I installed Forge using their installer, then dropped a couple of mods in the mods folder. Those both work.
Then, I put Optifine in the jar for the forge profile. Now, whenever I play the game, all mobs are missing certain parts of their textures, regardless of resource pack. As far as I can tell, it is totally random which textures are gone each time I load up the game. Sometimes there will be a cat with no torso, or all of the sheeps will be headless, or the creepers will be totally invisible, aside from their toe. I have thankfully never found one that was totally invisible, but it is probably bound to happen.
Also, I had this problem back in 1.5 while using the Bluevanilla Mod too, with Optifine. I didn't mention it then because I thought it wasn't a big deal.
For the record, I'm using Ubuntu Linux 13.04, if that matters.
I can get pics up soon too.EDIT: Pics:
Also, I found a new bug right there that shows weird things flying through the sky. The pics are in the spoiler.
Album here: http://s1283.photobu...ry/Bug Optifine
Best ones in spoiler:
Spiders missing half of their bodies.
What are those things in the sky? Like horizontal, flying clouds.
Toes missing.
More sky things.

Ok.
Optifine... I hate, but it sure is great. The improvements it makes to the game are great, but it really should be in Vanilla.

SSP, Optifine, OldDays, right?

It gets even better using today's daily and the latest optifine...

This happened with Optifine: I was exiting the video settings menu, after adjusting the Mipmap ratio, and suddenly all of the grass went weird. There were bright nuclear green edges to it, but nothing else on each block, and I could see straight through the blocks. I exited the menu, expecting it to fix itself, and got this crash from the game.

I get something similar. When I used Optifine, hostile mobs would continue spawning during the day and never burn. I'm still using a daily from around a week-and-a-half ago though... Probably should update.

The sun never moved in the sky. Not sure if intentional, but eventually it just went dark, like a nightfall. Then, it stopped, like I'm eternally in the sunset phase.

Error when patching this version with MCPatcher. This was a long one, so I cut out a good portion of it until the forum would let me post it.

I found a spider spawner in my alpha survival world. Nothing unusual. I torched it up, took the loot I wanted, and went on my way. Then, when I destroyed it (because spider spawners are fairly useless), the flames stayed there. Spiders could still span if I took away the lighting. Here are some pics from after I broke the spawner.
EDIT: Upon re-entering the world, it is fixed.

Would that be possible?

So it's unfixable, at least by you? Damn.
Well, I can still play the game with these occasional crashes. I just need to find the best settings for me and never change them.
