Maybe you could make smaller/less visible pressure plates that can be placed in any direction?
Or just pressure plates that can be placed in any direction.
That way you can activate a circuit by jumping and hitting it with your head, or jumping against a wall.
As well as buttons that can be placed in any direction.
I don't think it's that important, but it'd allow for more diverse circuits, it's just an aesthetic.
Version 1.5.1 is released! This one does a bug fix and some code optimizations, but the big addition is that paste faces now all have their own redstone current strengths. This also means that redstone strength now decrements as it travels within a block space. This could affect existing builds. Stick with v1.5 if necessary. But the more compact circuits this can allow should be worth the update.
Probably could have released this sooner, since it feels like I've just been sitting on it for a few days while busy with other things, but I wanted to be as certain as possible that I didn't break anything with this update. It was a significant change to the redstone propagation code, and there could still have been something I missed, so just let me know if you notice anything funny.
It did make my circuits work like expected instead of having the current jump between faces.
And either the update fixed that slab problem, or it was just my computer being retarded.
There seems to be certain circumstances where that happens other than the torch, but I never considered it serious enough to dig for the cause. It's still on the todo list though. And it's nice to have a specific example to use as a test now.
This is one I haven't seen and just can't manage to recreate. I put a slab on paste, then put a slab on top of that slab, in various positions. I tried in 1.5.2, 1.6.2, and 1.6.4, even adding in Optifine for the latter two, and no go. Looks like the entire chunk is failing to render from best I can tell.
If you use Optifine, it might help to know if there's any specific settings you use to recreate the scenario with. Also, the version of Minecraft you use.
Otherwise, I'd need a list of the mods you have installed to start trying to track down some kind of incompatibility perhaps.
I am using minecraft version 1.6.4, and the recommended build of forge for it. I don't use optifine. The only mod I have installed is the latest version of RedstonePaste, via the mods folder, not directly in the jar. I was going to put a recording of it happening, but it didn't happen again.
RedPower had an inverter which worked very similar to how you describe.
I think that a repeater which has multiple outputs could potentially be handy, but only in limited situations where you need a very compact circuit. Otherwise you can already split the output of a sticky repeater with paste, you just do it from the front. You also wouldn't be able to lock a repeater of that kind, although admittedly I doubt many people use the locking feature to begin with.
This all being said, if I ever do decide to just release a companion mod with logic gates and stuff, then this would be one I would add, because people could indeed find uses for it.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by a smaller, easier to conceal power source. You mean like an alternative to a redstone torch or lever? I've somewhat thought about adding a redstone paste torch, which you'd be able to put a half-slab over. Other than that, though, I don't really have any ideas for such a thing.
I tend to try to make my circuits as compact as I possibly can, so that's why I suggested such a thing.
As for the redstone paste torch, that's what I was suggesting, I just could not for the life of me find a way to describe it, I went stupid for a second there XD
Although a switch that you could put half slabs over would be cool too.
One thing I just noticed
If you place redstone paste near a redstone torch, then shift click or click the torch on the side with redstone paste, it duplicates if you're in creative, or just drops if you're in survival.
It's not really a problem, as I doubt anyone would purposely do that.
Also, placing slabs on slabs placed over redstone paste makes minecraft go weird.
I've got a suggestion
I have no idea if this is already in another mod, since I never use any redstone mods, I tried RedPower I think, and it was too confusing.
What my suggestion is, is something along the lines of a redstone repeater, but it can power in 3 directions, and be powered by 1 direction, it should have multiple modes that can be switched through via right clicking without crouching. And the texture should resemble the mode. It should amplify the current just like a repeater, just allow more directions, I made a little top down view sketch of how it would work.
It could also have a delay, which could be changed by right clicking while crouching. It could add a new perspective on circuits, and make them more compact when trying to turn.
Thanks for all your work on this mod, I'm working on a rather extensive circuit that wouldn't be as easily possible without it.
If you could also create a smaller/easier to conceal power source, that'd really help tons.
I also modified some textures to help you visualize how it might look
I love this mod.
I like how you can now have what appears to be a 1 block gap between parts.
It has the same functionality as putting it on the ground, it just makes for a more cool looking circuit.

Hi there. I'm ShadowFiendZX as my username might suggest.
Me and My friend SBuenano (As of right now 09/10/2012 4:27 EST he has yet to make an account here)
are making a mod. It is called ShadowCraft. The most recent version is for 1.3.2.
It requires Modloader.
It has 4 different ores, 4 ingots, one item that comes right from the ore, a bomb, an altimeter, a bow and some arrows, and a block. I got inspired by the Elemental arrows mod and decided to make something like it in this mod.
I'm going to start working on adding a dimension soon.
I'm planning on adding armor and weapons, almost done with the sprites, there are alot of them.
Alright
so without further ado I'll start listing features and give the link.
Features: Version 1.0
Darkonium Ore
Spawns naturally, emits shadows, resistant to explosives.
Darkonium Ingot
Made from cooking Darkonium Ore in a furnace
Will be used for making armor, weapons , etc
used in the Unobtainium Ore recipe
Copper Ore
Spawns naturally, resistant to explosives.
Copper Ingot
Made from cooking Copper Ore in a furnace
Will be used for making armor, weapons , etc
used in the Unobtainium Ore recipe
Used in the Atom bomb recipe

Alright I've been working on the dimension on and off for a bit.
There seems to be an error with the textures.
I am working on fixing it.
I am re-decompiling now.
Here's a few screenshots of it.
this one is near the portal from in the dimension
this one is the portal from outside the dimension
this one is the trees right near the portal (the portal is right in the lower left corner)
09/22/12 10:08 pm EST
I just added tools, weapons, and armor for Darkonium, Brightonium, and Unobtainium.
I'll post screenshots tomorrow. There's ALOT of stuff I added. More info on that when I finish sprites.
9/23/13 9:16 am EST
I just got permission from xSmallDeadGuyx to use his creepers in my mod.
Check out the forum for his mod here http://www.minecraft...and-spawn-eggs/
Note* with all the stuff I'm adding to my mod, it won't really be compatible with other mods because of all the ids I'm using.
When I update the mod you'll need to install these mods in this order
Risugami's modloader http://adf.ly/1849S
Pudelhund's dimension api http://www.mediafire...754uob2csxpgp5c
too many items or any other mod like it (optional)
then shadowcraft
09/26/12 12:27 EST
ShadowCraft 2.0.2
Alright! I got the dimension working, spent alot of time on the textures. It's not complete, gonna add more ores and maybe spawn caves and stuff.
In the dimension are the creepers, and my new entity called the Element Master.
to make the portal you need to craft Bloodstone
W,B,W
R,L,R
W,B,W
W= water bucket
B = bone
R= redstone
L= lava bucket
after getting the 14 bloodstone place it like a normal portal then light it.
To make this mod work download magic launcher http://adf.ly/404181...ncher_0.9.9.exe
Download Modloader http://adf.ly/1849S
Download Pudelhund's dimension api http://www.mediafire...754uob2csxpgp5c
download too many items or not enough items or something like that
then download the most recent version of ShadowCraft
10/4/10 reupload with a few changes https://hotfile.com/dl/174953293/21e94ed/ShadowCraft_2.0.3.zip.html
adds capes
After downloading everything
Make sure you have a minecraft.jar with NO mods installed
run magic launcher
click setup
find the add button on the right
first add Modloader
then Dimension API
then the too many items or something like it if you want
then ShadowCraft
DON'T remove anything from the zips, magic launcher loads them right from the zips
ENJOY
