Nov 2, 2012Saiph2 posted a message on DON'T PANIC -- Regarding "Warning - visiting this web site may harm your computer!"* * So why does Curse.com not bother to security-check ad material, whether it comes from themselves or a third party? * *Posted in: News
It's bad enough being bombarded by trash when visiting the Curse site, and bad enough that the ads slow down the free version of the Curse client so that it sometimes becomes unusable. But when it turns out that these ads aren't even checked, and can represent a security risk to Curse users and their computers, that's ridiculous. I hope Curse management has learned something from this, and will change their policy regarding third-party ad material in the future, to keep their visitors safe. -
Jul 1, 2012Saiph2 posted a message on Community Creations - The Banner ContestAll the banners look good, but I think Eli's is the best for a number of reasons:Posted in: News
- It's colourful.
- It mentions the MineCraft name, as well as Community Creations.
- It includes a snappy slogan.
Your post needs some more work done to it. It isn't very good at the moment. ;-) -

It takes a real psychopath to spend time adding all these real-world guns into a game like minecraft. Why are Russians and Americans always such violent people? Very sad.

I think it's possible to include new music tracks inside a MineCraft mod/resource pack. I don't know the technical details of how to create one, but if modders can include new blocks, tools, materials etc into the game, I don't see why you couldn't add music as well. I think I remember playing some mod packs a long time ago which changed the music.
So just find out how to create a mod, add your music into it, and you'll be able to let other MineCraft players hear your songs. Good luck!

"I need to do parkour to go to bed"!
That made me smile!
Better luck with your building projects in future.

This makes no sense. What are you asking?

What features does the Lunar client have? Why is it worth downloading? I just went to the Lunar client website to look for information, and the lazy devs just say "Countless features" without even giving a feature list! ROFLMAO!

Hmm, personally I think that would be a bit of a grind.

Security error when trying to connect to the "Store" URL.
Do you really make $75 payouts? How do players get them? Sounds dodgy to me.

Creepers are not in the game to make things easier for you. They are in the game to give you a challenge, to see if you can develop strategies and methods of dealing with their threat.

It's pretty brainless for people to try to re-use a commonplace global term which has been around for decades. Everyone on the planet knows what "double clicking" really means. And it has nothing to do with gaming!

This is completely false.

You need to remember that the texture pack you're using has 256 TIMES as much data for EACH SURFACE in your Minecraft world than a standard world has. That will inevitably create a large performance cost, even if you had a top-notch pro-gamer rig. You can't expect to run Minecraft at 60-100 FPS with 256x256 textures and a 27-chunk radius with your hardware.

You need to contact Mojang directly to sort out any problems with accounts, security, email addresses etc.

My theory is that everything in MineCraft is a hallucination. None of it is real. There are no such things as 'creepers', 'zombies', 'horses', 'dirt blocks', 'stone blocks' etc. The player is, in fact, sitting at a computer which is moving a load of pixels around on the computer screen.

Ok. I'm not really an advanced redstone builder, but I have seen lots of plans on wikis which don't seem to need resistors. But if you say that they would be useful then I'll change my vote. Good luck!

I don't see the point of the resistor. How would it be useful for redstone circuit builders? There is already a built-in resistance in redstone circuits, which is why we have to use repeaters to keep the signal going over long distances. I don't see how it would be useful to introduce a device which makes the resistance problem worse.
I think this idea might face some resistance!
