    Thank you Nox, I almost forgot to mention that.

    Our server is going to try to keep the Survival aspect alive as much as possible. We are not going to be fully-vanilla, but we will be very close to it.

    Coming November 10th, 2012

    Hello. I'm SRStark20, one of the two Owners of Cryptic Phoenix. The other is Nox_Anima. Cryptic Phoenix started out as a small classic server back in April of this year, but has since erupted into a thriving community, with active and friendly moderators. As many of you are probably aware, Classic is on the decline, and the new way up is through Survival Multiplayer servers. It's time for Cryptic Phoenix to get in on this, and you're all invited to the opening on November 10th, 2012.

    I will answer any questions below, but it may take a few hours for a response, as I'm not much of a frequent flier around here. Cryptic Phoenix will NOT be using Minecraftforum.net as a sort of application center.

    Since we still have a bit till opening, here are a few things you can do to get in on the action early...
    1. Sign up on our forums at http://www.crypticphoenix.com. You'll be kept up to date with all of the latest news surrounding Cryptic Phoenix, and you'll need an account anyways to apply for the right to build when we open.
    2. Join our Classic server. Although it is not as popular as it was in the past, Cryptic Phoenix still boasts a solid Classic server, which can always serve as a nice break from the hustle and bustle of playing on Survival.

    Our server recently was down, and was put back up.

    It's up on WoM, but it may take a bit for it to regain its status on Minecraft.net.

    I'll try to get a direct connect URL updated into the original post once I have the time.

    Last of a Dying Breed

    Minecraft Classic as a whole may be dying,
    but that doesn't mean that there still aren't a select few great servers out there.

    Here at Cryptic Phoenix, we are trying to keep the traditional Minecraft alive. We realize that everything is slowly starting to go downhill with the classic aspect of the game, but frankly, we don't care, and we are willing to fight it to the end.

    We still have an active core of players, although the numbers have been declining a bit over the past months. We are currently in an in-between period, which is why this thread has been posted to make sure that this isn't our final period, with the server actually dying. Outside of our active core of friendly and mature Moderators, we hold gun tournaments every weekend, almost to the point where they have become a signature function at the server. You gain access to the server upon earning the "Trusted" rank, which takes the typical player around a week or two of dedication and building on the server.

    Outside of our competitive tournaments, we function like any other Minecraft server. We've got a slew of ranks (with Moderator positions currently available to those wishing to dedicate time to the server), tons of great maps, near 24/7/365 uptime, our own IRC channel, and a semi-developed Wikia.

    Just easier to run for me.

    I can't run any current Minecraft editions on my computer without getting about three or four FPS.

    I run my own server, but now that's pretty much killed because Mojang has it about as hidden as possible on the MC.net site, so traffic is at an all-time low.

    Classic Minecraft will be dead within another month or two.

    I don't get "owned".

    The only time I die is when I make a derp mistake and fall into lava. I honestly only think I've been killed by a mob once or twice in a span of over a year and a half.

    Didn't really do much of anything.

    My FPS went from like 4 to 9. Not much of a change.
