posted a message on Theory: the Phantom is actually a hallucination of the character

My theory is that everything in MineCraft is a hallucination. None of it is real. There are no such things as 'creepers', 'zombies', 'horses', 'dirt blocks', 'stone blocks' etc. The player is, in fact, sitting at a computer which is moving a load of pixels around on the computer screen.

Uh, to make the mechanisms more compact when you need more resistance without a massive coil of redstone dust sticking out of the machine?
Especially when creating a logic gate with use of Comparator or Adder?

Ok. I'm not really an advanced redstone builder, but I have seen lots of plans on wikis which don't seem to need resistors. But if you say that they would be useful then I'll change my vote. Good luck!

I don't see the point of the resistor. How would it be useful for redstone circuit builders? There is already a built-in resistance in redstone circuits, which is why we have to use repeaters to keep the signal going over long distances. I don't see how it would be useful to introduce a device which makes the resistance problem worse.

I think this idea might face some resistance! ;) :D

GLDC you are trying to run Minecraft on a computer using Intel graphics, and with a processor which only runs at 1.6GHz. I'm sorry but you are never going to get good performance with a setup like that. The memory usage doesn't matter. Minecraft and Java are only using as much as they need. The problem is that your computer doesn't have enough speed & power.

posted a message on Why do people creat iron golem farms?

I think it makes people feel clever when they build an automated production process. But as you say, if you're exploring undergound anyway, and searching for diamonds, an iron farm should be unnecessary. I always end up with more iron than I know what to do with.

posted a message on Can I sue a staff member for destroying a server?

If you ever did bring a case, I'm sure it would be taken into account that you willingly gave control of the server to your developer. If the server is important to you, you should be doing your best to keep it secure, including implementing procedures to ensure that no-one can 'destroy' it, lock you out of it etc. You don't seem to have thought things through properly. If someone puts your server out of action, and you were the one who gave them access to it, then you would be considered to have contributed to your own problem. So IMHO the chances of you being awarded any compensation or other remedy from a case like that would be almost zero.

Ah that's no problem then haha. But just out of curiosity, when you say the generation code has changed. Does that include all the older versions of Minecraft including 1.3.2? So even if I did knew the seed and put it on that version will it not generate the same?

I just checked the Minecraft launcher, and to my surprise it does still list "release 1.3.2" as one of the versions which you can install. I've never checked back that far before! The world generation code has only changed in newer versions, so if you could install 1.3.2, and if there was some way of recovering your old seeds, then yes, you should see your worlds as they were back in 2012.

posted a message on Is there a way to recover old seeds?

There's no reason why your Minecraft account would remember old world seeds, there is no "seed history". World data isn't kept as part of your account, it's all contained in the data files on your computer. It's true that if you play online with other people, then world data is transmitted back and forth as avatars move around and make changes to the world. But when you stop playing, all the world data is saved in local save files, not on the server.

Even if you could find the seeds for your old worlds, I think it's possible that you wouldn't be able to get your old worlds back again anyway. The world generation code in Minecraft has changed quite a lot since 2012, so old seeds may not generate the same scenery as they did back then.

Sorry, but I think you're just going to have to cherish your happy memories of 2012.

posted a message on Chunk corruption destroyed my village - partially solved.

The responses you've had are fully enlightened. Everyone who plays Minecraft and invests a lot of time and energy into creating worlds, should also invest a little time and energy into creating a simple and quick backup system which can rescue you from problems like this. It's so easy to do, and can resolve a lot of issues.
