posted a message on TrueCraft → Vanilla Survival Minecraft Server for Mature Members Only! (Whitelisted, 18+ Only, 100% Vanilla Survival)

    *Your Minecraft username: SamSynthetic

Your email address: PM me and I'll send it over. :)

    *Your age (or birth-date): 23

Country of residence (US, Canada, UK, etc.): US - PST

*When did you first start playing Minecraft?: 2-3 years ago

*How often do you expect to play on TrueCraft?: A few times a week at least

Do you upload gaming videos to YouTube? (If so, what's the link?): Not at the moment, but I may in the future

Want to join the TrueCraft Skype group chat? (if so, what's your username?): PM and I'll send it over :)

Do you have any building goals on TrueCraft?: I'd love to contribute to a large build. Something with a city or theme. I love doing themed builds, or those inspired from video games and books. And castles. Everyone loves a good mountain castle.

Any extra notes you would like to include in your application?: I'm really looking forward to getting into my first server. I played quite extensively on the PS4 and had a bunch of games with my fellow clan members. I loved doing group builds as well as solo builds on my own, but the best thing was getting a group of friends together to BS while we played. Mostly looking for a mature community to get into and help contribute to builds.

[Yes, by copying and pasting this above text, I do agree to all the rules and requirements]

As you get older you realize that you can't solve world problems, no matter how hard you try. As for being the boss, it's not all it's cracked up to be. I am the boss, and well, it's really not that different.

Aww, Vern. You're going to destroy the kids hopes and dreams before he/she even leaves the nest. That'll happen with adulthood. Might as well keep the hope going while he/she's young.

But, introducing myself! I'm Sam, or Synthetic. I'm 23, almost 24, and have played the PS4 version of Minecraft quite extensively. I always enjoyed playing with a few friends on console, and from what I've seen from youtube videos and twitch I'm not sure if a large server is what I'm looking for. Looking to do either full survival or full creative builds and shenanigans.
I love engineering, racecars, good beer and scotch, the color red, adventuring outdoors, and traveling anywhere I can afford.
I'd like to make a couple friends on here to collaborate with and get into the PC Minecraft scene. I'm not really looking to play with a bunch of kids. I'm more interested in vanilla minecraft, than modded.

posted a message on Calling all people who want to play Minecraft PS4 with friends
Hey! I'm looking to play with some people on the PS4. I'm only adding people over 18 who have a microphone. 21+ is preferred. I like survival and creative, but I can be interested in either. For creative is definitely be looking for some sort of planned build or just cooperating to make a kick ass world. I like recreating bits from video games and making themed builds. For survival I love to do a bit of everything although I can get stuck for a while working on my main base. If you're looking to play, are somewhat intelligent and are looking for a casual partner, hit me up. PSN - SamSynthetic. I will not be adding people who send me a blank friend request.

Just an hour left until the 48 hour challenge begins.
We'll be streaming parts of the build. When the countdown hits zero I'll be releasing the build prompts in the thread I posted above.

With the first day of open Beta down, we've already started making headway on some of the problems with the server. I can't wait to get these community events going. I've been planning a bunch in my head, and can't wait to get them in world.

We've had 100 unique visitors on the server, the number spiking a lot just since yesterday, and we're averaging 10 - 15 online, with peaks around 20 - 25.

I can't wait to see what the next 48 hours brings.

    ABOUT US

UED Craft is returning with it's newest Hard Survival PVP server. It's a faction based world, with dedicated and friendly staff, fit for both new and veteran players. UED has been around the Minecraft scene for several years, and is bringing the experience and staff to the table to create the latest upcoming server.

Our focus at the moment is to finish rounding out our staff team (vacancies listed on the UED forums), and encourage members of the server to begin building up their factions in preparation for the community events that I'll be running. Just out of the beta, this is the best time to get involved and get your claim on the best land with your faction.

    FEATURES

This server is not whitelisted, so you can jump in at any time to play
Factions - Create or join an existing faction so that you can compete in events against others and prove your worth.
Server Player Capacity - 200 players
Dedicated server so it's up almost 24/7

Looking into the future we are working on features to launch as the server establishes itself, including a full economy, shop space, and the official launch of community events for faction vs faction battle.

