Perhaps you should add some design to some of the castle tower and jousting tower walls to break up the bland cobblestone look?
But I could never make something like that castle that blends in so well with the terrain. I can only build on flat land...
Edit: Oh yeah, what material are you using for the roof of your.. everything? It looks really nice, and I can't tell what it is in your texture pack. Is it just wood? I'm using nether brick stairs right now for my roofs, but it doesn't have slabs, so...
I actually don't understand the hate on this game. It looks rather interesting compared to some other games. And it's different. That was my major gripe about the last few games. There was literally nothing different. But this one has mechs and stuff, so it's cool.
Hey guys, I need help on my mage build. I'm trying to go pure destruction, but I continually run out of mana, and I'm always stuck without potions and stuff. I'm level 11 and this is master difficulty.
You're not including the wheat which is difficult and also time-consuming to grow in vast amounts or the lag that would result from having 100 cows plus the rest of your farm animals in a small area. Not taking a side, just a point.
I was assuming anyone would have a rather large wheat farm by the time they needed a fully-powered enchanting table.
Also, 100 cows don't produce that much lag. They really don't. Try it yourself. Use SPC and spawn 100 cows.
You are comparing the rarity of Diamonds to the insane number of Cows one needs to kill to get a decent amount of Bookshelves.
I've always factored in a 1.5 for every time I bring up numbers.
Because, you know, breeding doesn't make 2 Cows for every Cow bred? It makes 1. 2 Cows becomes 3. 4 Cows becomes 6. Etc.
That's right. I am. It takes a rather long time to farm enough diamonds for a diamond armor set. Same with cows.
Also: Let's see how long it would take to breed around 100 cows to kill, which would totally supply anyone enough bookshelves for an enchanting table. It takes around 20 minutes for a cow to grow. Let's say we start out with around 10 cows that we find in the wild. I'll be estimating for time's sake. I also don't have a calculator on me.
0 - 10 - Breed
5 - 10 adults and 5 children. In 5 minutes, adults can breed again, so-56 - 10 adults and 10 children.
10 - 10 adults and 15 children.
15 - 10 adults and 20 children.
20 - 15 adults and 23 children.
25 - 20 adults and 28 children.
30 - 25 adults and 36 children.
35 - 32 adults and 44 children.
Now that's 76 right there. I'm too lazy to continue, but it would take much less then an hour to get a nice 100 cows. And of course, it only gets faster from there.
Edit: Oh yeah. If my math isn't horribly incorrect or something, this is less the the time required to grow the necessary reeds.
By the way, we should totally increase the spawn rate of diamond ore veins. I mean seriously. It takes like, an hour to get enough diamonds for just a single set of diamond armor! The digging is pointless and tedious. There is no reason for diamonds to be so rare. I think we should take the diamonds out of the diamond armor recipe as well, but the diamond would be required when we enchant the armor.
Sure, you could cave for diamonds, but branch mining will always be more profitable.
Sure, you could farm cows, but you could explore and kill anything you see in your way at the same time.
Yes, this will make larger projects for libraries harder to do legit. But you already have to farm sugarcane. It won't make too much of a difference when you can multi-task.
Edit: Yeah, you're kinda right. Now that I read over my own post, it does seem kinda pointless.

Most people will have large amounts of leather an reeds by the time they want to make a 300 bookshelf library.

Ok fine. It takes around 10 minutes to make a large fenced-in area. Add 10 minutes to the clock.

They do get annoying though.

The same reason diamond ore isn't as common as coal.
