posted a message on Cant find a good server after looking for months
So im looking for a server to play on that fits this criteria

    - Towns and economy
    - Survival
    - no stuff like spleef etc for money

I found a few but they were all American servers so it lagged for me so im trying to find an aussie server under these specifics

i think i found one server under the specifics but because it had no whitelist there were so many greifers

    Guess i can't go again.

$4000 for a ticket to go over to US east cost and thats only oneway

then by the time i get somewhere to stay and buy my ticket to minecon ill have spent $6000 on one convention not worth it tbh.

We need a convention in Australia as it costs american's $1000 to get here but it costs us $2000-4000 to visit there which is so unfair.

But hope you have fun and i hope in the future new minecons will happen near more accesible places
    Quote from OakMist

I would love to go but I live on the other side of the world :( If only Minecon could be held in Australia...

I agree and flight tickets for one event are just to danm expensive in comparison to American flights

I keep a lot of my gog games on a USB stick, much better than steams cloud (which doesn't even work half the time for me)

Hmm i see what you mean :P but i still use steam as steam cloud works for me and it's easier if steam cloud didn't work for me i would go with the usb alternative with GoG also.Oh and i have a good point to make alot of people makes this but when the servers go down who can play the game without pirating it.

    NO-ONE!.

unless you've been living under a rock sim citys launch bombed all because of the always online DRM. now im not saying the always online DRM is a good thing. but for the love of god their are so many stupid people out there who just want to get rid of DRM altogether its ridiculous!

yes we can all agree that always online DRM is stupid and never a good idea. but the ammount of people going against DRM in general is just ridiculous, and whats even stupider is their reasons.
-"it dosent stop any piracy" yes it does, without any DRM the video game market would be completely dead on PC.
-"it encourages piracy" since when? the only time it encourages piracy is when you have something that requires always online internet. if i was a hacker or at least good with a computer and somebody put DRM on a game my only reaction would be "ok, well now to play it"
-"i should completely own the game" you do completely own the game, yeah its through a distribution service but its still yours, the DRM is in palce to make sure its only yours. and DRM has benefits too, all of steam is one giant DRM program

just needed to vent on this(and i never vent online ever) its just so annoying how big of a dumby some people can be with DRM and start going on about how it shouldnt exist at all

Ok i live in Australia where our internet is slow 5mbps at max i can't play WoW without lagging to the box.

Online DRM just stops me from playing that game alltogether and that is stupid not everyone has internet or good internet for that fact.

I like to burn my games and give them to my friends who are less fortunate and have no internet as with DRM free games that is legal.

The hatrid on DRM is spot on!.

Seriously not everyone has internet or good internet besides that i tried sim city 5 i can't even play with all the lag from the server side.
    Quote from Skingrad

Steam would be 1000% better if the one time activation didn't exist to be honest. If I can get the game from GoG that doesn't require online I will do just that and add it to my steam UI just to use the chat/features.

I agree but GOG sucks in some ways i have to use steam like some other people because i go from my Dad's and my mothers to my Nan's house randomly now-a-days till im 18 so im on various computers without steam cloud i wouldn't be able to play my games.

GoG doesn't have a cloud network so its a loss for people like me but i do agree with you. Also steams drm is an ok drm as you can play offline with your games.

    Quote from boxanata

    Miasmata?

Miasmata is a first-person survival/adventure game, developed from the ground-up by brothers Joe and Bob Johnson. You play as Robert Hughes, a plague-stricken scientist on a journey to discover a cure. Your adventure begins on the shores of a remote and mysterious island. Long ago, the island was inhabited by a group of indigenous people, whose extant monuments still decorate the island landscape. The island is now home to a scientific research outpost and it is your hope to reunite with your colleagues working there. Unfortunately, you'll soon discover that something has gone terribly wrong.

During your adventure, you will encounter a mysterious and deadly creature. This creature can stalk you for miles, lurking behind grasses and vegetative cover. By treading carefully and with stealth, you may be able to elude the creature. If you are careless, however, you will be forced to confront the creature head-on.

posted a message on Can someone explain to me why developers ignore Mac?
Because porting games between the OS is rather hard its getting easier for developers now but i think Mac's crash alot more then computers with Windows on them.

The only time my pc had crashed in the last 5 years was when i was trying to generate a simulation of over 10k Blocks in under 1 hour.

    .....not the best idea.

Window's is a faster and more Stable OS i find and alot of developers do also.
thats why most shy away from Mac but as i say if you want an OS for gaming get Window's Mac is more for Media etc.
    Quote from iBurnDiamonds

Really? I did EXACTLY what you just said. actually a $700 decent windows computer and it completely shattered (not literally).
And plus if your calling my mac slow or a bad graphics card or whatever (im not a big techie), I havent had a single problem in 3 years.

    Only $700.

Seriously i had mine made for $3000 if i have made it myself it would have been $2600 or so.

Mac's are alot more expensive then Window's so i think window's is better but it depends on the Application.

My Media teacher said the same thing i always thought

    Windows = Gaming
    Mac = Media editing etc.

Well you can Game on a mac it is more suited for stuff like editing etc.
