This is the continuation thread for Ovo's rustic pack, now slowly being completed by the community. We will try to keep this post updated as people submit textures. Find Ovo's original post HERE! All PMC traffic has been redirect to this thread. Ovo has let me know that he is currently done working on textures for good, along with playing Minecraft. However, he did say that he will try keep his PMC page updated with what we release.

Even though Ovocean basically gave permission for people to use his textures for people to use to continue on their own flavor, it cannot be said the same for those who have contributed to Redemption. You MUST ask permission within this thread or you will be reported! Do not PM us for permission as it will be ignored or you will be told to post your request in this thread.

Texture submissions are always wanted! New textures of missing stuff and re-textures of existing stuff, all submissions will be considered for inclusion (especially any missing textures).

The best description I can make of the style I was going for is by showing what's already done. But in a wordier manner, I would say It's inspired by nature, hand-made stuff and fantasy; relatively simple and round shapes with a few details; colorful yet not too saturated ; no flat color plastic looking stuff/always have a bit of natural grain.

My name is Jolicoeur, so I called it Jolicraft. It's pronounced "Jolly Craft" by the way. My name means "Happy Heart", so I guess Jolicraft means "Happy Craft". So maybe I should have called it HappyCraft, because I'm generally quite happy. But I'm not always happy. Sometimes I run out of wine. Sometimes there's no hot water for my bath. Sometimes when I'm changing my son's diaper, he pees on me.Minecraft is a game about crafting the world around you. What better way to craft the world than to craft the very stuff the world is made of? I had a great time creating Jolicraft, it's so addictive to create textures and see them live in your own world. I didn't really intend to push the pack as far as I did, but damn this [profanity=""] is addictive. It's as addictive as Minecraft itself, which is saying alot.This is Minecraft people. As with life, don't take it too seriously. A good plentiful helping of Jolicraft will wash the dust away from your dreary world.

Why did you make this 16x16? Wouldn't it be awesomer if it was 32x32 or 128x128 or 1080x1080?I love 16p texture packs. It seems the perfect resolution to match the style of Minecraft. The purposefully crude low-res pixel crafting nature of the game was simply made for 16x16 textures, anything more just feels weird - like drinking red wine while eating hotdogs. Which Notch does every morning at the breakfast table. Although I'm sure one day I'll be bored and play around with a 32x32 version, just for the fun of it.Can you please add more sidegrass?Let me explain why this is almost no sidegrass on Jolicraft dirt. I like sidegrass in many texture packs. Sometimes it works and looks great for the type of grass & dirt they've created. But Jolicraft dirt is different. It's firm and scoopable. The grass is a thin layer on top of the dirt, so more sidegrass makes no sense as it either makes the grass layer feel thicker than I want or it makes the thin grass all droopy. Think of my dirt like cake with icing on top, so when you scoop through it the grass doesn't instantly hang down the side, it stays firm. And the grass overhangs just a tiny bit to cast a slight shadow down the side of the dirt. It's that crisp edge that makes Jolicraft dirt different from other dirt. It's not that I'm against sidegrass in general, just sidegrass in Jolicraft.I asked you to change a texture and you didn't. What gives?I'm sorry. You had good intentions in suggesting a change, but I didn't care for it. Don't be angry! I don't care for lots of stuff that other people like. And I care for lots of things that other folk don't like. And I'm neutral to things that many people aren't neutral to. What a world! Can I?I get lots of requests from folks asking if they can use specific textures in their packs and maps. I don't mind if you use any of my textures, help yourself and enjoy! Hello, and thanks for taking interest in my texture pack.

One question that's often raised on this forum is "How long does it take to make a Resource Pack?" Mint Flavor was a personal challenge to answer that question by creating a resource pack as quickly as possible, while still trying to keep a certain standard of quality and make a product that someone might actually want to use.

It took me 36 days of work over the span of two and a half months to complete 100% of all of the vanilla Minecraft texture assets. Some interesting facts about how long it took me to make certain aspects of the pack can be found in the spoiler below. Sufficed to say, it was an interesting challenge, and I hope that you enjoy the end result of it!

● Blocks took me 13 days. With 357 blocks in the pack, I worked at a rate of approximately 27.4 block texture per day.

● Item textures were finished in just four days, counting the worn armor textures. With 215 item textures in the pack, that means I made approximately 53.75 items per day.

● There are 86 total textures for entities, which were finished over the course of ten days. That's only 8.6 entity textures I was able to create each day. Entity textures are VERY time consuming.

