archmage94: don't report bugs/crashes here, report them on Github please.

Alexiy: hmm, have you tried breaking and placing the block again? Also, consider dropping by on IRC for quicker help.

BrisingrAerowing: I'm pretty sure Computronics has integration with the EnderIO teleporter. For printing, have a look at the OpenPrinter addon. For more flexible beeps there's the Computronics beep card, for generic audio its tape drive, for MC sounds look for the Mass Sound Card addon. Integration: depends on what needs integrating. In general this might be easier to do on SC's side.

OpenComputers 1.5.21 is out! TIS-3D integration, and most importantly: an MC 1.8.8 build!

Not even worth a changelog. But hey, 1.8.8!

    @InsanityPie: lower the resolution of the ingame screen, e.g. run `resolution 80 25`. Or just use a T2 screen/GPU.

@jonabrv2015: For feature suggestions, please create an issue on Github.

OpenComputers 1.5.20 is out! Bunch of fixes, some small additions. This will probably the last 1.5 version (unless breaking bugs pop up), I'll now focus on 1.6.

As always, remember to make a backup of your world before updating.

Download on Curse or first post.

    • Added: Disk usage program for OpenOS (payonel).
    • Added: Initial BuildCraft Builder compatibiltiy (once BC 7.2 releases).
    • Added: Nanomachine configurations can now be saved to a nanomachine item in the player's inventory.

@CertifiedFailer: no, but there are a number of power generating mods on 1.8, such as Progressive Automation and Power Advantage.

@Instandplay: I won't, but you can change that in the config, if you think it's a good idea...

OpenComputers 1.5.18 is out! Rotating holograms, fixes, and most importantly: Nanomachines, son!

As always, remember to make a backup of your world before updating.

Download in first post and on Curse.

    • Added: Nanomachines, an energy based buff / effect system.
    • Added: Arbitrary rotation for tier two hologram projectors, static and animated.
    • Added: Transposer can be used as an upgrade in Microcontrollers.
    • Changed: Improved tab completion behavior in shell (payonel).
    • Changed: Drones must now be "itemized" by sneak-activating them with a wrench (instead of bare-handed). Sneak-activating them otherwise powers them on now, like most other devices. This now allows robots/drones to start drones.
    • Fixed: Potential dupe bug when having robots use ExU drums.
    • Fixed: Behavior of os.time / os.date.
    • Fixed: Some more non-critical internal stuff.
    • Fixed: Potential NPE when robots tried to use the analyzer.
    • Fixed: Render issues with certain items when held by robots.
    • [MC1.8] Fixed: Lighting issue when hovering GUI buttons.

Edit: Please get the hotfix, fixes a potential crash and a logic error in agent inventories. Sorry!

Edit 2: Obviously, right after I push out the first hotfix, there's another critical issue... make sure you have hotfix 2, please.

Sounds like you either removed the file system you're running the OS from or have a broken installation.

Try rebooting with only the OpenOS floppy (and leave it in the drive), then insert a hard drive and reinstall, then remove the floppy before rebooting.

OpenComputers 1.5.16 is out! Switches and Access Points are deprecated by the Relay, and the Transposer says hello!

    • Added: Method to switch CPU architecture automatically (will cause reboot if it changed).
    • Added: Parameter in gpu.bind to disable resolution reset (makkarpov).

The config is sorted alphabetically because otherwise it'd be random, so yeah :P Aside from that, if you have any mod in there that ships a power API OC supports, that'll mean it assumes it can be powered by that, somehow (e.g. if you have CoFHCore in there or so; dunno if DragonAPI is still shipping some foreign APIs?). Either way, adding direct support for RC power is something I am considering (haven't so far, because... well, all other supported power systems are more of a "energy/electric" nature, whereas RC is mechanical [and EC has no public API]). We'll see.

The plain vanilla Lua way works, just make sure you get your dots and colons right.

    local f = assert(io.open(...))
    local contents = f:read("*a")
    f:close()

Hrm, there'd have to be a way to access the names from code though, and the Adapter doesn't have its own component. Giving it one would be an option, sure, but if anything in OC 1.6 (since it can break builds due to the added component), and I'm also not too keen on that exactly *because* it already eats into the component limit of computers via the actual components provided by it (for the upgrades in it / blocks next to it). Feel free to open an issue on Github to get a discussion going, though.

OpenComputers 1.5.15 is out! Yet more bug fixes, tiered data cards, unmanaged mode for hard drives and floppies!

As always, remember to make a backup of your world before updating.

Download in first post or on Curse.

    • Added: Unmanaged mode for hard drives and floppies (treated as block devices / raw access).
    • Added: Tiered data cards (makkarpov).
    • Added: isEquivalentTo and areStacksEquivalent to inventory controller, allowing to check if items share an oredict id.
    • Added: bit32 implementation in Lua 5.3 for backwards compat.
    • Added: Also handle arbitrary number types in signals and return values.
    • Added: Blacklist config for recipe inputs for disassembler. Default contains fire for chainmail blacklisting.
    • Added: NBT editing functionality to Debug Card (gamax92).
    • Changed: Use a non-invalid default dummy item in loot generator (may help with some mods accessing that directly).
    • Fixed: computer.stopped message (resulting in sockets not being closed on shutdown, e.g.).
    • Fixed: Overcompensating for dig time.
    • Fixed: Potential crash when machines stopped unexpectedly.
    • Fixed: Potential deadlock when machines get disposed while they're running.
    • Fixed: Potential division by zero in manual.
    • Fixed: Potential issue in AE2 integration.
    • Fixed: Potential memory leaks in server racks.
    • Fixed: Potential race conditions between ServerThread and ClientShutdownThread.
    • Fixed: Spelling and grammar errors within the man pages (Shuudoushi).

Switches do not pass along power.

Server racks pass network messages and power.

Nonsanity: no clue, haven't really heard of that one before, though I've read about some issues with textures on OSX in general (there were some issues with just Forge, in fact). Glad to hear you can work around it.

jonabrv2015: thanks for posting the solution. General for others in need for support with Computronics: you're much more likely to get quick (or any) help on IRC (#computronics on esper.net).

don_bruce: heh, welcome to the club :P You can get in touch with Vexatos for a repo in the OpenPrograms organization (check the OC forums or drop by on IRC), which is where mine is catching dust (but can be downloaded via package managers, at least).
