posted a message on Landlocked mushroom biome [1.7]
    Seed: 6368981526427675990

I found a rare 1.7 mushroom "island" landlocked inside a desert. As luck has it, there's also a (small) village overlooking the mushrooms.

    Amidst map (custom color scheme):

I'll add other landlocked mushroom seeds to this thread if I find any.

posted a message on 1.6 Mac Right Click Issue
LWJGL (which Minecraft uses and recently updated on your machine) no longer interprets Control-click as right-click on Macs. Vote up the issue on Minecraft's bug tracker so Mojang gets a proper headcount on affected users:
    https://mojang.atlassian.net/browse/MC-13695

And you can see where it's been reported to the LWJGL team, which is where Mojang says responsibility for the fix lies:
    https://github.com/LWJGL/lwjgl/issues/37

In the meantime, you'll have to assign "use item" to some other key (or use a two-button mouse), unfortunately.

posted a message on BE CAREFUL WHEN LOADING YOUR WORLDS IN 1.5
This was a nasty bug that cropped up in the snapshots at some point during 1.5 development (messed up my home badly), but Mojang had it marked as fixed. Apparently it's not...? In any case, the original bug pertained to the breaking (mining) of jukeboxes, so if you have any in your world, I guess don't break them for now, or if you must, make sure your world is backed up first.

Also, for those trying to test the bug (i.e. destroy their homes), the original bug usually manifested only on jukeboxes that were placed in a previous play session; place, re-login, then break was the way to make it happen. (Disclaimer: I can't promise that breaking a jukebox you just placed won't destroy your home. That just seemed to be how it worked back then.)

I'd assumed stick would be the obvious answer.

posted a message on Hit an abandoned Mine shaft
Here's what I do when I'm not in the mood for a full tear-down: proceed through, placing torches on one side only, and when I come to a junction, pick one direction and wall off any others with dirt (just enough so bigger mobs can't walk through, unless I see/hear signs of cave spiders). When I hit the end of a path, scrape the torches out, go back to the nearest junction, and wall off the explored path with cobble. Cobble means finished, dirt means unfinished (and possibly dangerous).

If a path leads you to a dirt wall, this means your path was circular; replace the dirt with cobble so you don't bother coming down this way again.

Repeat until everything is cobbled off.

posted a message on Why Coal and Nether Quart blocks are needed
Based on what I have too much of, I'd go for blocks of coal, wheat, and eggs. That's right, I said an egg block.

posted a message on WHAT THE HELL? MUSIC BOX RESET BLOCK OF LAND.. IN MY HOUSE -.-
It's specifically the jukebox, I think when you destroy it when it's holding a disc. It corrupts the current chunk and resets it to seed state when you reload. May not happen every time, but I suggest against breaking jukeboxes for now (especially not with a disc inside) without a backup in place.

Edit: Some bug reports suggest the disc isn't the issue.

I couldn't find this in the wiki - how did you learn this?

By having my home trashed by the bug and then reading all the bug posts marked as duplicates of the one remaining unfixed jukebox-crash report on the bug tracker. And once again, please vote up this issue here. It'll mess you up, man.

    Quote from fumifieder

Because it seems to me that once you get enough diamonds for 2 sets of good armor and 2 sets of good tools, you don't need any more diamonds; you just need EXP to repair them.

Repairing eats an item each time. You put in two and get one back. It's always worked that way and will with the new system. It's just that now you can pay a hefty XP cost for the luxury of scraping the enchantments off the two input items and putting them into the one you get out.
