What's the point of this thread? The information here is just copy-pasted from the Minecraft wiki, except for that you removed some stuff: http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/15w31a

    Also, there's already a thread discussing 1.9 and it's content: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minecraft-discussion/recent-updates-and-snapshots/2331356-get-ready-for-1-9-information-straight-from-mojang

If you would like to see more minecraft info or some secrets contact me :)

What "secrets" do you know which can't already be found on the wiki?

The only thing about this idea I dislike is using Coarse Dirt as the paths. Coarse Dirt does not connect in any way to Savannahs, as it is not found there. I think Gravel would work fine for the paths.

    Partial Support.

I'm pretty sure that coarse dirt can be found in savannas. I use it instead of gravel in my suggestion because villages in deserts use sandstone for paths so the savanna villages should have something unique as well. I think it kind of fits with the dry landscape.

This wouldn't really bother me, but I would enjoy it, However, for a bit more variation, maybe the cobble should be replaced with bricks, or something similar?

Maybe, but I think it looks pretty good with the cobblestone. Hardened or stained clay might look good, as well as fit with the biome (kind of) as savannas can be next to mesas?

100% support. It only makes sense that villages would use the local tress for wood.

Support, This would improve Savannah villages, by making them like the biome they are in.

    Thank you!

Full Support, but perhaps pressure plates used for tables can be replaced with carpets.

Perhaps, but I tried to make the savanna village consistent with the plains and desert village which both use wooden pressure plates.

Villages can currently spawn in three biomes; plains, deserts and savannas. However, only the desert village is different from the original plains village by being built in sandstone. Therefore I propose that the savanna village should be more unique as well, for more variety.

The oak wood, planks, stairs, doors and fences should be replaced with their acacia counterparts, where would they get oak in a savanna? Other wooden items which looks like oak wood (wooden pressure plates and bookshelves for example) can remain because it's unnecessary to create completely new blocks with only small re-textures, also they can already be crafted with acacia planks even though it doesn't look like it. The gravel roads could be replaced with coarse dirt blocks, it adds more variety and it looks kind of good too in the savanna. The rest of the blocks should remain the same, as they can be found naturally in savannas already (cobblestone if you mine underground, black wool in the lamp posts which is obtainable from sheep, etc).

Yes, it's a whole new cool way to play Minecraft. Even though it's not exactly the same as the E3 preview it would still be pretty awesome to see your creation right in front of your eyes!

I live in Stockholm, Sweden so I would say mostly plains but also regular forest biomes as well as taigas scattered here and there.

posted a message on Returning to Minecraft after 1,5 years, now I have a few questions

About one and a half years ago, back in 1.7.4 in the end of 2013, I stopped playing Minecraft properly (by 'properly' I mean stop playing as frequent as before, not following update news, being a part of the community etc) so I have still played it from now and then until now on popular servers such as Survival Games servers when I've been bored. This was not an abrupt change, but something that happened as time went by; friends became bored with the game and I found many other games on Steam and also got a bit bored with it. Me and my friends had a server (two actually, we moved on from the first after the Beta 1.8 update) and after we grew away from Minecraft I've always felt that I missed our digital community. Recently I read parts of the server logs due to boredom (fortunately everything is not deleted) and I realised how much fun I'd had in this game for countless of hours starting in Beta 1.5 when I bought Minecraft, especially on the private servers. I want to try and get into this game again and I've updated myself but some things are a bit unclear:

    1. Bukkit went down, so what do people use nowadays? Is there a way to change plugins effectively, e.g. I want the homes and warps from my server to remain, is there some good way of doing this?
    2. While speaking of my server, do you think it would be possible to lure my friends back into the game as well? Because I want to play on my server but it would be much more fun with my friends!
    3. Microsoft bought Mojang, has there been any noticable changes in Minecraft?
    4. Minecraft has only had one big update in the time I was gone? Did anything specific happen, because in the past it could have been five large updates in 1,5 years? From what I understand there's nothing really big which could matter, but I just want to be sure.
    5. I might be wrong on this, but aren't most mods still in 1.7 soon a year after 1.8 was released? Is there any specific reason for this?

(BTW sorry for the long back story I just felt that I needed to write it)
