Minigames, survival let's play and skyblock... A.K.A nothing new and interesting. Nothing I'd want to watch, you know why? Because so many more popular people are doing the exact same thing. You need to find something new and interesting to do. Something that people will want to watch. Maybe a let's play of a new mod. That's something I'd want to watch.
Before starting anythying new, I'd suggest doing a Youtube search on it. For example, if you search skyblock, what are you going to find? A couple let's play of the big guys, and a thousand other let's play by other smaller guys. In other words, don't even bother starting your own series if you are just starting out, it'll get you no where.
What you SHOULD do, is custom maps and mods. These are always fun, and most of the time, (if you take the smaller ones of course) they aren't played by a thousand other Youtubers.
MAPS
It can be any type of map, would it be the new Hardcore Parkour map or the new CTM, custom maps are a good way to get you known. If you do a let's play and you contact the map maker, chances are you'll end up directly on his thread. That's some great, free, and easy advertising for your channel. Of course, it's better if you know what you are doing. If you don't, I'd suggest being funny, and doing a montage of your adventures. Because let's be honest, no one wants to watch someone get killed again and again by monsters without getting anywhere for 15 minutes. Unless your a professional comedian, it's going to get boring really quick. A montage of the best parts is an easy way to make nice episodes that are entertaining to watch.
MODS
Take the new mod and try to make a let's play with it. For exemple, I saw CaptainSparkles's video on Star Mine, a mod that allows you to walk under and around objects (it's really amazing). You could take that mod, and make a let's play based solely around it. Of course you need to find a way to make the videos fun and entertaining, which can be hard sometime. If it's too hard, find an other mod.

I can see a very big flaw with this lore, it's that Steve is the only human left in Minecraftia. Which you didn't really explain.
I like the take you took on the pigmen. Them living together with the other races until they grew hungry in their strongholes and decided to rebel agaisnt the villagers is a cool idea and answers a lot of questions.
The fact that zombies are around also had a nice explanation.
So overall, it's some very nice lore!

Agreed, I don't want to pay for something that's purely a money-grabbing scam. Besides, you could just plop an image of your skin's face into Gimp or Photoshop and spruce it up a bit to make it look cartoon-y.

Back in the days, around Beta 1.2, I was mining with a friend on a server, and I kid you not, we found an iron vein of like 100 blocks. To this day I still have no idea what the heck happened for there to be so much in a single space. I've come to believe the owner had a part in this, but I'll never truly know.

Would they really? I don't think LEGO is different from other big companies out there. All they want is your money. Small pieces of plastic probably made in china do not cost a lot to make you know.