    RULES
The rules are fairly simple on the server, especially since it is a PVP server. Use some common sense, don't use faction names that are explicit or are excessively negative about a single player in general.
We have a strict rule on not teleporting mid-combat in a PVP situation. For this to come into effect you have to have made contact with the other player or are within 10 blocks of a chase.
    Don't exploit cheats.
Show respect for staff members, don't spam the chat, and enjoy yourself. This is supposed to be a fun, competitive atmosphere and we just want to strive to ensure that happens.

    SERVER INFORMATION

    Processor - Intel Xeon CPU E3 - 1270 V2 @ 3.50GHz
    RAM - 16.0 GB

posted a message on Console Subforum Combination
    Quote from webrosc
What will happen if sony or microsoft delay an update as they have their own red tape and hoops causing one system to update before the other? you will get so many posts moaning that a seed or idea doesn't work do to a different version untill the update does hit. Also not to mention the risk of 2 groups (or 4 even if the new and old gen split fanboys apart) of potential fan boys in the same section and threads claiming one version is better over the other just because of the machine its on.

So far the rumor around the joint is that both consoles will be updating together, and if it isn't on the same day they should be updating within a reasonable time frame of the other. I'm expecting we'll be getting more details about this whole procedure later, but if the plan is to do simultaneous updates, combining the forums could do a lot of good. If it doesn't work quite like that the simple solution for this would be to tag the post with the TU number, which most people should be doing anyways in case the thread is bumped up after an update. Things change for each TU and it's still a possibility someone can check that post on a different version and complain it doesn't work.
Whether it's a lag of 2 weeks caused by PS3 or Xbox update issue or just because a thread within a single console sub-forum was given new life after a TU doesn't change the fact that this problem can still happen regardless, and a note should be made about which version it was on.

    Quote from Rogue
That doesn't make much sense at all. Xbox/PS4 are essentially the same game, PC and MCPE are completely different and made by an entirely different company. Console war threads are banned last I checked anyhow.

I agree that this probably shouldn't be too much of a problem, especially if community members avoid trollers, try to stay away from flame wars, and discuss what we are all here for in the first place; Minecraft. There will always be petty arguments and fighting over the internet, and those in the forum community should do what they can to keep it from descending into to bad of arguments, plus we have the moderators to help out. I'm sure if this change ever occurred the initial discomfort that fanboys/girls would have about the merge would probably mellow out, and the amount of posts about it would come down significantly. At least you would hope so.

Also I'm sure they can bond over their hate for the PC "Master Racers" and their supposed superiority.
    I'm kidding.
    Seriously.
    Please don't fight over that.

Overall I think this could probably do more help than harm, and I'd definitely enjoy the growth in community and general discussion about the game.

posted a message on Potential Skins for Skin Pack DLC
I'd love to see Jak & Daxter skins.
Possibly some Final Fantasy themed ones or Legend of Dragoon would be epic!
In particular Rose from LoD and Balthier, Cloud, Auron, and Rikku from FF.
Kingdom Hearts original characters (not the disney ones) would be cool to see, but not too high of priority. Kairi would be awesome.
They could do three sets of DLC skin Packs, one for each of the previous Sony console generations (PS1 - PS3).

posted a message on Multiple Hotkey Set-ups for Creative Mode
While doing a creative build I thought there might be some use in having multiple hotkey menus available. Currently the d-pad is not being used, and so you could have a set-up of multiple menus available and toggling through them using those keys.
For instance I would set up my menus as follows 'outside build materials', 'redstone tools', 'interior design/materials', and possibly a miscellaneous/exploration/explosion menu, but really each person could set up each of the various menus as they see fit. It would be so much easier in creative mode to set up the hotkey list once, and just run with it, instead of having to switch out your 9 items each time you switch between tasks. It's much faster/easier to switch items on the PC version, but it takes a lot more time for the consoles.

This might not be a viable option in survival mode (unless someone has an idea or proposition of how it could work), but it would definitely be useful for those who really enjoy doing creative builds or uses the creative mode.

    Anyone have any comments/suggestions?
    Hate this idea? Love it?

@Junokaii - I imagine it would definitely be like how they do colored wool now. They all have the distinct 'wool' pattern and they're just colored differently.

I think this is a great idea though. It allows for some more unique housing and color combinations.

Colored redstone (kind of like different color wires IRL).
If you're building complex redstone devices and have multiple circuits doing different jobs within the same area, it might be nice to have a few different colors of redstone to differentiate between each other. Even just having three different colors would suffice.
