    Rant on my (not new) vision of Inferno Mines :


    So I've been flying in inferno mines for about an hour now, and It really saddens me. I have never actually played the map and it's my first look of it outside Zisteau's videos.

    Yea he totaly f*cked up. We all know that and it's obvious by the way the areas look. No use of erode/smooth brushs in almost all the areas. And all that made me think.

    IM was his first major failure (imo), but why this one? He had a bunch of great ideas that will probably get used/copied in thousands of bad maps, like always. Some people will improve them, or put them on their never-do-this-ever list. But all that leads to what I think made him fail : Pressure.

    How long ago was his last map release? Yeah. Some people were getting impatient, you could see it in the thread. And I don't know about him, but having thousands of people asking you to finish your map, it gives you a little bit of pressure. So he rushed the map, you can obviously tell by the last few areas and especially the lush ruins (gosh that area sucks). He didn't nearly spent enough time testing it and of course... custom loot. I've never seen so many loot chests in a single area EVER. I'm sure there is easily 200+ in the ruins.

    But anyways, enough rambling around.


    tl:dr : Hopefuly Vechs learned from his mistakes and comes back with an awesome map.

    Seems like an area where you trek through miles of dangerous monster littered terrain reaching a large tree bathed in sunlight, at the top there is a fleecy box but when you get there the entire place suddenly filled with ghasts and blazes, turning you only safe haven into the most dangerous place in the area.


    I was thinking about starting the player at the top and make it like a open sky cavern, but now that you mention it.. I shall look further into this.
