The map was done in 1.11.2. I'm opening it in Windows10 Minecraft. I realize it is C++ and the old files are Java. However, the file opens right up and I can move about the map. Yet the coordinates of my aircraft carrier in the 1.11.2, when traveled to in Windows10, is not the same location. So did they change the coordinates? This really shouldn't be this hard to do.
I really hope Microsoft doesn't expect MC players to just rebuild everything they have already done. I want my ship in Win10 MC as the much needed rewrite in C++ means the game actually can run good finally.
I've been working on a naval dock and large aircraft carrier (see image below) in the original Minecraft. I opened this map in Win10 MC, but it loads me in somewhere else on the map. I opened the map in Minutor ( see image below) and it shows my carrier is there, but I have no idea how to get to it.
Seriously, this game needs to have a built in world map with coordinates listed under it. Mods are there, but any for Win10 MC?
I got the coordinates via a minimap in original MC. I then used Win10 MC's /teleport to go there, but there must be a different in original MC and Win10 MC as far as coordinates go as the place I am sent isn't right.
Well when I see forum threads and YouTube video saying [modname] for 1.8 I think perhaps the dev team on that mod meant 1.8. If its is a classic case of new patch, just wait then I'm cool with that. Yet I wanted to make sure before I assume it was nothing more than that.
I would love to use too many items and also looking at WorldEdit CUI and perhaps VoxelSniperGUI.
THE ISSUE?
So many tutorials talking about the minecraft.jar and bin folder. I don't have either. I am using Minecraft 1.8. This is driving me friggin NUTS!
I think I can't find out where language files go now. I think I can't figure out how to change the shape of items. I think I spend more time getting things to work when a new version of MC comes out than I do actually building stuff in MC.
I have no backup to restore. There is no lang folder in assets/minecraft/
I had this set up fine in a previous version. Now I can't seem to figure out how to do it. I wish they woud stop changing things around. I love minecraft but doing anything to edit it is so much work and frustration.
I am working on making a resource pack that is great for making Naval warships. However, I'd like my textures to have names that match. I know how to change textures, but if I want "hangarbayWall" I don't want to have to type in "pink wool" to get it. I had the names changed a few versions ago, but I can't find a lang folder or anything to change the block names. So how in 1.7.10 do you change block names?
If get the en.class file open in notepad and it looks like this:

It might be that it won't happen, but CAN'T?
I'm sorry but there are ways to convert anything to something else. Someone could write a converter app to do this.

Well I hope the make a way to convert the maps over.
