I suggest building your sheep farm two block high with fence on top of 2nd block, then create a small piston system that will elevate you up those two blocks, so you don't have to worry about them getting out...or a ladder lol
If not, you could make a record farm out of a skeleton spawner.
I have been playing xbox360 minecraft since it came out, which means I've made at least 4 worlds that I've put time into, so I also get "creator's block" -haha.
Sheep farms...for different wool colors..
I use one color ONLY for wiring, one ONLY for water, etc..
I suggest you bring wheat, lead them to another chunk or two "loading area", and trap them there. Then go back to your mushroom isle. If they still don't spawn, you're just out of luck and should wait longer.
I have a world where my only mushroom isle was about 12 blocks of mycelium..ended up placing more dirt and they eventually spawned.
It doesn't matter if I've built a lot or not, when I am in Nether the game will freeze for a split second, every 5-15 seconds. During this time, everything stops too.
While this "frame rate drop" or "momentary freeze" happens, all action is halted. This is a problem because you'll have to re-mine something, or finish turning around (half the time I don't know what direction I'm facing after it happens, I have to re-coordinate myself, distracts from what I'm doing), or fall off a cliff thinking you walked that small amount of space when you didn't. It's really frustrating, especially in the middle of combat. It makes avoiding projectiles harder, or you end up mining blocks under a farm, or opening and closing a door too many times or not at all, which can be a real problem when hostile mobs are around and you need every bit of dexterity to get done what you want.
haha yea...I kind of am at a loss for creativity since my last world I did so much...I found a skeleton spawner, so I think I will be making a record farm soon.
I mined obsidian and went to nether, managed to find a blaze spawner, built around it so they can't get out, killed a few blazes, found and killed some lava blobs, made a brewing table, and created resist fire + strength, made a full set of iron armor, went back into nether and killed enough blazes to score 1.5 stacks of blaze rods.
I used all the experience to enchant my sword which has: looting 3, knockback 2, sharpness 4. ...yup.
Diamond pickaxe is: fortune 3, efficiency 3, durability 4...yup!

8 Diamond chunk: 82, 15, 296
4 Diamond chunk: 3, 4, 304
Skeleton Spawn: 218, 21, 179
Spider Spawn (surface): -177, 60, 248
End Portal: -166, 49, 37
Blacksmith w nearly full iron gear: 271, 66, 269
Mushroom isle (very small but can spawn mooshroom cows by expanding isle w dirt): 237, 64, -370
This map flows very well in terms of blending biomes. Some parts of jungle biomes meet desert biomes and looks very cool.
There is another spider spawner just below surface, a cave leads directly to it.

Please fix!

I've made like 4 new maps, pretty much one for every update.
Every time I do, I build less and less, because my building gets more efficient.

So, I created a new world.
So far I've created a perimeter around 0,0. Any mob who falls into the 2 block high ditch gets moved down stream to a collection point.
There's a ravine I found under me, and I found about 6 diamond..
Made 1 diamond pick axe, 1 enchanting table, 1 diamond sword.

The minecraft life is good!
