In general, Curse has been a very descriptive name.
WedTM has apparently been recieving enough money to keep mum about how much they suck, and even advertise one more thing that Curse hasn't

With each "bit", the total number of possible values increases exponentially.
8 bits is one "byte".

I just wish they had a sandbox mode, instead of just missions.

Wonder why.

You know, the semi-serious political internet radio show, hosted by "Ghost". The one that is more famous for the trolls than anything serious it does. The one that's infested by 4channers and bronies. The one with hundreds of different "splices" on YouTube. You know. That one.
Anyway, this is a discussion thread for it.
TOPIC DU JOUR: Who is the "Engineer"?

What part of the design do you like? The completely utilitarian, amateur-looking white-and-pale-blue boxes?

1. No "subtitle" slot for creating topics.
2. Ugly square-based look.
3. Tiny avatars, almost invisible.
4. Still crappy sig limits.
5. The dumpy-ass "latest news" bar is always at the goddamn top of my screen.
6. We're still on Curse.
7. There's no bar to separate stickied topics from the rest.
8. The rules and announcements are ****ing huge now.
9. That bar at the top.
10. Did I mention that we're still on Curse?
This list is not conclusive.
If you can name any major benefit of switching to the new forums which make my eyes bleed, I MIGHT be able to overlook one of dozens of grievances I could take the time to compile.

But they're not black-and-white. They're (color) and (invisible).

Also, the ironic part is that the snapshots have introduced redstone lamps as well, which can make infinitely simpler, faster displays. But NOOOOO, without your precious glitch stairs everything is ruined!

Dochavoc2's Punishment: Parkour
Function:
The rules are straightforward and typical of most parkour maps. From the start, though, I found two problems. The lack of checkpoints was pushed as a feature, not an issue. Difficulty does NOT equal fun. And it utilizes sprint-jumping very little, even telling you specifically not to use it (how can you possibly enforce that?). For the most part, though, everything works, although many of the jumps are stupidly difficult. Not "fun" difficult, "cheap" difficult. I understand the map is supposed to be hard, but the goddamn piles of cacti, lava, and more lava are annoying as hell. I feel like this is a good time to push an important point: "jumps" do not equal "parkour". Simply hopping from block to block is neither fun nor original. I also have a nit-picky but (hopefully) valid point: completely cosmetic collectables (added alliterative appeal) are not particularly fun. I'm good at real Minecraft parkour, and actually exploring for rewards. Unfortunately, this map has neither. But, remember, at least it functions properly. [9/15]
Form:
The buildings and aesthetics are pretty generic. Most rooms are basically just solid (block name) and glowstone. If Minecraft maps were a religion, I would issue a fatwa against goddamn utilitarian solid-block-type rooms. And this map would be damned to parkour hell. WorldEdit is not a good architectural tool. [4/15]
Universe:
Right away the first signs on the wall tell you that the story is going to be... different. It strikes me as somewhat surreal (Mafia goons punishing you in parkour hell?). The backstory is intriguing, and the early nether decor serves its role well. It's somewhat dark, and unique, but, as with most parkour maps, it has virtually no method of narration for most of the map. The map seems to be constantly struggling over whether its story is serious or humorous. The ending was alright, but wasn't anything special. [7/10]
Innovation:
The parkour is nothing new. It's just standard jumps, with a lot of lava poured in for the sake of irritation. There's very little useful redstone to be found. It's one of the most run-of-the-mill maps I've seen in a while. It clearly hasn't been updated with anything more than bugfixes for some time. [4/10]
Total: 24/50
I would only reccomend this map for those who are really desperate for a masochistic, keyboard-damaging, solid-texture-cubed, "parkour" map. It actually has a story, so it's better than most parkour maps in that department. It is functional, but is so mind-numbingly and, above all, cheaply difficult that you'll wonder if any non-robot can beat it. This goes along with game mechanics that were lukewarm in summer of last year. But most of all, the eye-bleeding design and aesthetics is almost sickenly monotonous and generic. I try hard not to be too harsh in my reviews, but for a map with tons of fans and kilotons of potential, "Punishment: Parkour" is just that: punishment.

But it's still weirdly patriotic, and notably subpar.
