I checked, and that is not the case. Minecraft was running just fine about 24 hours ago now, and it is at the exact same CPU usage as it was then. So that couldn't be it. I ran the free Norton I had installed as this computer isn't even 2 weeks old yet. Nothing is in this computer except files I downloaded, and the only things I've downloaded are Minecraft and a few steam games. Sites I've been to only include a few bookmarked things like Facebook and these forums. So there really isn't anywhere I could've got a virus from. This is very upsetting. =(
Last night I could play Minecraft just fine. Was running a nice smooth 45-54 fps. Was having fun, played probably 3 hours. Went to bed, woke up, went through my day and now, roughly 16 hours afterwords, I can no longer play in anything more than 5fps. I have minimized every graphic option, installed optifine, minimized those new features, still 5fps. So I decided to see if any of the snapshots worked anymore, because I had a world in 12w07a. That map wouldn't work either. I even started a whole new map to see if maybe that was the problem, nope, still 5frickenfps. So, I'd like to know what the hell is up? My RAM and CPU usage are the exact same, 33% and 45%, respectively. And that is exactly what they were last night when Minecraft was working fine. Anyone know what the heck is wrong? This is just ridiculous. -.-

All of a sudden Minecraft is unplayable for me. Last night I was playing in Normal render distance, clouds on, advanced open gl off, and a few other random things off. It was running just fine for me at 50 fps constantly, no lag spikes. All of a sudden I'm at 1 fps and jump 10 blocks ahead or back every time I try to move. I have 6 Gig of ram and my computer is brand new. So why is this not working all of a sudden? I can't even play in tiny render distance. My computer isn't over working either, because at a time only 33% of ram is used and 45% of CPU is used. Those are the exact percents used last night while playing with 50fps. Any ideas what's going on?
Holy balls of Sh*t I wish I had internet download speed that fast! Mine is about 1/12 of that. -.- I'm having a weird problem where I load 30 seconds of the video, and then it stops.
It's not that uncommon really, it happens a lot when generating the terrain, especially with sand and gravel. It's much like when you find a floating island of dirt and snow. The game sometimes forgets that they are affected by gravity and doesn't make them sink. That's how I see it at least. I'm sure you could go more in depth into the coding of the game saying that there is a mistake somewhere that makes x amount of gravel float, etc.
It looks great, and I understand that you did more than just build this, but 24 hours? That's quite a long time. >_< I think I could manage this in about 3 given all the materials you had. Don't get me wrong, it's cool and all just that's a long time. XD Now go for something big, make some wool art in an underground section of that private house! =P
The only passive mobs are spiders and enderman. A chest full of ender pearls and string will take absolutely forever. -.- Seems ok though, kind of plain, not really any twists to it. I'll take a crack at most of the challenges.
I don't understand how we are supposed to suggest mods you would like with the only information given being you do not like the Aether. Regardless, try something like Equivalent Exchange, or that working village mod, the name slips me at this point sorry.
Excessively torch everything. No mobs will spawn within I think 6 squares of a torch. As for an "ender-proof" block; I'm sure there is a mod somewhere, someone is working on one, or you could even try and make your own!
