    Hey, that is nice! That calculator seems like a very easy to use interface for building presets. Have you considered adding a Reset button to each section (Basic, Ore, Advanced) so the whole page doesn't have to be reset at once? A Load function to read from an existing preset string might be useful too.

    Bryce has the thin rock spires all over the place. The rest of mesa can still vary from high plateaus to low valleys and has the same materials in it, but you don't get the spire shapes.

    Well, yes, this is a pretty long walk. I didn't mean to imply you spawn here. You spawn in the mega taiga (dark teal in my color scheme) and have to trek north-northeast a good while before you get to the mushroom desert.

    Teal = taiga
    Gray-green = birch forest
    Dark green = roofed forest
    Brown = swamp

    Amidst map below (flower forest is colored purple). You could say the bryce cuts across a flower forest, or perhaps the bryce is bordered by two flower forests. Either way, ahhh. :)



    You'll have to go pretty far southeast to get to snow and jungle (and northwest if you're looking for mega taiga), but it sure is a charming spawn area.

    I found a rare 1.7 mushroom "island" landlocked inside a desert. As luck has it, there's also a (small) village overlooking the mushrooms.

    To help me hunt for biomes, I've made a simplified color map. Sharing it now in case anybody would enjoy it. I've grouped biomes with identical colors for the following categories:

    • Yellowish-tan: Beach, Cold Beach, Desert, Desert variants
    • Drab yellowish-gray: Savanna (and variants)
    • Bright green: Jungle (and variants)
    • Medium-darkish green: Forest, Forest Hills
    • Purple: Flower Forest (to stand out)
    • Grayish green: Birch Forest (and variants)
    • Very dark green: Roofed Forest (and variant)
    • Teal: Taiga (and variants, all non-snowy)
    • Grayish teal: Cold Taiga (and variants)
    • Dark Teal: Mega Taiga (and variants)
    • Rust: Mesa (and variants, minus bryce)
    • Orange: Mesa Bryce (to stand out)
    • Pastel green: Plains
    • Bold yellow: Sunflower Plains (to stand out)
    • Warm gray: Extreme Hills (and variants, plus Stone Beach)
    • Rosy pink: Mushroom Island (and shore)
    • Medium blue: Ocean, Deep Ocean, River
    • Lighter blue: Frozen River
    • Slightly bluish white: Ice Plains, Ice Mountains
    • Cyan: Ice Plains Spikes (to stand out)

    I find this helps me look for seeds which have certain features (say, Mesa and Ice Plains/Mountains within a certain radius of spawn) but I don't especially care which subtype of each is present. I guess you could call it hill indifference. :)

    One could condense these further to make flowers blend in with their respective areas, to fuse Taiga with Cold Taiga, maybe Forest and Birch Forest, and so forth, but I found this was the balance I preferred between too much information and too little.

    The 14w03b enhancements to the player skin finally gave me a chance to make an accurate Lion Voltron skin!



    The sleeve and pant-leg layers are used for Lion Heads. If you disable any of those, I made it to look like Voltron has fired off the Lion Heads. :) (This feature comes at the expense of some Z-fighting where the Blue and Yellow Lion Heads meet, but I'm willing to live with it.) The jacket and hat layers should be left on.

    Edit: And here's a bonus: Vehicle Voltron.

    I was among the people who requested this Control-click "fix," such as it is. The reason is that a number of us with Mac laptops have no mouse handy (playing on a lap or lapboard, or somewhere else without room for a mouse), and Control-click was our natural preference for right-clicking (we do it in all other programs for right-click; it's a natural finger move for us).

    So at some point LWJGL (Java library Minecraft depends on) stopped interpreting Control-click as a right-click like every other Mac program does (and Minecraft did). That was a severe blow to us who relied on it, and the LWJGL team appeared (appears) to have no intention to change it back. So Grum reluctantly put in a workaround while warning us it would be a little buggy (stickiness would be a problem depending on the order in which the key and button were released). It's not an ideal solution, but there are still a number of us, despite this not being the way most people play, who very strongly prefer Control-click as right-click.

    But absolutely it should be a toggleable preference.
