    I realy like your mod, it has as many things as mo'creatures or even more, but aside from the slim chance of having it added to the source code of minecraft by notch due to its strong relation with fantasy/magic/mytology, you could also attempt to make it playable in SMP (as minecolony/Humans+ is being planned to).

    Since i started playing in lan with my friends i cant get back to SSP without sufering more....

    Hear it out:

    For the crossbow ammo, they could be more costly by doing more damage, like this:
    -wooden bolts
    [] [] :|:
    [] :|: [] = 1x wooden bolt
    :|: [] []

    -iron bolts
    [] [] :Iron:
    [] :Iron: [] = 1~3x iron bolts (you decide the quantity, but remember that bolts are meant to be expensive)
    :Iron: [] []

    -bolts for crossbows dont need the tail and head as the arrows, 'cause their aerodynamicy(sorry, dont know other word) work diferent from each other.
    -Diamond and obsidian are "uncuttable"(or it should be), so no bolts with those ores. Besides, there is no point to waste obsidians to damage 5 hearts when you can use iron to damage 4 hearts.


    As for the arrows, please read these threads and speak with their owners if you like to develop them further:

    the ideia is original and i like it a lot (especially because i will work with chemistry after my highschool).
    BUT! this mod need a LOT of thinking and further development if you want it to be worthy.
    Example: chemistry is messing up with the content of the matter, and transforming some elements into others. Producing liquid nitrogen is super cool(using it is even better), but do you really think it would be ok to make liquid nitrogen from snow? Its against the laws of thermophysics(sorry for being too nerdish and sorry for my english).

    You could mix chemistry with alchemy and culinary to make a more complete mod, and maybe have some words with the guy who made this other thread: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=87144&hilit=alchemy
