This thread is really confusing. Most of the OPs arguments center around feelings of invalidation regarding activities he used to get joy from. Assembling a stack of iron used to mean something, now it doesn't. Finding a golden apple used to mean something, now it doesnt. Et cetera. Am I wrong here? Did I misinterpret?

I think you just need to admit to yourself that the things you have been doing are RPG-ish. Go ahead and take a close look. That scenario you mentioned where you'd like to track down really difficult to find, and really rewarding Golden Apples deep in secret ravines? Well...That's an RPG. That thing you want to do where you hunt down really rare materials and make some epic craftable? Well that's an RPG.

This is a really baseless statement. I don't think you understand Mojang's infrastructure anywhere near well enough to say you know what fixing "stuff like this" actually takes. Mojang won't pretend to know how to do your job, and you probably shouldn't pretend to know how to do theirs. Let's be fair please.

I'm a huge fan of exterior. Super big kudos on your project, I like the theme behind it a lot! With that said, I do find the bunker part to be somewhat visually boring. An awful lot of grey going on down there. But that is a really neat composite of mods you've made something great out of!

Yes, I was a member of a similar server for about 8 months last year.
I have served as staff on a long-term RP server that was operating for nearly a year. I've been playing RPGs and other games for a long, long time and I love the RP potential of Minecraft.
I am not going to try and impress you with lots of knowledge about redstone or anything like that. I know how to build, and i know how to build well. I make great use of small spaces and I love to build things that "make sense" in RP concepts. I like to do "lesser details". Say you're building a town. How bout a sewer system?!
Saying you pulled off a prank on these guys is like saying that the people who butcher cattle "prank the cows". Just kinda you being a **** to a pair of guys.
I am a 25 year old IT professional who is also a Minecraft fan and gaming fanatic! I have been playing MC for just under a year and I have been around between a few servers trying to find a home. I would like to take this opportunity to advertise myself a little bit and throw out my qualifications to see if my skills work for anyone out there while I continue my search.
Plenty of people claim staff / admin experience because they help out on a freebuild server with a couple buddies and they get Ops. While I have certainly done this, my staff experience runs much deeper. I have been playing online games for about 12 years dating back to the first successful MMO, Ultima Online. I have been a manager / staff / event-coordinator for online communities for almost 8 years in total of my gaming life. I know my way around a player event and I love setting up, running and executing things for players in all forms.
As far as MC specific experiences, I have been an active and long-standing member at several large RP and semi-RP servers dating back to last December. During this time I gained experience as a builder and learned how to quickly and efficiently build by hand and through WorldEdit.
So what I am hoping for....
Is a server that either gears itself towards RP, or a Semi-RP environment that needs some staff help to setup and carry out events or execute the game world. If your server is not an RP server, I also would love to lend my help planning, organizing and managing player projects or any other adventure-type experiences.
Please get ahold of me by responding to this thread or sending me a private message if you would like to further discuss my experiences or qualifications. A server that allows the person in this position to use TooManyItems and/or WorldEdit would be preferred, but is not mandatory.
