posted a message on [Help!] Giving a book with hover data? Experts please!
I have recently been trying to put a sample of text into a book (with /give) that would show 3 lines of text when a player hovers over it. It can already be done with this tellraw command:

    http://pastebin.com/BVUY9zV4

When you hover over the text, it shows an item tag.

I try to put it into a book:

    http://pastebin.com/BVUY9zV4

This doesn't seem to work. It says "Data parsing failed: Unbalanced Curly Brackets". I did not find any problems with the brackets when I looked at the command again. Can someone please help me?

If i were to testfor west AND how close to the command block the player is what command would I use? I tried using

    /testfor @p[r=1,rym=46,ry=135] but it didn't work.
also, when this command becomes true once, the signal won't stop coming from the command block.

As long as you have a signal pulsing the command block, the comparator signal should turn off once you get more than a block away from the command block.

    1. Go to minecraft.net

    2. Log in

    3. Click "download" on the right side of the screen

    4. A few lines down you should see a blue link for Minecraft.exe under "Minecraft for Windows" -Click it (If you have a different platform other than Windows click "Show all platforms")

    5. Minecraft.exe should have downloaded to your computer wherever files download.

    6. Move that file to your desktop and now your children can double-click it whenever they want!

posted a message on [Experts Only] Scoreboard teams difficulty - possible bug.
I have recently been creating a device for telling what direction players are facing in snapshot 14w28b. I run a fast redstone clock with these 4 commands running:

    1. /scoreboard teams join north @r[rym=135,ry=-135]

    2. /scoreboard teams leave north @r[rym=-135,ry=135]

    3. /scoreboard teams join south @r[rym=-45,ry=45]

    4. /scoreboard teams leave south @r[rym=45,ry=-45]

Commands 3 and 4 work perfectly fine, and I check with:

    /scoreboard teams list south

If I am facing south, it lists my name. If I am not, the team is empty. The problem is that the first two commands for north don't work. I did some testing and found out that they do work if the 4th command is removed.

The 4th command removes me from team north.

    Does anyone have a solution?

Edit: Solution found. I don't even need command #2 and #4.

    Quote from UniblueMedia

If this was my job, something I could do all day pretty much, consistency wouldn't be a problem. I would probably be finished within 2-3 months, but that's not a reality I live in right now.

I know you are doing the best you can. I just get frustrated that the best resource pack ever isn't completed as quickly as I would want it to. Keep doing what you do well.

posted a message on Problem with command block EXP shops
I tested it and found a solution. Make a redstone clock pulsing a command block that tests for a player in a radius of 5 with at least 5 experience:

    /testfor @a[lm=5,r=5]

Add a comparator after that, and then add your xp command block:

    /xp -5L @p

    Have fun ^_^

posted a message on Can we detect what direction a player is facing?
This is actually possible. Set up a redstone clock constantly running 4 command blocks.

    East- /testfor @p[rym=-135,ry=-45]

    North- /testfor @p[rym=135,ry=-135]

    West- /testfor @p[rym=46,ry=135]

    South- /testfor @p[rym=-45,ry=45]

Each one tests for the nearest players rotation value being in between two set values. If they are in those values, an output can be configured with redstone comparators. Enjoy ^_^

posted a message on Cubic Chunks: Reduced lag, infinite height, and more [The #1 Suggestion Thread of all time!][Updated! 6/14]
I remember reading about a light update issue earlier. Someone said shadows being cast over thousands of blocks would cause lag with Cubic Chunks, which eliminates the possibility of infinite height. I pondered it for a while, and I think I devised a solution.

Let's say a player is 5,000,000 blocks above the original ground. The player creates a large 50 by 50 platform, which would have to create a shadow below it. This should cause lag, but what if each block only cast a shadow, say, 500 blocks beneath it? This large platform would create a shadow that would resemble an upside down pyramid, but it would never reach the ground. This would reopen the possibility of infinite height, and improvements could be made to this idea. I'm sure some large areas of the current system would need to be changed for this to happen.

One example of this is a solar eclipse. The moon gets in the way of the sun, but the full shadow of the moon isn't cast on Earth. Because of the size of the Sun, the moons shadow is only a small number of miles across. Here is a visual:
    Solar Eclipse
Picture the moon as the platform and Earth as the ground. If the moon were further away from Earth, the shadow wouldn't even reach the Earth. In Minecraft, this means that the shadow being cast wouldn't cause lag and close the idea of infinite height.

Feel free to add to this idea ^_^

Edit: I apologize for posting a solution to the nonexistent problem of sunlight, but I would like to leave this here for Cuchaz to read later in the case that he wants to use it. Others can expand on this and assess whether or not it is a better solution than Cuchaz's.
