posted a message on Seeking, Small Community Based Group

Yeah, I don't really have many friends that play Minecraft currently, even the ones online. Do you have a group that you play with regularly?

It would be nice to find like-minded people, so I hope someone comes across this.

posted a message on Seeking, Small Community Based Group

Hoping to find some new long-term friends!

Server Size: A small server, no more than maybe like 30 people at its biggest.

Clients: I own the Java, Windows 10, and Pocket Edition of Minecraft.

Server Age Group: I'm 31. I would prefer 25-30+ aged players, though I will be okay with 18+.

Server Theme: Community oriented preferred, Hermitcraft okay. Non-hardcore survival. Not interested in PvP or Factions.

Communication: I prefer Discord and using voice chat when doing group based activities. My neighborhood sucks, so there may be occasional noise outside.

Time Zone: I'm EST USA. My usual hours will differ throughout the week, longer hours being available during weekends.

My Minecraft Experience: Started playing in April 2012. I played regularly on a server some years ago, where I became a mod and pretty much mediated any issues between server-mates. I'm now looking to just be a player and help out every now and then. I do a fair amount of farming, resource gathering, and keeping materials organized. I enjoy working together, PvE, rather than against each other. So common goals are my forte. I like supplying and helping with logistics of community events/builds/activities. I'm not a huge builder, usually preferring to live in a cave or have a tiny house with an underground base.I will adhere to any building themes a realm/area has though. Any pranks done, are usually quite harmless, like boats in a yard or a house filled with cake. I'm not into any pranks that destroy/harm/disrupt builds and players.

It's been a very long time since I've played with a group in Minecraft and I've decided to test the waters again.

Do you think you could create a function for it to auto-pick up certain blocks? Either tie it to a certain backpack created or user-set?

I guess vanilla armour should be enough. Some TTF armour may come in handy as well. You'll just have to be strategic and not rush the Hydra head-on like I do while wearing full Draconic Evolution, Thaumic Tinkerer or Redstone Arsenal armour.

Taking a look at your mod list:
-You need CodeChickenCore for NEI, the correct CodeChickenLib will automatically be downloaded by CCC.
-It's not really "fair" to count the core mods as separate mods when going for less than 20 mods total. For NEI, you need both CCC and CCL, which means that this mod would count for 3, which may be ridiculous as some other mods may be bigger, but downloaded as 1 mod.
-I am missing OpenEye and some of these other mods. If this server is going to be big, you also may want to include Forge Essentials. There are some plugins for Waila (Harvestability or Wawla) you could consider as well.

TTF? I'm not sure I'm familiar with that/don't know what it stands for. xD I don't want anything that has technical/power/energy tech requirements.

Well, I may go over 20 mods then, but I don't want this to be a heavy pack, you know? I installed Obsidian/Emerald armor and tools, I also put in a few of the utility mods you already suggested. And yeah, I just don't it to be massively different from vanilla. TF was supposed to be the biggest non-vanilla aspect with that vanilla adventure feel. I'll report back with some more experiments.

Also, this is supposed to be a modpack for just me and my SO. c:

I've only just caught up on all the updates that TF has had since 1.6.4 and I'm pretty impressed. I'm creating a personal modpack and keep it super close to vanilla. It's for me use on a server. I don't want use more than 20 at max and keep it to slightly enhance vanilla. I don't want something that massive alters the terrain or adds any tech or complex systems. TF is supposed to be the only big thing in it. Here's my lineup so far. Mind you, this is just all the mods I need compiled in one spot. I know some of these are only client-side and others are server side. :3

    Runzu

I wanted to know, will the vanilla armors be enough to progress through TF without too much difficulty? And if not, is there something that is super close to vanilla or just a little bit better than vanilla to use?

I'm very curious. Could I use this to find Dungeons IE Mob Spawners in the world? I'm not talking about Temples and such. Just normal old mossy cobblestone dungeons?

No worries. BoP uses the same biome dictionary system as harvestcraft and Vanilla - ie. COLD, WET, PLAINS, HILLS, etc.. so as long as you're on the latest version, you should be finding cactus gardens in all desert types, berry gardens in all swamp types, tropical gardens in all jungle type biomes, etc. As for the Apple Saplings.. I'm assuming you already realise the BoP apple sapling is different to the Harvestcraft apple sapling ..and, unless it's changed in an update that I'm not yet using, the BoP apple sapling isn't crafted. It's dropped in the same way vanilla tree saplings are.

So, if you simply want to remove the Harvestcraft Apple sapling recipe, without adding another recipe for it, that would be a simple one line.

    recipes.remove(<harvestcraft:pamappleSapling>);

Create a new text file and copy the above line into it. Then save your file with the extension ".zs"

(ie, save the file as recipe.zs).

If you've already installed Minetweaker then you will already have a "scripts" folder (it will be in the same .minecraft folder where your mods and config folders are). Put your recipe.zs file into that scripts folder and start your game.

Ah. I think it's the fantasy biomes that throw me for a loop, because I've looked up a few and they seem to be tagged with several different identifiers sometimes? Like Fungi Forest is counted as forest & swamp? xD I've found berry gardens, tropical ones, leafy gardens, herb gardens in it. xD If there's a garden in it, the crops will grow fine? Or is it affected by the other aspects of the biome? xD

Ah, yes. I thought that they could be crafted. Derp. xD Welp. Thank you. I feel really derpy now. xD Thank you though! :D I really super appreciate it!

The harvestcraft plants (ie gardens and trees) do grow in BoP biomes. Both the trees and gardens are now showing up in the correct biomes, from what I've read and seen in game with the most up-to-date version.

With the generation rate for gardens and trees, the lower you set the number in the config file, the more rare they will be. For example, I like to be forced to explore for scarce food, so I have gardenRarity=1, enablegardenSpread=false and the various fruittreeRarity=3

As for disabling recipes, the easiest way is to use Minetweaker. There are many examples around showing you how to use it but, if it's just one recipe, you might as well post which recipe it is here and I could PM it.

Oh. Thanks! I just sometimes wonder which biomes in BOP will grow her plants appropriately. xD

    And thank you very much for that! I really appreciate it! ; u;

I just want to disable the recipe for apple trees. I prefer BoP's recipe for it. xD I was trying learn the GUI for the visual Recipe Maker, but there didn't seem to be a tutorial on it. I would appreciate it though.

You need a second mod to "disable" what you need, the config does not provide an option for that.

    Thank you! c:

Know about the other two questions I had? c:

I couldn't find anything during a long search, but could someone help me understand the numerical values in the config file for Harvestcraft? Such as rarity, spread rate, saturation, and such? I've never really edited a config file and I couldn't seem to find a tutorial anywhere. I didn't want to accidentally disturb something in my game.

Also, is there a way to disable recipes? I only want to disable one and I'm not sure how to go about doing that.

Oh, and does her plants grow with the modded variants of vanilla biomes when Biomes O'Plenty is installed? :3
