    Ntz, I think you should add in some creepy rituals into the game.

    Examples:

    The Midnight Game: An old Pagan ritual used to punish those who have broken the laws of their religion. Basically, you "invite" an evil entity called the Midnight Man into your house. The goal of the game is to survive until 3:33 A.M and not let the Midnight Man capture you. If he DOES capture you, he will torture you by manipulating (or hallucinating) your greatest fears.     Dear god no. I don't want this mod to have insane bosses like orespawn DD: Well it can be insane, but not insane as the bosses in orespawn.

    First off, I'd like to say that I'm terribly sorry for the delay. My life condition worsened somewhat during the interlude, and I am getting back on my feet.

    To begin with, this mod is undergoing a massive rewrite. I'm not going to update the existing codebase, rather I'm going to port over what actually works gameplay-wise to Minecraft 1.7. I'm doing my best to code the mod in such a way that when Forge for 1.8 is released, it should be relatively painless for me to upgrade to that too (assuming LexManos is right about how painful the upgrade should be for modmakers).

    There are several reasons for the rewrite. The primary ones are:

    • I'm not entirely satisfied with the rewards the dimension offers for the challenge. I had a plan in place where the upper tiers of rewards offered would be along the lines of "programmable" tools and blocks, that could be enchanted in many ways to perform a stunning variety of effects. That plan fell apart after I realized that doing something like that would be very difficult under the codebase as it was then. The current rewards are generally unrelated, unbalanced, and most of the items don't have enough uses. Speaking of which...
    • The current codebase is "special". Some parts of the code had to be hacked together to get around limitations in the code (see: death system) and design flaws (see: corpseskin armor). Others were simply rushed. Consequently, it doesn't update nicely. I'd like to do things again and take my time this time in such a way that I can easily and smoothly add content that people will enjoy (or absolutely hate if it gets in the way of rewards ^_^) without long waits (see: boss, that f***er still isn't finished).
    • There isn't enough variety in the challenges. The enemies you are likely to encounter are the winter skeletons and their varieties, and the spider wisps. Wander into rugged terrain, and you will likely encounter a necromancer. The other two are exceptionally hard to deal with, are generally uncommon, and are best dealt with by running away. Most of the variety in the challenges comes from the terrain and from the enemies' AIs. There was once upon a time meant to be a madness system that would help alter the variety in the challenges by changing up the encountered enemies and their patterns based on the player's actions, but that would require some major changes in the coding of all the existing enemies.
    • A good portion of of the content is filler quality at best, like dragonstone. It needs to be removed or heavily reworked, and I would feel awkward making little adjustments that break everyone's worlds and gameplay with every small update, rather than just tearing it all down and starting again.

    • Terrain gen that supports all the current biomes and a couple of new technical ones.
    • Winter skeletons.
    • Spider wisps.

    Sounds like a cool idea, I might incorporate this into the events system.

    If you disable Scorchfire, regular fire is used instead. Scorchfire is only created by Afrits so it might have been an Afrit in a fight with something else that caused the fire. I'm going to lower the spreading speed of Scorchfire so that this shouldn't happen again. You can also use the /gamerule doFireTock false command to remove it like vanilla fire.

    I'll try and look into it whilst fixing the Scorchfire issue too. One block of lava on its own wont be able to spawn any inferno mobs though so don't worry about that.

    Custom items are added to the list of item drops and combined with the default ones. There is an option to remove all the default drops though if you want to have complete control over the drops.

    I've had a few reports about lower Nether spawn rates from a few people, I'm not sure if it's the gases mod or not but I'll be taking a look.

    Lol it sounds like you've had the full Lurker experience! I love hearing stories of peoples encounters like this!
    Updating should keep all your items, pets, etc, this is something I'm always checking. I'll put warnings up if anything like this might happen.

    Oops I've fixed it now, sorry abut that!

    I aim to update as soon as I can, I might stay around 1.7.10 for a little bit so that I can finish off a few things as a lot of people will be staying in 1.7 for a little while I think, not as much as 1.6.4 to 1.7 though. Once Forge for 1.8 is available, I'll start investigating and then finish off a few mobs or major features before moving on to 1.8.
    I'm looking forward to using the new Guardian mob's swimming/flight pathfinder. I might also take a look at those lasers and make mine better.

    I'm not sure when the Shadow Mobs will make an appearance, but it will be fairly soon and perhaps unexpected! :o


    I recommend using JAS (Just Another Spawner) als be sure not to add Inferno Mobs, Geonachs and other mobs that use the custom spawner to JAS or they might pop up everywhere.


    Hmm I shall investigate, should be simple enough to fix, I'll try and fix these little bugs tomorrow in update 1.9.1b.