● GUI Elements were completed in just four days. With 41 GUI Elements in Minecraft as of 14w21b, that means I created approximately ten GUI images per day. This includes the ones that only have a few icons on them (because Mojang cannot see clear to use their GUI texture sheets efficiently), and demonstrates just how long it takes to get good layouts for these things in spite of the very minimalist style I used for the pack.

● Paintings were the most difficult thing for me to do simply because I had a HUGE amount of artists block. I couldn't think of what to do for them, but the ideas slowly came to me over the course of three days making my rate a measly 8.7 paintings per day.

Q: I can't read/don't understand/don't want to follow the license. May I just ask your permission?
A: If this is the case, the answer is "no you may not."

Q: Will you add mod support for to this pack?
A: No. This pack is going to stay vanilla only. At least, from me it is. If someone else wants to make a mod support add-on pack for Mint Flavor I'll be happy to link to it. I won't be making one, though, as I already have quite enough to do adding mod support to my other pack,

Q: How about MCPatcher/Optifine features?
A: Again, I'm not going to go beyond vanilla for this pack. If someone else wants to do it, that's fine and I'll be happy to link to your work if it's of decent quality. I'm not going to make it, though, just because of the time element involved.

Q: Are you going to update to the next Minecraft version, and how long will it take?
A: Unless I say otherwise (there will probably be a big sign at the top of this thread) I'll always update to the next Minecraft version. I generally (though not always) try to keep up with the snapshots, so the new version is usually available on release day or the day after. Usually. Not always. Do NOT pester me. No. This pack is no longer updating as of 1.12.x. Sorry about that. I did indeed put a sign at the top of the thread explaining this.

Q: Why don't you use adf.ly?
A: Adf.ly is probably the most reliable per-click revenue stream available at the moment, but I refuse to do business with them because of the practices of the advertisers they do business with. In particular, I've seen several ads that try to download, or trick you into downloading, software that contains spyware/malware. No amount of money they can pay me is worth the guilt I'd feel knowing that I contributed to even a single person's computer getting infected by that garbage.

Q: Why do you answer questions in mint green text?
A: If you have to ask, you're clearly not paying attention.

Hello, and thanks for taking interest in my texture pack.

I created this pack, as I'd assume many texture pack authors do, because I grew tired of the default textures. Particularly, I don't like how inconsistent they are from one texture to the next. This is particularly evident in the items. Some, like the food, are very detailed while others are very flat and have a restricted pallet.

To put it mildly, it was driving me crazy so I thought I'd make this pack to return to Sanity.

I wanted to get as close to a realistic look as I could while still keeping the pixilated charm of the default 16x resolution. I've also gone to great lengths to make sure that there's no need to use any mods, like MCPatcher, if you don't want to. I'm not going to make anyone mod their game if they don't want to just to use my work. Of course I've added some optional extras for those who do use a texture-enhancing mod, but the changes are few and mostly subtle.

I've been working on this pack for years to get it to the state it's in, so I hope you all enjoy it.

IMPORTANT: I very likely will NOT be updating this pack to 1.13 or any future version of Minecraft. To put it simply, it's no longer enjoyable for me to work on this project. The art itself isn't enjoyable, and I'm not getting any secondary rewards like praise or money. Given these factors, it's better for me just to move on to other projects which bring me more joy. Thank you all for your support and understanding.

A: I only add support for mods I actually use, which is basically none at the moment. Most of the mods I've enjoyed have long since stopped updating, so there's currently no mod support in the pack. Even when I did mod support, I tended towards small mods that add something cool and unique to the vanilla game. This style has fallen out of vogue in favor of the Mega Mods that we see today, so it's unlikely I'll ever re-add mod support.

You're free to recommend mods to me if you think they'll fit my taste, but be warned: mods that add a ton of stuff, or that basically force the game to be just about their tech trees really turn me off and will never be supported by this pack.

Q: If I master your style and make textures for [ insert mod name here], will you include them in the pack?
A: If I feel that they're genuinely in my style, feel natural with the rest of the pack, and you give me full permission to use them I'll create a version of the pack that contains them. Likewise if you make your own add-on pack and I feel it's good enough I'll link to it.

Q: Will you please add support for Technic Pack / Tekkit / Feed the Beast / Some other gigantic mod pack?
A:

Unless you're willing to hire me on commission to do it. I warn you though, I'm expensive.

