posted a message on Yo put notch apples back!

This is a really bad update. I like things that are sustainable, not being able to craft them is certainly not sustainable for people who don't mod or cheat.. I hope they change it back or at least give a new recipe for them. Obviously this fix probably wouldn't change PVP for most people because public servers that you would PVP on will still probably have plugins with shops where you can buy them, or kits that give them. This change will mostly just effect single player worlds and vanilla servers.

posted a message on Curing Zombie villagers broken?

I had no problem curing zombie villagers in versions up to 1.8 without iron bars, I even had 2 cure instantly before but I did have a bed near them so maybe that helped. It's just in the new snapshot that I am having issues.

Also from Wiki: "Conversion can be sped up by around 4% by surrounding the zombie villager with iron bars and/or bed blocks within a 9×9×9 cube centered on the zombie villager."
Don't know anything about stone bricks though.

I can't help but notice that the zombie villagers in that video are not from the new snapshot. I have cured zombie villagers in 1.8 plenty of times without issues. The problem here is that I waited at least 10 minutes and he just kept shaking. I have never seen it take more than 5 minutes.

This is copied straight from the wiki:
Zombie villagers can be cured by using a golden apple on them while they are under the effects of Weakness, which can be applied using a splash potion of Weakness thrown by the player or a witch. A loud hissing sound will be heard if successful, and the zombie villager will begin to shudder. The curing process will take 2–5 minutes, during which time the zombie villager behaves as normal. While the zombie is being cured, it will have the strength I effect in normal difficulty (or strength II on hard difficulty), making it more important to isolate and restrain the zombie.

posted a message on Mob Spawner Issues

Hostile mobs need space all around the spawner as the spawner can't tell where the available spaces to spawn are and will try to spawn randomly all around the spawner. you will probably end up with a lot of failed spawns if you have the spawner placed direcly against the walls, floor or even the ceiling. The maximum distance you can be from a spawner and have it continue to spawn is approximately 16 blocks.

Oh nevermind on this, I was thinking you had actual spawners. :)

screenshots of the design would help.

Did you use a potion of weakness and a golden apple?

    Of course, hence the shaking...

I heard that if you cure them they turn into the villager they look the most like. For example, one in a tattered white coat would be a librarian. However, it's been about 15 minutes and this librarian zombie villager is still standing there shaking.. I don't think it's gonna happen.

posted a message on Is taming a horse broke?

Are there plugins for recent snapshots?

I assume there is, but that question aside I tried the horse taming for myself and the original poster is right, the horses do not buck you off. I also tried feeding it a bunch of different things like sugar and hay which didn't help. A saddle will not go on them either, so the taming does appear to be broken.

Are you in your own single player world or a server with plugins? Some plugins I have seen interfere with horse taming.
