You have all these industrial mods, but you don't have one with air pollution. Minecraft Forums, I'm ashamed of you!
Seriously, if we had a mod that's like a high-powered furnace the burns four times as many items, but requires the construction of a vent which taints the air, reducing spawn rates for friendly mobs and killing plant life. I might actually be tempted in getting an industrial mod.
Other elements: Flammable air, acid rain in high toxicity zones, perhaps it gets misty and foggy when you're standing in impure space, maybe you might be able to craft something later on when you get diamonds that helps purify the air when attached to existing vents.
Sneak to the front of the soul sand, then sneak a tiny bit back, then try to jump, I've been able to get to the other end a lot more times when I did this than anything else.
1. Find the creeper
2. If the creeper snuck up on you, run to an area where the creeper cannot reach.
3. Pull out/forge an iron sword.
4. Run in and pummel the crap out of it before it explodes.
5. ???
6. Profit!
You kill hundreds of hundreds of creepers, spiders, skeletons, and zombies just to get some materials to make a bow. You separate hundreds of hundreds of mobs from their families. Solution: Notch should remove mob towers because they're evil and you yourself become the heartless monster that robs them of everything.
Mob Towers take hours of work, thousands upon thousands of blocks to construct, and pages of planning. It's safe to say that a mob farmer/grinder isn't much of an exploit, its a lot of a work, and the payoff for all that work seems reasonable.
To me, if an exploit gives you a lot, but requires that you give a lot too in order to make it happen, it shouldn't be removed.

Maybe you could replace it with a plant that drops or can be crafted into 3-4 iron ingots. :3c

I'm using the Better Blocks mod here, and I'm using the DokuCraft Texture Pack.
I'm probably going to try the challenge again, because I have cheated quite a bit, plus I'm having so much fun attempting it.

Vote on this! Expand on the idea if you wish.

OMG! Those are, like, the nicest shoes ever, it'd be, like, a shame if something totally happened to them or something.
Sorry Minecrafters!

Chests aren't guaranteed.
If you get lucky you'll find a 2x2 box of pure diamonds

I was attacked TWO times by a creeper that had spawned in the tower, while going down, both times were lethal.
Oh and the tower is only 5x5 (including walls, with a long pillar in the center.)

This too.
Education is very important, how are you supposed to get anywhere in life if you spend your learning life punching trees?
