I´m having some problems. Yesterday the mod worked fine, but today when i went online in Minecraft, the "enhancements" didn´t work. I set AA, AF and all that but it didn´t take effect, even after restart. I downloaded a new Magiclauncher but still no go.
I have no mods installed, only this one, not even Mcpatcher or modloader.

Jan 12, 2012Hi there.Posted in: Discussion
There´s a bug i want to report, but when i read the "How to report bugs" thread made my Notch, i saw that i needed IRC.
Anyway, i have a bug that is annoying me quite a bit. With recent updates, ´Farming´ has become more needed. I have 2 cages in my farm, one for sheep and one for chicken.
I noticed that the chickens try to look for a way out, as in, they stack up to the fence gate like they know that is the only way out. The sheep do not to this.
This is annoying when i want to go in to harvest, they escape.
I´m not looking for a solution, i have a solution involving pistons. I mainly want to report this in hopes this will be fixed in the next patch.
So if anyone knows where i can report this or maybe pass it around, that would be great!
After more testing, it looks like its not the fence gate that is causing this.
My cage is made out of fences, 3 fences high, EXCEPT where the gate is. The fence gate is one block high but nothing is above it, which means they are trying to get OVER the fence (If there´s nothing above it)
So even if you can´t jump over the 1 block high fence gate, the chickens seem to think they can.

While I understand your core point, there is a big difference between hosting a server with 4 people and 20+. While I could tell the content of someone's character (the most important part) from how they run a server of any size, it is hard to navigate from hosting a server with friends to having to deal with larger-server issues. While I don't doubt that you are able to manage your server's affairs well, I wouldn't have the confidence to have you administrate a larger server without experience outside of what you have said.
Of course most of what you said is correct. But this seems to me to be a fight over a title or a ´rank´, its kinda silly to me.
Although you mentioned that ´they´ weren´t fit to help, calling them self Admins and think they are qualified to help. Even if they´re not, they´ll crash and burn and learn their lesson (hopefully)
This post just seems sort of pointless to me, no offense.

There is absolutely no way that the "3 million+ paid accounts" blurb is even remotely accurate. If it even exceeded 100k, I'd be shocked. 3 million people would cripple their minecraft.net login authentication to death. People would be unable to log in for days on end.
The forums are a good barometer for seeing how many there really are. Take Everquest 2: 10k users online to the forums (162k at its peak), with a player base of 200k-500k, depending on what reports you read. Thats 2-10%. Rift? About 1 million subscribers, and 300k total accounts created on the forums. Not the same kind of number, but still... 1/3 of their accounts are on the forum. These numbers aren't exact at all, but give you good ballparks to estimate.
Now, Minecraft: 47 online.
What do you want to bet that, of those "3 million accounts", its either counting every minecraft.jar download separately (a dozen or more per person), all the hacked / key generated accounts from dark sites... or both.
No, I don't believe the number one bit.
Are people debating this? 3 million have bought the game but that doesn´t mean they all play at the same time, or that everyone continued playing after buying it, they might not have liked it.
Millions bought Left4dead 2, the most amount i´ve seen playing at the same time is 90.000.
And you can´t count the numbers by counting the forum users... I´ll bet you that not even the half is on the forum, FAR from it.

