I just logged in to check out the patch and I found myself falling a long distance and dying.
My Death point is unreachable no matter what world I choose. I lost my maxed sword and upgraded pick and maybe my shovel. I don't remember what I had in my inventory, I really don't care about the inventory, it's the sword that I cannot easily replace.
The last place I remember being at was in my house. Not sure what happened.

Have a nice Turkey day everyone. I probably won't be back on until after the Turkey is gone.

I am very concerned about my Complex. I am totally locked out of all blocks there and I am afraid it will disappear.

posted a message on Want a Custom Mod Made? Just Ask!
I am looking for a mod to help with making videos. Sneak is to slow, walk is to fast, need a mid walk speed so as not to rush around in the video. Also It would be nice to re-assign the F5 and F8 keys to a more convenient location. I would also like to change the free movement rate in the F8 function, it is way to loose in default. I know of the mouse movement options in default, but that doesn't help this situation.

    Thanks

    Thanks Jaztrumpet

I wasn't aware that a build could be moved to another world on a server. Would such a move include my redstone protected area also? I have around 10 redstones around the main house to include My mine and all of the out buildings, most of which aren't finished yet.

OMG. I wish you would have said something when I joined the server. I have just spent a month and over 1 mill on building my house and Mine complex. I am trying to make a complicated video of the project to promote the server, but i may not finish in time. What a total waste of my money and time.

I can't log onto the server either. I get a Server Java error message that is so long, it over writes itself so i can't read it.

GeneralTedd, I would like to see your Garden of Zen. I'll give you a shout when I see you.

Clearly their is a language problem here. You should have someone fluent in English translate this for you.

A Phrase "Quit beating the dead horse" is similar to what Jazztrumpet is saying.

The more you post about this problem the more it sounds like you are fabricating a story to suits your needs.
Please don't post any more about this subject. Too many posts with poorly chosen words makes people doubt your sincerity in resolving this issue with the truth.

Can we please let this go??? = Stop posting about this issue, you make it worse for yourself. The more you "Whine" the worse it gets for your reputation.

I hope you can get someone to explain this to you.
    Good luck.

Epic Fail for teachers around the world who churn out students who either can't read, or are too lazy to bother.

I realize that I am a rank beginner on this server, but.
I was a witness to this conversation, and I have to say it was really annoying to see such an argument take place. No offense to either participant as it was none of my business. but I would have thought that an established server such as yours, would already have put into place enforceable PVP rules and setups, just to avoid this type of situation.

An example of one pvp setup might be, you warp to the pvp area and land in a neutral area.
You are presented with 2 options.
Option 1 is a green wall with a steel door in it and signs spelling out all of the PVP rules and a sign stating " PVP NO Drop Zone".
Option 2 is a red wall with a steel door in it. On this wall you give the rules for Ultimate PVP and a sign stating " PVP, You Can Lose Your Items Here!".
Both doors are opened with a button/warp.
You enter a rectangle PVP safe room, with a open door at each end. Participants leave though opposite doors to the active PVP area where they start the fight.

blah bla blah, bla blah, bla blah,,,,,, people will still gank.

    Btw,
    GL with that,

posted a message on Spawning rules for passive mobs (cows, chickens, pigs, etc.)
Thanks to King Korihor for this post. (like your vid also)

I have had no success spawning passive mobs in Skyblock 1. I read King's post about mob spawners maybe blocking passive spawns and decided to experiment. I opened a copy of my Skyblock world and made multiple passive spawn sites based on distance from mob spawner and distance from Me. Still no success, So I went into peaceful mode and put torches inside the mob spawner to disable it. and Wham, within 5 minutes one of my passive spawners had a sheep and a pig.

I think a dense pack of hostile mobs may really be blocking the passive mobs from spawning. Plus only one of my spawners has given any passive mobs. The distance from your active site seems to be critical in getting a spawn. I haven't yet figured out how the 24 blocks away distance from Me works . Yes, Wiki says 24 blocks, but is that from the edge of your camp, or where you are most of the time, or what. I can't figure that part out as the distance of 24 blocks from my present spawner makes no sense as to where I am.