Q: Are you going to update to the next Minecraft version, and how long will it take?
A: Unless I say otherwise (there will probably be a big sign at the top of this thread) I'll always update to the next Minecraft version. There is never a set schedule for this pack, though, so an update might be on release date or possibly weeks or months afterwards. This might be coming to an end, though, so don't be disappointed if this pack suddenly vanishes. As of Minecraft 1.13 this pack is no longer updating until I say otherwise. Sorry all.

Q: Will you update this pack to the latest snapshot?
A: Doubtful. Because I'm not currently playing Minecraft much it's hard for me to get enthusiastic enough to update this pack at all much less to do work for the Snapshots. I might do them if it suits me, but don't count on it and don't pester me.

Q: I'm not using the current version of Minecraft. Where can I download older versions?
A: You can find older versions and the changelog on this pack's page on Curse.

Q: Why don't you use adf.ly?
A: Adf.ly is probably the most reliable per-click revenue stream available at the moment, but I refuse to do business with them because of the practices of the advertisers they do business with. In particular, I've seen several ads that try to download, or trick you into downloading, software that contains spyware/malware. No amount of money they can pay me is worth the guilt I'd feel knowing that I contributed to even a single person's computer getting infected by that garbage.

Q: Why do you answer questions in green text?
A: Because it's easier to tell the question from the answer, and because green is my favorite color. This is also why there are a lot of things that I've colored green in this pack that are not often that color in others.

(Basically the history of it all and a little bit about myself)

It all started with the Quandary Texture Pack, created by ExtraNoise, he set the baseline for this pack. ExtraNoise was quite big within the texture pack community, widely known in the days of Minecraft Alpha for "sprucing up the default textures" and his assortment of seasons, by which changed the grass and foliage color to look coherent to the designated month and/or season type within the year. He would also contribute some of his textures to Rhodox, author of the Painterly Pack, such as the feather sprite to name one. But not too long after I got my Minecraft account, awarded through an honorable mention in the 2010 WoM Halloween Contest, I felt that his textures could be improved upon, or to at least have them look good in my Minecraft.

Thus, in the late December of 2010, was born the Best of Quandary Texture Pack. It wasn't much to be honest, but it had a purpose. Apparently ExtraNoise became unresponsive by this time, updates in his pack no longer came... and I decided to step into the scene to some degree. Bonemouse, a major contributor to Quandary for his outstanding mob textures (currently the author of his own pack, Isabella), supported my work, even if it was made rather simply through the basic mechanisms of "copy" and "paste." But then again it wasn't all that bad, I did some recoloring and knew how to apply smoothness... so I guess it was an 'OK' compilation at the time. Again, bonemouse was supportive and so were other members within ExtraNoise's thread on the Minecraft Forums, I respectfully gained supporters over time and met many great contributors as well as nice people, no longer on the forums now, but dearly remembered.

To mention one of these people, with varying fascination towards each one of them, Morgus was the first to comment on my topic. But what was almost ironic about the matter was that ExtraNoise sponsored one of Morgus' comments as a kind of technique in presenting one's own content with words outside your own; he said, "Love it! [...] Many subtle changes while preserving the original atmosphere." Morgus then says to my pack, "Nothing to improve imho. I am using this with great pleasure." (probably using this version at the time) So I was kinda proud to have that initially positive feedback from the get-go. By this time I had already created my own quandary-style armor models based on the sprites that Quandary had... and it was a good update; bonemouse approved.

Another person I'd like to mention, Axapez! He, along with many other contributors, had presented me with honest, unrestrained and well-appreciated, constructive criticism that helped this pack grow to greater demand. Eventually we joked about this "Axapez standard," whereas he would always have something to say for the better improvement of the pack, always giving me something to do as it would seem, and it was this standard that many appreciated when I upheld it, especially Master7432 and i_r_everyday_azn.

As more and more improvements were made, the Best of Quandary Pack became less of a compilation and more of a revival of Quandary, considering ExtraNoise was gone for such a long time. The pack was then called Quandary Reborn, but the name was only fitting for so long. Eventually many of my old-time contributors began to fade, but new contributors came in the process, for whom were many fans of Quandary. ExtraNoise also came back after such a long time, and later incorporated my armor models into his newer version of Quandary, but with much unwanted change, such as his new cobblestone, it had many of his fans find a distaste in the newer Quandary and sought to it that Quandary Reborn would retain the old Quandary as they remembered it.

