This is a project Ive been thinking about for a while now. I am a big fan of the Cookie Clicker game by Orteil, and I wanted to make a minecraft version, that would include different aspects from both game. (Such has clicking cookies and killing monsters!).

((I want to say right now that all the rights for cookie clicker belong to Orteil, I am not making any money with this, its only a fun project.))

Ahem, now that this is done, on to more information about the map!
Currently the game is in pre-alpha (alphalicious for the cool people). There is a clear lack of features, and I know it. Thats why I made this thread into the WIP Maps section. I will be adding a lot more stuff!

It was the golden age. Minecraft was a large and happy world, with vast amounts of players and villigers and Cows and Pigs. There where other worlds like the End and the Nether, but one world was smaller, and lesser known. It was called The Kingdom Of Dreams. It was a vast land, and it only existed in the minds of children, or so their parents thought. The Kingdom Of Dreams was in fact a true, living and breathing place. It was inhabited by the Dream Keepers, and the King and Queen of dreams. It was said to be the happiest place in Minecraft, it was also the most beautiful.In the great world of Minecraft, everyone was happy and cheerful. But not everywhere in Minecraft was a happy and cheerful place.
A place called Terre des ames, french for "Land of souls". It was a dark, evil place. It was known for the demonic creatures that roam there, feeding on the souls of the dead. But Terre Des Ames was taken over and destroyed by the overworld, causing the creatures to relocate, but where else would they go? Then, they found The Land Of Dreams, a land that was in their home deminsion.They soon attacked and took over The Land Of Dreams, poisoning the dreams of the overworld children. Soon, the King and Queen were murdered, and turned into the rulers of the creatures. The cold darkness froze The Kingdom Of Dreams, turning it into a dark and icy wasteland.
The place was soon called "The Lost Land". Corrupted Dream Keepers roamed the land aimlessly, killing off intruders, eating the souls of players who dared to enter. Children woke up with nightmares, just to find out that they would never have a good dream again.
Or will they?

Since its original addition on September 29th, 2011, disc 11 has acquired many different awed researchers and theories as to its creation, ranging from Herobrine to Enderman dropping 'stal' in the water. This thread, however, will serve as a full explanation of the different theories, associations, and the true origin of the mysterious disk:

Disc 11 associated with 13?
While the that plays discs 11 and 13 together seems convincing, in truth, it's not actually that accurate. If listened to intently, you can tell that disk 13 is sped-up from its original speed to become as long as 11 is. Plus, even though 13 stops while 11 flips something, that's not that significant, because it could just as well stop while the wierd music is played at the end, or while the player coughs.
Plus, even while 13 is played at the same time as 11, it doesn't even become quiet while 11 is playing. It becomes quiet after 11 is finished.
Play the following videos below at exactly the same time, and look for any similarities in timing:

You may notice that, while water is dropping, he coughs directly in-between, or some other small detail. The funny thing is how intent people are on finding a connection between little, unconnected things. For all I care, this case is busted.


Hidden Easter egg in disc 11?
Fortunately, this theory holds more ground. In 2012, a minecraft wiki contributor ran disc 11 through a spectrogram and found a couple of odd formations:


While it can't be seen in this image, to the right is an 8. This series of numbers is easily explained as a special signature by the creator of the music, C418. In hexadecimal, 12 is C.
Then there is also an odd face in the image:

The nature of the face is unknown, but there are 3 leading theories:
Steve, a creeper, or herobrine.

Well, let's analyze it!

All of them seem likely. A creeper is practically a logo of minecraft. If a person sees a creeper face, they'll automatically think of minecraft. But creeper faces usually have 2-block-high eyes, so that theory has been eliminated.

Now for Steve.

First of all, the original Steve had a beard going down to his chin. However, this was changed in Beta 1.0. If 11 was made before that, then it's most likely Herobrine.
So, let's see. Beta 1.0 was released on December 20th, 2010, and 11 was released nearly a year later, so it could still be Steve.


What about Herobrine?