This is something kind of funny that I have noticed. I sometimes cruise through server threads, just to see what exists out there, and to scope out the competition, and without fail, every time I see someone mentioning that they need help starting a server, there will be a glut of people who "have been admin on a bunch of servers" or "are really good at managing servers." Pardon if I sound rude, but most of these people don't seem fit to help out, let alone have managed several servers. As an admin of a server myself (I am aware of any irony present here) I know the sometimes very hard work that goes into running a server and not going insane, so what accounts for this phenomenon of everyone passing them self as an former admin? (On a side note, it bothers me that someone would ever be admin on more than one server, to me, in order to effectively administrate, you have to be focused, you cannot have complete loyalty to more than one server in that way /rant)
A ) People just lie to get easy ranks
B ) People pass of being Op'd on something like a hamachi server as being "admin"
C ) Minecraft is just such a big game that everyone is likely to have found some server in need of an administrator
D ) Magic/Ancient Aliens/Divine Intervention/etc.
Just curious about this, I get plenty of people asking to be admin and claiming to have extensive experience.
I´m not only a Admin, i host my my own server...
Seriously, why do you care?
Even if i only host a server of 4 (me included) i know a thing or two about administrating a server, and i could definitely help.
Its easy to host your own private server so its not surprising so many have actually done it.
I realize you´re probably talking about big-game rented servers, which i have no idea how to run. But a "Admin" does not specify how big of a server it is or even what kind.
If you really care that people are using the same "rank" as you but don´t actually admin as much as you... Then, actually you can´t do anything, deal with it :wink.gif:
Jan 11, 2012I remember when i first heard of the game, i saw picture of the same castle you see in Lord of the Rings, can´t remember the name (White castle?) I thought that was awesome, someone actually made a huge structure like that within a game.Posted in: Discussion
I tried it, a little confused at first. But when night came and i needed cover, i dug my self down and closed behind me. There is something about being inside something you built (even if this was just a dirt cave) that pleases me. I love building stuff in Minecraft, and i love even more to make the inside feel cozy.

Why the hell would an adult play this game? This game is almost made for children -- its just a few steps away: no swearing, and stuff like that.
Do you really think so? Although the game looks like a game for children (bright colors and blocky surroundings that look like legos), the game offers much to an adult person. Anyone that wants to express his or hers creativity can find this game amusing, no matter the age.
To answer the one who made the post. I host my own server, for me and my friends. That way you can avoid people you don´t like. We are 4 in total, age 22,24,19 and my little cousin who´s 13.
Jan 11, 2012Hi.Posted in: Discussion
In this video you should see a bug that i assume all of you know, i´m talking about the bouncing animals.
(The video is darker then the game for some reason, but you should be able to see it regardless)
This bug has been in the game for a long time and i´m wondering if anyone knows if this is planned to be fixed, or maybe someone knows of a hot-fix?
Even if no-one can answer that, at least i´ve posted this so it serves as a bug-report, kind of... :smile.gif:

Is it always the same pattern of blocks?
Are you on a multiplayer server? If so, it could be a spawn protection of some sort, or as stated, griefers.
Endermen very well could be the problem, except they usually place the block, unless they die and it is lost.
Does this happen anywhere else? Do you have any mods installed?
Most of your questions are already answered, ether in the post or my first comment.
Spawn protection is unlikely, as the original spawn is far from this place (if that´s what you´re talking about)
No mods are installed on the server, although i have TMI (tomanyitems) installed on my personal client.
Thanks for trying :smile.gif:

It's probably just an Enderman if you've had it since 1.8, they can pick up blocks randomly. Notch nerfed this in 1.9, has it reduced since one of the pre-releases?
In addition, do other people play on the server? It's very possible that they have griefed it.
Enderman hitting the same location twice and so much? This has happened twice and the damage is exactly the same each time. i.e, same blocks are disappearing and the same stay.
The people that play on my server are friends and family, so they aren´t doing this. When this happened the first time i thought someone had just lured a creeper down there without noticing, but a second identical incident points to this being a bug :/
Thanks for the input though! :biggrin.gif:

What you see in the picture used to be a fully built room. I´ve had this bug since 1.8 or 1.9. But like most bugs from BETA it wasn´t fixed in the release.
This is only happening to this room (or actually this is a mine), its the second time it has happened, i re-built the first time but i don´t see the point now since this keeps happening.
Anyone know whats going on? Since it wasn´t fixed in the release, i have little faith this will be fixed in the next patch, so i´m looking for a fix.
This is happening on a server map, a server that i run.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I just use voxelsniper on my server to smooth out the transition.
It's still annoying!
I googled this Voxesniper and i noticed that the installation instructions were for bukkit server. I´m not exactly sure what a bukkit server is... I downloaded my server through minecraft.net, its hosted on my computer, so i´m guessing mine is not a bukkit server?
Can this be used with normal servers?

I´ve been told that before... Its not exactly a solution. Unless you would care to explain what exactly i should do in MCedit?
MCEDIT gives me the option to add blocks, so i can complete this mountain with dirt. But what does that solve? I go even further and here it is again! I need the map to stop generating this bug.