My edits to the pack were entitled towards preserving Quandary, at least to the eyes of those who found my pack with much expectation, then to their disappointment. While many of my long-time contributors looked for ways to improve their Minecraft however way they felt necessary through the constructive criticism that they have always offered, my pack grew apart from the old Quandary look that many had desired and continued to take on a more independent role in fulfilling the needs of others who wanted an improved vanilla Minecraft look, so to speak. Two factions came out of this situation, but there was a way to resolve it. The name Quandary Reborn was no longer an accurate name for the pack it was, for it had grown more independent as I kept pouring more of my spin into the mix by making all kinds of edits to it's original foundation; all to their liking. Names were debatable at the time, and I tend to be very picky when it comes to names, but we found one that fit. The word "Coterie," by definition, was to represent a group of people who shared a similar interest, such as my fellow contributors at the time, then the word "Craft" was traditional generic for a texture pack name, but it fit nicely when it came together - Coterie Craft.

As was the new and current name of Coterie Craft, established in the early March of 2011, fully independent from it's original counterpart with a goal to provide a more revamped version of default by improving the appearance and fervor of Minecraft, the Quandary name, on the other hand, is still a good one but has often been forgotten and aged due to my pack's similarities and surpassing success over time. Since then ExtraNoise's work has been expanded on but not forgotten as the torch as been passed to a worthy successor. What was once a low effort remix pack that was supported by the community and the original author has become a beloved franchise of different orginal packs that provide something different to the player. Moreover, I hope this excerpt on my pack's history will serve some justice in providing evidence to the past and well-being for the future as ExtraNoise's former vision is expanded on.

The main resoucepack

Open Minecraft and navigate to “Options” then “Resource Packs”.
Click “Open resource pack folder”.
Download the version of the pack for the version of Minecraft you’re playing and place the zip in your resourcepacks folder.
Go back to Minecraft (you might need to exit the resourcepacks screen and re-open it).
Click the pack to enable it.
Click “Done” and wait for Minecraft to load the textures.

If the pack fails to load either assign more RAM to Minecraft or use lower resolution textures.

Setup (PLEASE READ)

OptiFine has taken over shader support for Minecraft. Go download and install OptiFine first! ALWAYS USE THE LATEST VERSION

You need to install this mod to use my shaderpack!

Download OptiFine

Once you've got OptiFine installed, to use a shaderpack, follow these instructions.

1. Navigate to your .minecraft folder (google is your friend if you don't know how to do this).

2. Create a new folder called shaderpacks (without capital letters) if it isn't already there.

3. Go download my shaderpack "Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders" from below and place the shaderpack in this directory.

4. Valid shaderpacks include .fsh and .vsh files that the Shaders Mod reads to tell your GPU what to do during runtime. These files must be in a folder named shaders within any shaderpack. Shaderpacks may only be uncompressed folders or .zip files.

The following is an example of the file layout possibilities for the shaderpack Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders v10.1 Ultra

.minecraft/shaderpacks/SEUS Renewed 1.0.0/shaders/[.fsh and .vsh shader files here]

or

.minecraft/shaderpacks/SEUS Renewed 1.0.0.zip/shaders/[.fsh and .vsh shader files here]

If this layout is not respected, your installed shaderpacks will not work. This is the first thing you

should check if your game looks like vanilla Minecraft.

5. In Minecraft, go to Options > Video Settings > Shaders. Here you will see a list of your currently installed shaderpacks. Select a shaderpack by clicking on it.

6. In Options > Video Settings > Shaders, make sure that "Old Lighting" is set to Default!

7. Click Shader Options in the bottom right corner of the Shaders selection screen (for v11.0 and Renewed) to setup SEUS-specific options. Here you can choose from Low, Medium, High, Ultra, and Extreme profiles, as well as tweak any individual option to suit your needs!

Some issues have been fixed from Preview 1. Some new features have been added.

-Puddles form when it rains and create reflections. This effect is meant to be seen when using a resource pack with normal maps. Go download ChromaHills which has normal maps.
-New procedural clouds rendered directly in the sky and in reflections (transcending screen-space)

-Cloud shadows. When clouds are covering the sun, direct sunlight dims.

-Torchlight color is much more mellow and less orange.

-Better specular highlights from sunlight when a texture pack with specular maps is used.

-"Smooth lighting" reverted back to old rendering mode.

Tweaks

Once the mod is properly installed, there are a few things you can do to ensure maximum performance.

-Run the game in a smaller resolution in full-screen
-Lower your render distance
-When OptiFine is installed, try toggling "Options > Video Settings > Performance > Smooth FPS:". "ON" gives more responsive input and more steady fps, but likely lower maximum FPS.

If this mod is giving you unusual results, please make sure that you installed everything correctly first.
If you are using this mod on a Mac, I'm sorry to say that I am powerless to provide Mac support. I apologize.