The earliest mention of a haunting spirit in Minecraft was sometime during early 2010. Within days, probably, the name stuck. So certainly he would have been heard of by disk 11. But Herobrine still has the old Steve beard, and this image clearly shows a lack of a 'beard' but rather Steve's current face. The basic evidence is pointing to steve

But this is where things get complicated:

The song doesn't exactly sound like a 'Steve' song. It sounds like a Herobrine song. Plus, if C418 took enough care to eliminate Herobrine's beard, he would have put in Steve's eyes. But he didn't, so it's most likely Herobrine in the image.

But what is 11 about?

Seriously, despite all this extra stuff, I'm just dodging the question. Seriously, what is the song about? Here are a few of the leading theories:

Endermen?
Sure, Endermen seem like a good idea for anyone who wants to have an idea other than the boring-old-Herobrine idea, so let's look for some details of it:
At, you can hear a sound similar to an Enderman teleporting, and right before the sound goes suddenly to static, you can hear a sound like the long, drawn out, static-y sound a ed-off Enderman makes. Plus, Endermen were added to minecraft a mere 14 days before 11 was released, hinting at the fact that this was made for them. Before looking at the validity of this, however, let's look at the stuff going for Herobrine:

Herobrine?
Many players like to think that Herobrine is the secret behind the video. You can hear an odd sound that Endermen can't make at 0:50, and certainly Endermen don't cause mining to speed up, as it did right before it went suddenly to static. Plus, the long Enderman-static noise wasn't added until over a month after 11 was released. As some evidence points either way, let's just go to the final section: what we DO know.


What I can get out of 11 for sure/a transcript of the events of the odd disc:

Okay, before you even play the disc, you can obviously see the disc is ripped and torn up, implying it was through a tumble. Before playing it even, you know something is up.
When you start to play it, you can hear static for a little while, and then a player running over stone away from (or to) something, or even just running. He is panting all the while, implying he is either frightened/scared, or is tired out from running fast/for a long time. You can hear the distorted sound a dog nearby repeatedly, although it's impossible to tell if it's been tamed by him, or is simply a nearby wild dog. He then slows down, maybe at his house, and you can hear shuffling with him fumbling around for something. He then takes something and starts making clicking sounds with it. This could be flint and steel with him lighting fires around him to either block off whatever is chasing him, or to see where he is. It could also be a mechanical device, such as a clock or compass, that he's trying to configure, which he unsuccessfully does and gets out a manual or something. He frantically flips through a few pages to read about something. He then returns to his mechanical device and again attempts to configure it. After supposedly doing it, he begins to close the book when odd sounds start to appear. He quickly finishes configuring the object and begins running away. His pace speeds up as the sound gets louder, and then begins running over grass. He suddenly stops as the sound gets extremely loud, and right before the sound stops, he's not saying 'herobri-'. Its just a dog (presumably his) angrily barking before being silenced. Then comes a long period of static with intermittent, odd sounds which are C418's signature.

Personally, after listening to the record numerous times, I've deduced that the location of the record isn't in some dark cave, but rather aboveground near a shack someone recently built, probably during the night. The 'it' in question is probably an Enderman (my own opinion, but theres more evidence for it) and it was certainly made by C418 as a little easter egg, whether it be one of Herobrine or one of the release of Endermen in the game and his hidden signature.

Hello minecrafters! Today I am starting a new series called nerd-out, where I apply science to Minecraft. I hope to upload these threads pretty frequently with lots of goodies and interesting facts. Anyway, let's get to our question: how strong is Steve? Well, there have been a lot of videos, threads, etc. that try to figure this out using gold blocks. However, this poses a problem: they used gold blocks.

Now, a lot of people say to use notch apples instead of gold blocks, which is true, but it is hard to determine how heavy a notch apple is, so let's find out.

Obviously, we have the 8 gold blocks involved, and since we know that 1 cubic meter of gold weighs 19,282 kilograms, 8 blocks of gold would weigh (19,282)(8) which equals 154256 kilograms of gold in a notch apple. Here comes the tricky part: the apple. So, to figure out how much a Minecraft apple weighs, we need to look at it's density compared with the density of water. Water has a density of 1000 kg/m^3, and apples sink pretty quickly in water (at least they do in Minecraft), so I'm going to estimate the density of the apple as 1300 kg/m^3. I think we're going to have leftovers, to say the least. Now to find out how much the apple weighs, since the mass of the apple is the volume times the density, we just need to find the volume of the apple before we can find out how much mass the apple has. These 2 images tell us all we need to know about the volume of the apple:


