Bad idea, half block jumping means little ones will always be stuck because slabs are rare to find naturally, and it doesn't make sense for all mobs to be of a huge range of different sizes.

    2 words, Red Dragons

The future existence of dragons in the overworld are already planned, and they will surely be tamable and flyable, but extremely rare and difficult to get. The idea of having a bunch of lion eagle hybrids that everyone flies everywhere seems just a little game breaking.

posted a message on 3 1/2 More Generated Structure Ideas. (Screenshots.)
Interesting fact, many mods use the .schematic extension to place randomly generated buildings. These files are generated by copying something using the world edit mod, if you are serious about making structures, try saving the buildings using this and it would make it much easier to share it.

There are about 50 mods that do things like this, from hand held gun mods to ballistic missile launchers fired from a launch gantry. Plus, we don't need players being able to spew out explosions from afar, thats reserved for ghasts and contraptions that fire either primed tnt charges or use bomb carts.

I totally agree. These are awesome ideas, but you do need to give a little more detail.

Then take note of how I just completely redid half the first post.

Making them selectively visible and not able to be seen using exploits or cheats could be a problem. How exactly do you make a block only render for players but at the same time not be able to seen using exploits? The only way i've seen this be done is using hack clients like nodus, reliant, my friend's custom client, etc. and those only work on either all blocks or no blocks.

posted a message on Endermen Pick up Creepers?
To be honest, this is a terrible idea. In the respect of actual gameplay, this is basically a buff to the stealth factor of a creeper. The last thing we need is a creeper that we can not only hear coming, but not see coming, and even able to teleport inside your house and almost certianly explode. Sure the idea sounds cool, ill give you that, but do you really think its balanced? Every single person on this forum plays this game, do you think they all want such a cheap mob combination that its comparable to homing explosive arrows?

I respect your personal thoughts on this but not what this could do to gameplay and balance.

These are all goo ideas. But, as you said, these are rough ideas. Though they are good, you have to be more descriptive if you want them to be considered more. You have my support, but please try to give more detail.

I tried to give as much openness as possible to the idea for the sake of validity. Suggestions for new things work best when jeb and co. are able to add their own creative touch to it in order to make it belong. I don't want to make it seem like a demanding wish list made by some newbie, I want to give mojang moist clay over tough bricks.

You still have a point though and if I think of anything to add detail to it I will add it.

posted a message on Better control of tamed mobs
Minecraft could seriously use a way to better manage and control tamed mobs and/or control more of them at once. And by this I mean things like getting a large group of tamed cats or dogs to stand up or sit down at once with say, a whistle. Another command would be for wolves or others to move to a designated point. It would be extremely useful to check for traps ahead or the unknown presence of a hostile entity such as a creeper or sneaking player.

Also, it would be great to include iron and snow golems in the category of tamed mobs when a player makes them so they can be better used for defense. Some advanced options for attacking mobs like wolves and golems would be a guard mode, where they will stay and watch over a certian area. Kind of like a lead to a fence post but with a range option and an item that changes the list of mobs and players to be filtered as enemies and allies of tamed mobs (needs to be an item so you don't have to open a new gui for every wolf you have) and have an option to apply this to all tamed creatures you claim ownership to. Not to mention the ability to call off dogs from attacking your friend who just signed their death warrant with one left click.

While im on the subject of using mobs for coordinated attack and defense, a lethal ranged utility mob would be extremely handy, much more so than a snow golem trapped in a tower with cactus or fire under it to lure and slowly kill mobs. Perhaps it could be a clockwork archer, made of metal and gears, to provide area denial to hostile mobs.

Heck we could perhaps make multiple types of living machines like golems and gear based automatons that defend say, a 24 block area around where they were placed. So instead of wasting your time running around your big base to cleanup mobs or have a unsightly forest of torches (which by the way look god awful in snow biomes or during the day), you could build yourself a squad of mechanical knights that guard plots of your base for you and only need to be powered by coal, or tied into a machine that winds them up periodically.

As always ideas are only suggestions and the last paragraph is basically an attempt at wild imagination, if mojang can't or doesn't want all that mechanical manpower put in, maybe someone could make a mod for it.

posted a message on Wooden Crates
Large multiblock crates dont seem that great of an idea, a better one would be a crate that can be used to store a large amount of one item or a small cluster of different items, and let you pack them into one block that stores the data for the contents for when you pick it up. Perhaps you could use it like a care package and admins could use creative to throw around duplicate crates of the same set of items, say stone tools, to new players. THAT would be a better way to implement a crate block or item.

posted a message on Forcing texture pack for SMP server
No, just no. This is just going too far on what control a server can exert over a player, I don't want to have a different texture pack in my .minecraft for every server I join, and I definitely dont want them to force custom packs with things like invisible pressure pads and tripwires, or a pack which is used to screw with players by switching textures and basically troll them. Cheat prevention alone is not enough reason to allow servers to do this, if everything was then every server would basically have the default gamemode be adventure mode.

posted a message on Enderman rework
The only thing In my opinion that endermen should have is to turn them into a support hostile mob by having them intelligently remove basic building blocks from a place a player is in to let other monsters enter, say take a plank and drop it to the side then take the one above that to let zombies flood in. All that other stuff is kind of extraneous.

posted a message on Can't login.
If im correct, the crash has been caused by the popular modpack tekkit being updated and all the people who use that modpack are what caused the crash, the crash is still disrupting login servers because everyone is taking the predictable action of impatiently spamming connect on their clients making the situation worse. If you are one of the ones who cant log on, wait at least 30 seconds between connection attempts in a hope that the servers will go under less stress and have a chance to come back online
