What if they either naturally despawn after a certain period of time, or forcibly despawn if range of movement is limited too much? Either let them fly free, or make a big enough enclosure.

you can prevent despawns by naming it with a name tag, and with a spawner thats not too much of an issue anyway as its unlikely that they'd despawn straight away, it would probably need to check how many ravens are in a specific chunk to despawn one, regardless there are ways around the despawning issue for anyone who insists on keeping the birds in a small space, personally i'd like to thave them flying around a large enclosure.

Ok well, obviously that's not what I had in mind when I made this suggestion. And before you say that it's what a lot of players would end up doing, I can't control what other people do. The intention behind my suggestion is in line with the Druidic philosophy.

i had a feeling, i really like the idea to be honest. I think its neat, i love animals. Hell if this was a feautre i'd probably build a huge kind of enclosure and have a few vaccum hoppers or equivelent littered about so the ravens could fly around in a large environment while i still got the feathers and such.

Huh? No. Why would I want to do that? That would seem kind of contrary to the Druidic philosophy of respecting nature.

Also, this question is very confusing to me. How would you even do that? Are there Minecraft mods that have cages that you can put animals in?

there are mods that allow you to make spawners for any mob, plus a cage could just be some blocks iron bars for example. Obviously its against the druidic philosophy but people like automating things and will almost always find a way to automate something. Especially if they wanted to cover their base with raven lanterns for example. Alot of players shove like 50 chickens in a single block space above a hopper to collect eggs it would be no different then that.

Since this mod inspired me to read up on Druid lore, I came up with some ideas that are in line with its theme. I'd do it myself but my modding skills are so bad I'd probably set my laptop on fire just from attempting this. Anyways, just wanted to share my ideas:

    - Raven - seen as a messenger between worlds. Therefore it will occasionally spawn from a Nether Portal. Killing one is bad luck (you lose hearts when you hit one). However, it will sometimes drop black feathers on their own. The feathers are infused with glowstone (imagine the glowstone dust from the Nether getting naturally caught up in them) that can be used to craft a "raven's lantern".

    - Raven's Feather - Can only be obtained by raven's shedding them. Killing them will not result in obtaining a feather, nor meat. This is because they are magical creatures and it is bad luck to kill them.

    - Raven's Lantern - Crafted with 4 raven's feathers in a diamond shape. Creates a black, feathery sphere that emits light at the level of glowstone.

    - Raven's Rope - Crafted with 3 raven's feathers, placed vertically on a crafting table. Provides 3 1-block tall ropes. These ropes are thin and black, can be attached to solid objects from below to be used to hang Raven's Lanterns.

so you would want to put them in a cage and gather their feathers with a hopper?

Thanks! Let us know when you stream it, we would love to watch you play with our mod sometime =)

Those ideas are absolutely adorable, they'd be super fun to have in the mod sometime! I'll add them to my notes. From a quick bit of testing mallow seeds don't seem to drop in the BoP biomes yet. Since searching for a vanilla biome might take a while, you can build a portal out of lit jack o lanterns and light it with faerie dust to get to a vanilla swamp that drops the mallow seeds! (you'll have to place some blocks for the pumpkins on the top to sit on and then break the blocks underneath to get the pumpkins to float!)

and lol, no worries about saying too much or anything. Thanks for posting, we appreciate it!

Here's a picture of the recipe, hopefully this helps. =)

I'm not sure what the issue is if that recipe doesn't work though and we can look into it.

We have a list of all the recipes here too, if anyone wants to check that out.

That's cool, you have permission to use Druidry in the modpack! Good luck with it and let us know when its out!

Thank you! I hope you have fun with the mod! =D

thanks, i'll have to do that and figure out how to get fairy dust, i've kind of been jumping around the differents mods i have installed. I'm trying to stream minecraft every monday and friday starting at 4 est, though with huricane mathew hitting my area i might be unable to this friday i guess we'll see.

Yeah, i realized that about kiwi's a few updates after i added them, its on my to do list to change them to a vine crop.

The bushes can grow up to three blocks high once they have grown fruits, they can take quite some time to grow additional blocks upwards though. So leave it with fruit on it for a while, and it should eventually grow.

ahh ok, was worried about that. want to have a berry bush grove of a bunch of different berry bushes at some point in my series ^^

I'm not sure whether i'll be adding much mythical stuff. But one thing i am adding with the next update is the "Mutation Station" which at the moment, lets you mutate seeds and fish eggs into new plants and fish, and you'll also be able to mutate saplings into weird and wonderful trees eventually too, and i'm also considering adding the ability to mutate animals to create new ones for a variety of purposes.

oh so gene splicing. What fun :D did you know kiwi's grown on vines. Also how come the bushes don't grow, i have a gooseberry bush, and its just one bush for ever it doesn't grow bigger is that intentional?

These are all pretty good. I doubt i'll ever find time to add them all, but when i get around to adding some more farm animals, i'll use some of these.

well you can always add them in batches instead of adding them all at once, will you be adding mythical plants and animals possibly? or stick with real stuff

I'd love to hear what other ideas you have for farm animals.

    okaysies here i go.

    1. Silk Worms,
    2. Goats
    3. Yak
    4. Camels
    5. Geese
    6. Turkey
    7. Reindeer
    8. Capybara
    9. Alligator
    10. Moose
    11. Mink
    12. Chinchilla
    13. Bison
    14. Muskox
    15. Rhea
    16. Emu
    17. Iguana
    18. Turtles
    19. Snakes
    20. Crocodile

Those are 20 animals that humans use for resources from leather and furs, to milk, meat and eggs. Some of them even have multiple species being farmed. Just to keep things Neat i'll put the 3 i suggested earlier below this so its all together.

    1. Ostritch
    2. Quail
    3. Alpaca

Now my question is if you want to have mythical creatures farms as well.

Those are some pretty good ideas for animals. I might use them for a later update.

i is full of ideas to be honest ^^:

though to be fair the alpaca thing came up cause of two reasons, one is that minecraft recently voted for llamas vs alpacas to be added to minecraft 1.11 llama's won, the other is its a really cute farm animal >.>

i could probably come up with a list of animals used on farms if you wanted.

well i know their are ostritch farms so you could do ostritches, also quails and ducks are also farmed for their eggs. Though the king/queen of farm animals is

suprisingly a lot of animals on the farm serve multiple purposes like alpacas which are ridden and sheared for their fur which is softer then sheep fur

This is an amazing plant mod, i very much plan to use it. I love mods that increase the biodiversity of the world. I especially like how you are doing bamboo, alot of mods that add bamboo make bamboo like sugar canes and saplings and not solid blocks, i've always found the more solid block version more attractive. In fact one of the main reasons i've been waiting to play 1.10 is for a mod that adds beautiful bamboo like this mod does, so keep up the good work.

This may seem a bit off topic but do you have plans to add different kinds of farm animals?

    This mod seems quite amazing, i definitely see myself playing with it in the future. I really love naturey mods >///.///< and want to stream it ^^;

I kind of see this mod having a lot of naturey aestetics pieces like fireflies in a jar, oil lanterns, flowery vines, maybe thats just me. I noticed some items from the mod spawn in swamp biomes, i was wondering if the mod would generate these items in mods that add biomes like biomes o plenty's lush swamp or if i would have to specifically hunt down a vanilla swamp to get those items if i had both mods installed.

Sorry I am posting so much, i just stumbled upon it at 2am ^^; today and couldn't help myself