So, in order to find out how large the apple is, we need to know how many voxels make up the apple. This is easy enough: each voxel is approximately 1/8192 of a single cube, since there are 4096 of the voxels that make up the cube texture, and the voxels on the apple are approximately half the size of the ones on a block. And since we know each block is a cubic meter, we can find out how big a single voxel on the apple is by dividing 1/8192 = ~0.00012 cubic meters per voxel. Now we have to count how many voxels are on the apple, which I will do for you: 138, which means each apple is approximately 0.002 cubic meters. Since the mass of the apple is the density times the volume, the mass of the apple comes to 1300kg/m^3*0.002 or 2.6 kilograms, which is pretty heavy for an apple, but not heavy compared to all that gold. So now we know that 1 notch apple weighs 154,258.6 kilograms. Now we multiply that number by 64 and we get 9,872,550.4 kilograms in a stack of apples, and a whopping 355411814.4 kilograms of apples in an entire inventory. Quite strong! Kinda...

I made this measurement assuming that gold blocks weighed 19,282 kilograms, but that isn't exactly true when you look at density. A gold block in water sinks at the same rate as a apple in water, therefore apples and gold blocks have the same density. So, in reality, each gold block weighs 1,300 kilograms, which isn't nearly as much as our other measurement. So, in actuality, Steve can only lift 23967590.4 kilograms, which is still very heavy, but not nearly as heavy as what people thought Steve could hold in his inventory. (By the way, where does he store all those golden apples?) And there you have it, how strong Steve is, sorry for the lengthy post, I just had a lot of information to talk about. See you next time!

-Recently my friends & I came up with the idea of adding Armor Durability Textures, basically the texture of the armor will change in compact to its durability.

-NOTICE:This is just an example of how it would look.This image is what a Diamond Chestplate would look like if it was about 100 hits from breaking.

-The more the Armor is damaged (The lower the durability is) more cracks will appear on the Armor Piece.
-This would be really use full for things such as PvP.
-Although, the durability bar is really use full (Im thinking of keeping the durability bar) it would be nice if there was an option to let you turn Armor Textures ON/OFF so if you don't like the idea you can simply turn it off.

Of course you no longer think minecraft is fun. Its most likely due to the fact that you have no imagination. I never asked for you to be amused by my achievements, you commented here. That was your choice.

FPS games can be fun. But playing those anymore than a few weeks and you better have a clear goal for it in mind, or making substantial progress, otherwise you're just stimulating your brain for the sake of stimulation. Its cyclical and pointless, and the ratio of enjoyment/frustration is nowhere near mitigated enough for me to consider it to be a worthwhile long term expenditure of my time.

How old are you?

Game modifications almost always suck, as they can come from people who have absolutely no experience in the creative aspects of developing games, and completely ruin the subtle mix of elements that minecraft is successful for. I mentioned the previous game to draw the point that game design, in most games, is out of the player's control, and for good reason. Most game suggestions that most people have, most of the time, completely suck.

And when I say illegal, I'm not talking about the country you live in. I'm obviously talking about the context of the game universe and rules the developers have set.

Rules exist for a reason, and most often for very good reasons, especially when set in the recent, 21st century context, where we rationally decide what we want to allow players to do and not to do. I follow the rules wherever I go, because I have respect for the people who spent their time creating and hosting a gaming community. And I "waste my time" as you call it, because I have integrity, and because I'm one of the greatest game grinders in the world. This feat I just accomplished is nowhere near the hardest thing I've ever done in games. It shapes your determination into an iron fist, ready for anything that you decide to set your mind to, not just in games, but in life.

I understand you have the ability to separate gaming from real life and not break the law for your own personal gain or satisfaction. Or at least, I hope so. But without patience you're going to miss opportunities to do great work because you're too busy looking for shortcuts, or moving on to something else that could possibly hold your attention.

I enjoy doing this. Its fun. When you can use 3rd party computer programs to generate any outcome of organized blocks within minecraft that you want, it is no longer the goal that becomes important to you. The journey does. I hope you figure that out eventually.

Dug this gigantic hole, and just managed to reach bedrock. Not done, because I have to pull all of the little stone out of the holes so that only bedrock remains, but that should yield less than 100,000 more.
