This is an Easter egg. Today marks the 2nd birthday of Optifine. So if you have Optifine installed, you should have that splash for today.

quadrupedal_pink_equine posted a message on 30 New NATURALLY spawning SEED-SPECIFIC structures in Vanilla Minecraft 1.11+! Dynamo Release IP 4.2Posted in: Redstone Discussion and MechanismsDied to a trap in the Pharaoh tomb, everything blew up, lost my elytra! I think I'm calling it for that world. >.<
Final score: 21 structures!
Wall O' Trophies (I tried to take one item from every structure, but things got confusing when I couldn't help but put up any mob heads I got from those structures as well.)
Feedback:
I know, I know, it's my fault for not writing down my coordinates when I went into what may be the most deadly dungeon I've encountered for the second time no less, but I do think the TNT trap is excessive. The dungeon is plenty deadly already. I sure am glad it provides spare armor because those pests chew through it like paper. -

Dynamo Release IP 4.2Posted in: Redstone Discussion and MechanismsI absolutely love this "addition" to Minecraft. I tried it on a friends server, and loved it so much, that i introduced it to my whitelist server just now, and im sure all my members will love it too. it really brings an adventure aspect to the game, and the new monsters, and rewards are very awesome.

ChocoParrot posted a message on 30 New NATURALLY spawning SEED-SPECIFIC structures in Vanilla Minecraft 1.11+! Dynamo Release IP 4.2Posted in: Redstone Discussion and MechanismsA major patch release (Dynamo 4.2) has been distributed. This patch focuses on fixing the main engine, Dynamo-Cord. In the previous 2 releases, a major bug had slipped through the beta testing; this bug has been unearthed recently, and it has been discovered that the z-coordinate integrity was breached.
Some FAQs of this update:
Q: Can I not update my previous Dynamo IV versions to this?
A: It is highly recommended that you update. This patch is major, and affects the main engine. However, being that this mainly affects seed-specificity, if you are not very particular about the seed-specific of the previous version, you can consider not updating.
Q: How major is this, exactly?:
A: Very major as the seed-specificity of structures was affected in the previous versions
Q: What benefits can I get from updating?:
A: Seed-specific structures, less latency
Q: I ran my previous world in one of your versions before this. Do I have to reset or do anything before I install this?
A: No, you do not have to reset the world. All you have to do is replace the machine. Do note that terrain already scanned by previous versions will remain that way. Only new terrain that has not been scanned/explored will be subject to the re-implemented seed-specificity
Q: I am using the Mac-OS/OSX installer, how do I update?
A: Simply run the installer again and re-install your machine.
Q: I have a problem that's not answered here and I cannot fix.
A: Send me a private message on the Minecraft Forums - make sure that the problem is well described so I can assist you in fixing it.

A psychotic, ancient mausoleum that is haunted. Those who dare take in on, are reduced to dust.
Pharaoh's Tomb is made by Unusual_dude, with me assisting in the chests and spawners. It comes in the form of a huge labyrinth, which is both impenetrable and very very confusing.

A little bit of an update to Dynamo IV:
- With the introduction of structure blocks, I am glad to confirm that we are using structure blocks for future releases!
- Minecraft 1.9.3 broke the Dynamo base engine and the populator module. This has been fixed now, together with a load of unnecessary command blocks removed!
- Bugs have been squashed. Au revoir, you horrible silverfishes!
- Due to there being structure blocks, you can expect future builds to be of higher quality, more detailed, and in general bigger!
- Dynamo base engine now runs with better precision and accuracy than before, there will be no more incomplete scanning and double scanning!
- Optimisations have been bettered!
The release will come out when I find that time is ripe... so in the meantime, you can feel free to ponder about what new stuff I'm going to add!
That is exactly what I wanted to hear! I do hope the 1.9 compatible version preloaded into a map stays downloadable though, just in case some of my command block mods in my personal "modpack" I wanted to use with it aren't compatible with 1.10 for some reason or another.
I'll be honest the minute I saw structure blocks were being added I immediately jumped to "I can't wait to see what the DYNAMO module can do with this :O"

Therefore, it is strongly not recommended that you install this on a world which has already been populated. You might end up with structures cutting through your player-made ones.
Hah, been there, done that.

Underestimating crypts are dangerous. Maybe even fatal.
Upcoming Dynamo IV dungeon - The Jungle Crypt! Made by Naxane and myself, with the help of Swift_Siren, this crypt is not a child's play. Does it come with secrets? And if it does, how big the secrets? You should find out.

Nether portals "work as intended in Vanilla". If you prefer to run a server with a mod, that is an option WHEN you run a server and have control over that.
Otherwise, http://ilurker.rooms.cwal.net/portal.html and other online "nether portal calculators" are your friend when you do NOT have control over mods, or you wish to play on a Vanilla server, or you are playing on Realms. When I'm doing anything involving Nether portals I spank the heck out of that link above. "Indispensible" in my opinion.
In someone's opinion, portals may be "broken" and "you shouldn't have to mess around" and so on. In *vanilla", portals function as intended, and when they do not, it creates a huge problem for various reasons such as with https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-89928 which would "insta-kill" players with suffocation damage or such. The portals work as they do as a "best simple compromise" on the part of the devs. If it doesn't meet your requirements, you are looking for a plugin or mod, yes.
But knowing and accepting the "how" and "why" of Vanilla Nether Gate behavior is the beginning of wisdom.

I didn't want to overly complicate a discussion of @minecraftmojang646's "how do you set it up on a server?" question by bringing that wrinkle up, but yes.

@ChaosGamerElite, http://bdcraft.net/community/unofficial-addons/ has "add-ons" using Optifine with the same method. I'm considering replacing the basic sword and ax options in ItemBound with the higher resolution BDCraft items, then sending it to the BDCraft Add-ons forum as a "patch" for ItemBound. Nobody has "exclusive ownership" over the method Optifine provides, but ItemBound totally rocks in making use of it.

At least I've not heard anything about twerk mods yet.

https://dev.bukkit.org/projects/villagemarker/files is alive, and "should" support 1.11. I'm running 1.11.2, and I plan to send a tip to eruvanos in gratitude for the 1.11 update and to request for the 1.11.2 update. Throwing money in the direction of a developer is cheaper than me trying to learn all of everything to do it myself.
I will fetch the 1.11 LiteLoader mod in single-player, but I can't test the server plugin as I'm already on 1.11.2.
1
I look forward to the 1.10.2 update to the LiteLoader WorldEditCUI. For the time being, I can login under 1.10.0 to no harm for the CUI.

I keep minecraft music turned off. Every once in a long while I get music playing anyway despite the setting having it turned down, and the master volume doesn't appear to work to make it quiet. There is no music box in the area. Is this a known My wife plays, and it would start for her computer without starting on mine, so it appears to be a totally random thing.
Is there a bug report on this already I can't find? Is it a known thing? I can only shut it off by closing Minecraft PC and restarting.

Ok, I reported this as https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-91271, and I was referred to https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-83488
The "workaround" is to change the compatibility of the shortcut you are using to access Minecraft, and set it "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings".
If you don't mind voting for this on MC-83488, it would be nice to simply have this problem fixed. The next launcher update might break it, and I'll have to remember how to do it all over again.
