(You can probably tell by my oh-so-overused thread title... And I'm on a Mac.)
I'm one of those horrible people who likes to play computer games but doesn't know anything about computers, so just keep this information in mind.
About a month ago, I installed Single Player Commands, (Which took me about 4 hours... I'm a moron. Don't judge me.) and when I finally got it installed it worked fine, but more recently, I've been finding it to be a bit too cheaty, so I tried to wean myself off the addiction by uninstalling SPC, installing TooManyItems, and playing survival island maps without using mods for hours at a time. I think I could have pulled off the latter of the three, but the first two steps prevented me from doing so.
Here was my sadly mistaken thought process:
"Well, if I uninstall Single Player Commands, and I can't figure out how to install TooManyItems, then I'll be left with nothing, and I'll probably end up killing myself in a bathroom from mod withdrawal... Yeah... I'm installing it first."
So I downloaded the files and followed the instructions on the forum page. These instructions turned out to be a bit misleading. (REMINDER: I'm on a Mac.)

Okay, fine. They weren't misleading at all. I'm just a clip-on frigging tie... A MORON.
Well, as it turns out, I misread the directions which CLEARLY stated to rename the minecraft.jar FILE to minecraft.jar.zip. I had already renamed this FILE to a backup title from when I installed SPC, so I ballsed up once again and went for the minecraft.jar FOLDER.
Yes. It gets considerably worse from here.
So after I had stuffed the mod files into this folder, still half-full of SPC files, I booted up Minecraft eager to see my new mod in action. I logged in, and got a screen saying "Download complete" or something. The one you get when you update the game. Then, being the fool I am, I thought I could easily fix it, so I went on YouTube, found a tutorial, and realized my mistakes. Then I downloaded the mod again, just so I could see exactly which files were the TMI files. I proceeded to delete these files. Unfortunately, among these was the ".id" file. After I had deleted this, I went into minecraft, got past the usual "Download" screen, and then blackscreened. I realized that ".id" was probably important, so I dug it out of my trash bin, and crammed it back into my minecraft.jar folder. I booted up Minecraft once again, and relished in my successful retreat... For about 3 and a half minutes. Then I tried to open my inventory. Suddenly, the game said "SAVING CHUNKS," and then blackscreened. This happened every time, and also happened when I went into crafting tables, so I got desperate, admitted I needed professional help, (that's you.) and came here.
In short:
1. Help me fix Minecraft.
2. Help me get rid of SPC, which THANK GOD I didn't try on my own.
3. Help me install TMI without breaking EVERYTHING.
My friend lives a block away from me and has a mac with Minecraft. I have xp. We've been trying to play with me hosting the server, but it wouldn't work. We got close once when I used my ip with the port. I could connect but he couldn't. Can anyone help? (Don't know what port forwarding is).
A lot of people are confusing the release of 1.8 with the official release of Minecraft. lol, don't worry Nekar, 1.8 is coming out later this month or early September.
Recently I came back to minecraft and found a few worlds that I never made. My question is how did they end up on my computer and should i change my password?
I know this is a stupid question, but has somebody made an endermen mod yet, not that I'm looking for it but I'm just curios if somebody has made it yet
im in complete agreeance(is that a word?). no one has the right to a word. i could see it making sense if both names were the same. thats like legend of zelda franchise suing every game with legend in their name cause zelda came first. i thinks its just unnecessary
I'm ALWAYS watching the videos on here and youtube, watch between here and youtube about 3-4 hours of it a day! Know what's original content or not.:) Love to help you guys. Im pretty laid back and find i would be a good choice.
