Just downloaded this, and let me add my compliments the the (no doubt) thousands of others. Truly a wonderful addition... and as always there is a 'but'. I did a thread search and found a post from 2014 detailing a way to shut off the wind blowing feature. Unfortunately, that method doesn't appear to work anymore, since the file it references doesn't seem to exist. As there is no option for this (either scaling it or turning it flat off), how can that be done in the current setup? The effect on bushes/leaves in particular make them look like green jello that people can't seem to stop poking... somewhat distracting, unfortunately.

Reposted to renew the question: How do I turn off this feature of the shader under the current version?

No difference by removing LiteLoader, so that's a non issue. I can tell by the logs that it is TRYING to load the Optifine JAR, but it's just not playing. Would love to get this back into the mod lineup, but apparently, for now at least, that's a no go.

Using VoxelMap, BT, Fizz. All the joy of Rei's from back when, but with more features. Haven't looked at Xaero's... wasn't listed on the only 1.8 compatible mod list I caould find, but I'll look into it as a possible replacement. Not that the one I have appears to be the problem.

Q: Having difficulties getting in game. Running FORGE 1487 (Understand that there are still fixes coming for complete compatibility here, but as others have noted the ability to actually get in game, I decided to try...) along side the LiteLoader 1.8 Beta. As best I can understand, the JAR file should be going in the .minecraft/mods folder, alongside the other Forge mods (and, coincidentally, the Liteloader Mod as well). I tried this method, and MC did not even reach splash screen.

I then attempted the Magic Loader method, with similar results. Using the test button, I saw that it dumped when attempting to load the JAR file for the game itself. Problem here is that Liteloader, apparently, turns JARs into JSONs, which the main loader is fine with, but the Magic Loader apparently is not. I set the program to look at the JSON, and the Log didn't even show an attempt to load, and showed "Invalid JAR" in the version box (which is kind of expected, as it's not a JAR anymore).

Since others have noted the ability to get it in game under similar conditions (The Forge part, anyhow...) I am looking for where, exactly, I am going wrong. Any feedback on this would be appriciated. My T/S efforts remain in progress, and will be trying it without Liteloader next (and man, I hope I get the same result, 'cause otherwise I lose the minimap mod I've come to really love...).

    Thanks ahead of time.

Recieved an odd behavior using AutoSwitch in 1.4.5. No crash occured, thus no crash log to paste for you. However, in regards to snow and ice, when attempting to break/remove them, it instead removes the block below them and removes the snow/ice from vision. This has resulted in times where it appears to break multiple ice blocks at once, but they are actually still there. Additionally, when trying to walk arcoss these areas, it creates a kind of 'stuck' jitter. When dealing with snow, it simply removes the dirt block below the snow, which is not a HUGE deal, since I can simply put it right back and the end result is the same, but it's still an extra step.

Mods installed (Via Magic Launcher) are:

    ModLoader
    Bombzen APIv1.1.3-mc1.4.4
    AutoSwitch v 2.4.6
    Timber! (1.4.4)
    Death Chest
    Lightsensor
    Sign Tags
    1.4.5 Rei Minimap v3.2
    OptiFine 1.4.5 HD_U D3
    TooManyItems2012_11_19 1.4.5

Turned all off to verify, and seems to be Autoswitch by itself, not in combination with other mods.