I don't see how you can play survival maps like Skyblock and be successful at passive mob spawns with out a better explanation from Notch on exactly how passive spawns work. Also why does a hostile mob spawner break passive mobs from spawning correctly.

Cheating in grass blocks to find the exact place to put in your passive spawner takes the fun out of the map. We should know at least approximately where to put the spawner and get successful spawns. I spent about 5 rl days trying to get a spawner working before I read this post.

Hope this helps. I would like to get some answers before I move on to Skyblock 2

How about you try upscaling it to x64?
I guarantee yours will be blurred the **** out too.

    That's 32x, not 64x. :S

    Talk about Epic Fail! :dry.gif:

It was late and I wondered why it was so easy. I forgot it was a 2x4 square image.

It was a fresh install of P.S. and it was not set up yet. Blur is all your ever going to see on that image in 64x.

posted a message on Guide for Java and Texture Packs and the Black Screen
    Posted Yesterday, 03:46 AM
When i run 256x256 texture packs i only use more than 1 gig of RAM if i have MCE saving chunks in RAM. This guide is BS it does not require 4 gigs of RAM to run a 256x256 texture pack. Stop doomsaying. The part about raising how much memory your Java can use is helpful but you don't need 4 GB by any means lol.

I don't think you read the part of the post concerning max system memory and how Javaw uses system memory. Javaw Needs a Contiguous chunk (a blank chunk of memory all in one piece) If you have only 2gb of ram, you have no chance of running Javaw 32bit at its maximum of 1gb. Most can't do it with 3gb without getting occasional Black Screens, and this is with a 64x pack, let alone a 256x pack.

What your are saying about "only using more 1gb RAM" is the same as what I was saying. Javaw uses more than 1gb of ram for all packs 64x - 256x, and 32bit Windows is really hard pressed to give Javaw a single chunk of memory big enough for Javaw to run even 1gb of contiguous memory. While 64bit Windows and 64bit Javaw have no problem doing that as 64bit Javaw is able to use 3gb of memory.
Minecraft crashes in Windows 32bit when Javaw exceeds its 1gb memory request. But 32bit Windows needs its max 3gb of system memory for best Javaw performance, it cannot allocate more than 1gb to Javaw 32 because Javaw 32bit cannot use more than 1gb. 64bit Windows with 4gb of memory can give more memory to Javaw 64bit to run.
Giving the extreme difficulty of finding 2x512mb of ram to update your dual channel system from 2gb to 3gb, is one of the reasons so many use 4gb, also if you decide to upgrade to Windows 64bit, you're already set for memory, hence my reference to 4gbs.

Thanks for your response, Javaw and Minecraft is sort of like Witch Craft here on the forums, any discussions that can get to any truths will cut down on a whole lot of repeated questions that the makers of Texture Packs have to respond to daily.

    Happy MCing

all packs i use are 16x, even when i have the default minecraft textures the game blackscreens.

i have Vista 32bit with 4 gigs installed. only 3gigs are used of course.

javaw.exe stopped working at 809meg, in minecraft it blackscreened at 129MB of 989MB, allocated 50% 495MB

i had "Far" on the distance and i used the default textures, if i use "Normal" i can play a little longer.

hope this helps somehow and that a solution can be found :S

Is seems you are just running out of memory. Have you optimized Windows to clean out unwanted processes running in the background? Run Task Manager and check the number that is running, you might get these down to 33-44 depending on what you have loaded. Run msconfig from the search box and uncheck any startups that are unnecessary. If you bought the computer new, and never ran pc decrapifier, you might google it and clean out all the crap that is loaded onto new computers. All of this just might free up enough memory to run Mc without Black Screening so much.
Be sure to google any thing you're not sure of if you stop a process or uncheck a startup file.
You can also check "Uninstall programs" and uninstall the toolbars that get loaded. Almost every download these days gives some unwanted crap that gets installed with the desired program. It all adds up to extra memory being loaded by Windows which steals the free space that Javaw needs.

    Good Luck
