I don't think you understand how copyright works. It's only infringement if they took Minecraft, or some part of it, and released it as their own product. They took the gameplay principles of Minecraft, made their own product, and then released it. Perfectly legal. Does it do anything to benefit anyone? Will anyone actually play it? No. You can't out-Minecraft Minecraft itself.
And please don't think it's bad that you can't copyright game mechanics. This is a very very good thing because imagine all the games you've played that have had similar core mechanics. If mechanics were copyright-able, a huge portion of the games that exist today would be illegal. Original mechanics don't exist very readily anymore. It's all about taking from older games, and making it better. Which is perfectly fine.
I'm on windows, the download worked fine for me. I suggest adding a feature to toggle the radar on/off in future updates. It seems to eat through my already slow CPU. But I'm pretty impressed, this mod will be really great as it advances. Those sneaky roflcondas man...
I had an idea: I think you mentioned this before, but perhaps I could make particles to go with each of the projectiles, and the particles can trail behind the projectile as it flies. And perhaps a burst of them goes in every direction upon impact? Also, be sure to ignore the embarrassingly bad first preview in my previous post
Here is a preview of the sprites: See bottom of post for fixed/improved versions
Please ignore typo on preview :S
I made the fire ball in just a few seconds, because you said you already had one. If you want me to redo it in higher quality, no problem. The lightning bolt was also slightly rushed due to frustration, hence the messed up colours on the first one, and only 3 frames. I'll redo that a little later.
I'll send you the .psd with the actual (repaired) sprites if you decide to use them.
Edit: Also, I'd be more than happy to help if you wish for me to make more art in the future
Edit2: Here is a revised preview, fixed a few things, and remade fire/lightning.
What kind of projectile sprites do you need(resolution as well)? Not sure whether or not "if somebody can make those sprites before I release" was an invitation for anyone to do it. Excuse me if I'm mistaken
Ah, neglected to read the last page of posts. I'll whip something up.
Minequery is up now! More heroes balancing is still going on, and we've got more mob arenas set up. We've had a steady 10-20 people on, come join in on the fun!
Heroes is fully functional. I am working on getting to the point where every class is perfectly balanced and fun. It's pretty close right now, but me playing around with the different classes will expose any problems. Come on and join while the world is reasonably unharmed. =)
Join up guys! We need more players. I am almost done with the hero classes now, expect it by this weekend.
There will be:
Rogue
-Thief
-Assassin
Fighter
-Warrior
-Brute
Apprentice
-Sorcerer
-Priest
Worker
-Trapper
-Hunter
That's four primary classes, and each one branches into two specializations. I might make a fifth primary class too, the Artisan, who can use enchanting tables, and make potions, if I don't integrate those in to the other classes.
lol how many complaint threads have you made today, dude? Seriously, go do something useful, or at least stop complaining about features that we don't know anything about yet. We literally know absolutely nothing about the Ender except that it will have dragons. And I'm pretty sure the dragons in the normal world screen shots were tests by notch, to make them easier to find.
This is very cool :smile.gif: About to test it to see if you can edit the .zip files by just switching the texture pack, and thus not having to keep going to main menu when making small changes to your texture pack.
