Yeah.. fic.. I actually think my fic is a piece of crap. I feel it's.. well, I don't know. I'm just too hard with myself. Maybe it's a masterpiece but for me, it's crap. I just wait to finish my second chapter, edit and correct what I can from both chapters and give the links to who will want them. I won't host them on Fimction yet, because if by some miracle it gets popular, I wouldn't want to deceive the readers because of my very-very-very slow writing pace.

Well. obsession. It depends of your point of view. Sure we can look like geeks worshiping a show destined to 8 years old girls but your are not forced to believe we look like that. What made you believe we were obsessed? I'm sure this obsession thing started with prejudices somewhere and it's okay, at least you make the effort of coming here and ask us.
As far as I know, we like the show because of its good animation, character depths and developments and simply because it's different from the other shows we see on TV today.
It just happened that the characters in the show are ponies. They could've been anything else, but ponies it is. We didn't stop there because they were ponies, I'm sure you know like me that prejudices are evil. You only have to look further to understand that there's nothing wrong about the show only because the main characters are brightly, overly-cute ponies that we constantly want to hug.
You put emphasis on the LITTLE GIRL part on your message. What make you believe the show is intended for little girls? Mlp : Fim is rated [E] for Everyone, so technically, everyone can enjoy the show, and that's what we do. Just because the show is aimed for little girls it doesn't mean that it's only and specifically reserved for them. Who said at one point that Mlp was reserved for little girls?
I personally am bored of the simpsons, southpark, american dad and family guy. MLP was a whole new experience for me about Tv show: fun, entertaining and character development. No jokes about sex every 2 minutes, or stupid scenes that leads nowhere except awkward situations. Actually, There's a storyline in each episode and that's what is interesting. Each episode is a new adventure, where the other tv shows are constantly recycling their old jokes and gags. In MLP, the characters evolve along with the public, they learn from their errors and we can see the results in the episodes after. A nice example is Rainbow Dash reading a book in the library, while she stated for a whole season and a half that reading was only for eggheads and was totally Un-cool.
And the best part about the show? The community around it. Yes the show is entertaining and all, but the people which who we talk everyday about it makes the difference. It's nice to have a topic where everypony can talk about something as fun and magic as MLP. There's just a lot to explore and explain about the show...Drawings..Comics...Songs...Fictions...Forums like here to discuss everyday subject about the show..
There's just no way somepony won't find something that suits his taste in the show with our great community, there's just so much content...
