    Modpacks can modify slight modpack-specific details as long as they don't claim the structures by doing so.

    A few of the stilt-houses have experimental hopper/dispenser-loot, and I still need to upload the last updates, which has a lot of extra houses, designed to increase the variety over the world.

    What did you have in mind for chest loot? I've designed a good assortment of rules that account for all kinds of balance, and I could release a version of my next update to favor something specific, as well as one with my own personal preferences.

    I was mostly referring to having a couple one-off chests contain special things, like some TMs and vials of pokemob DNA in the few tech-themed structures. With LootTweaker, I also changed the theme and usefulness of some of the loot tables, so some are more or less fitting for certain ruins than they used to be. Though, those are pack-specific things that should be my responsibility to get working, and it would make more sense for you to focus on things that work by dropping them into normal games. If you have anything ready-to-update now I'd appreciate the new structures. This was the last thing I'm working on for packmaking, so it'll probably be ready within a week.

    I second Discord as a good idea, if it's possible. An official post on the FTB forums would also be nice; it's the largest forum for modded minecraft I'm aware of. Either would help with people sharing custom ruins, while github is more for official releases.

    Gillymoth and Jordan_Peacock: I'm making a modpack (working title is ParasCube, might change later) where I'd like to use your structures. From your readmes, this seems fine? Also, Gillymoth, do you mind if I make minor alterations to the structures for my pack? The change I want to make is to make custom chest loot for some of the houses.

    posted a message on Is there a setting to stop the game from pausing when changing window in a single player world? (in Java Edition)

    Open your inventory

    You can also "Open to LAN" in the options, which will prevent it from pausing even when in the usual pause menu.

    posted a message on Least Fav Tree type (Birch = Worst)

    Birch are my favorite tree because they are always harvestable from the ground, and are relatively consistent growth-wise so if I'm lining a path I don't have to worry about one of the trees randomly being 3x bigger than the others or having leaves too low to walk underneath.

    Oak can be really annoying early game because on one hand you get free food, but on the other there's a small chance of having a huge annoying tree that needs to be climbed and is hard to cut all the way down without accidentally leaving bits behind.

    Spruce not only has the same problem of oak that sometimes leaves need to be broken on the way to the trunk because they grow so low to the ground, but sometimes require pillaring up to take out the last few logs on the top which chews through extra axe durability and is just annoying.

    Jungle and dark oak are pretty nice, because the 2x2 trunks are easy to spiral up and give a ton of wood. Acacia are usually too tall but at least the branches are visible without leaves in the way.

    All in all, I think my least favorite is probably spruce, with oak as a close second.

    posted a message on What is the earliest version of minecraft that supports / has shader mods?

    I've been playing modded minecraft since 1.6.2 or so, and I only started noticing shaders appearing recently, in 1.12.2. Before the last few months, people who wanted "better looking" minecraft just used 32x32 texture packs.

    I looked through a minecraft skin library until I found a mage's robe outfit that was the right general shape, then changed the colors and tweaked the details until it looked right.

    posted a message on What is your ideal house location?

    A flat area surrounded on multiple sides by interesting tall hill structures (either extreme hills or one of the hilly variants of other biomes). Savannas and their subtypes work really well for this. That way, I can build things like farms and animal pens early game in the flat area, then expand into the hills when I have more resources. Also, it means my houses always have really nice views.

    I haven't tested in game, but looking at the templates, the testruin commands in InvadeUndeadStarter need / in front of them. For example:

    rule4=0,100,CommandBlock:RUINSTRIGGER testruin ~60 _ ~ InvadeUndeadLegion:@

    should be

    rule4=0,100,CommandBlock:RUINSTRIGGER /testruin ~60 _ ~ InvadeUndeadLegion:@

    I'm also pretty sure that the "~60 _ ~" part goes after the name of the template, but it's been a while since I completed my template collection, and a few things have changed since then. Try reordering it to rule4=0,100,CommandBlock:RUINSTRIGGER /testruin InvadeUndeadLegion ~60 _ ~:@ if that still doesn't work.

    posted a message on How do I change my mipmap settings to 0 outside of the game?

    (Note that I only have minecraft installed via the twitch launcher because I use Forge mods, so this might be something that Forge or mods add instead of vanilla minecraft)

    When I go into the game folder (the one that has the folders for saves, screenshots, etc. in it) there's a file called options.txt which has a line with "mipmapLevels" as an option. If that exists inside your minecraft folder, try changing the number from 4 to 0 there.

    posted a message on Im confused about my key mapping origins

    It's possible that R was drop and/or Q was crouch in another video game you played back then, and you switched minecraft's controls to match? I've done that a few times with games.

    Hello. What does this error mean?

    Also, if possible, explain what is unbalanced nesting in this context?

    I have also had the same error on the other template(K10_CastleCottage_01_1v12), I have just replaced the whole rule with a cobblestone and there were no errors. I want to know if I can actually fix this without losing any authors blocks. This is the pack I have downloaded from http://greywolf.critter.net/minecraft.htm (ADVENTURE LITE
    (Adventure + NO CB)
    )

    My game crashed a couple of times and this(and then related errors after this, they al point to the ruins template) was the only error in the log. I can just remove the template, but I am curious. Thank you.

    There was an error with the ingame parser a few versions back that added a bunch of misplaced \ symbols around certain things. I recently had to go through my own collection removing them. It shouldn't cause any crashes - the only thing that happens is the affected template won't generate.

    You can fix the templates yourself by removing the \'s that are around quotation marks, so for example {EntityTag:{id:\"minecraft:husk\"}} should become {EntityTag:{id:"minecraft:husk"}}

    posted a message on Java or Windows 10?

    The Windows 10 version has a cash shop (called the marketplace) where you need to pay real money to purchase things to play with in the game.

    Java has one of the most robust modding communities in gaming, to the point where if you ever get bored of vanilla minecraft there are so many modpacks with such different play styles that it's almost like getting a dozen extra games for free.

    Sounds good to me. A note saying something like "includes additional ruins templates created by..." in the description should be fine. The only minecraft-related site I have is my ruins dropbox.

    Rule 4 should be rule4=0,100,air

    Rule 20 is missing the rule20 in front of the =

    Also, unless it's changed since last time I worked on templates, if you want Rule 6's mob spawner to spawn anything you'll need to replace it with =0,100,MobSpawner:Zombie (or replace Zombie with whatever mob should be there)
