS his friend let him borrow his Logitech G15 keyboard and osajmndklabnsjdbashdjbalsd I've never typed on something more awesome in my life)too bad the internet is slow (it took 13 hours to download league of legends) or this would be just amazing

More replies would be awesome, I'm really starting to get quite frustrated with it because it prohibits me from doing most things on the computer.
